MANILA, Philippines – Almost two years since their wedding, Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo are expecting their first child, say US media reports. (READ: Adam Levine marries Behati Prinsloo)

According to Us Weekly, Behati, 26, is 3 to 4 months pregnant with her child with Adam, 36. E! News, People, and Billboard have also reported the news, citing multiple sources. However, the couple hasn't made an official announcement yet.

Adam, Maroon 5's frontman, and Behati, a top model, started dating in June 2012, a month after Adam split up with model Anne Vyalitsyna. The couple briefly split up in March 2013 but later reconciled. In July 2013, after getting back together, Levine proposed to the Namibian model.

Adam and Behati tied the knot in Mexico in 2014.

In interviews following their wedding, Adam and Behati have both expressed that they wanted children in the future, but also said that nothing was planned out. – Rappler.com

Eagles of Death Metal frontman suggests Paris attacks an inside job

NEW YORK, USA – The frontman of the band whose concert turned into a terrorist bloodbath in Paris has suggested the attack was an inside job, saying he was suspicious of the club's security guards. (READ: Eagles of Death Metal wow Paris with cathartic survivors show)

The historic Bataclan angrily rejected the "senseless" claim and said that Jesse Hughes' allegations were because he was traumatized.

Hughes, the singer and guitarist of Eagles of Death Metal, said he immediately felt uneasy when setting up for the November 13 show as a guard in charge of the backstage area at the Bataclan club did not make eye contact. (READ: Over 128 killed, 180 injured in Paris attacks)

"I didn't like him at all. And so I immediately went to the promoter and said, 'Who's that guy? I want to put another dude on,'" Hughes said in an interview broadcast late Wednesday with Fox Business.

"He goes, 'Well, some of the other guards aren't here yet.' And eventually I found out that six or so wouldn't show up at all," Hughes said.

"Out of respect for the police still investigating, I won't make a definite statement, but I'll say it seems rather obvious that they had a reason not to show up."

As the California rockers were playing, assailants opened fire and threw grenades to kill 90 people, the deadliest in a series of coordinated attacks around Paris claimed by the Islamic State group that left a total of 130 dead and 350 injured, many seriously.

Hughes said that one of the assailants allowed three fans to leave the venue, in what he saw as further proof that the culprits had previous knowledge of the Bataclan, a famed Paris venue for mid-sized rock shows. (READ: Eagles of Death Metal urges compassion, halts shows after Paris attack)

"The senseless statements of Mr. Jesse Hughes are the result of the enormous trauma," the Bataclan said in a statement.

"All witness accounts from the day show the professionalism and courage of the security personnel," it said, adding "their intervention likely saved hundreds of people."

"A judicial process is under way," it said. "We would like justice to complete its work calmly."

Hughes previously made similar allegations in an interview with Vanity Fair magazine, saying he wished he had "followed my instinct" as the soundman had spotted two people inside the club before the show whose attire and behavior were at striking odds with the typical rock audience.

Hughes, in contrast to many rockers, was known even before the attacks for his right-leaning views and support for the right to own guns in the United States.

In the interview with Fox Business, Hughes said he was not necessarily advocating gun ownership but wished that fans had ways to defend themselves. (READ: Eagles of Death Metal singer says guns could have stopped attacks)

"I don't want to shoot anybody – I would hate to do that," he said, breaking down with emotion.

"But I, more than that, do not want to let the bad guys take any of my people, and I don't want to go out like a punk."– Rappler.com

LONDON, UK – England's High Court on Thursday, March 10, considered a dispute between US pop megastar Madonna and her British film director ex-husband Guy Ritchie over their 15-year-old son Rocco.

Judge Alistair MacDonald, who is considering the case, said the fact Thursday's hearing was taking place could be reported but no details could be publicized.

"Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" director Ritchie attended Thursday's hearing at the High Court in London. Madonna is on tour in Australia and New Zealand.

Madonna and Ritchie split in 2008 after eight years of marriage.

The two have been engaged in an increasingly bitter custody dispute that has become especially complicated as they live on opposite sides of the Atlantic, and the singer is on a world tour for her Rebel Heart album. (READ: Fabulous PH fan shares what it's like to dance with Madonna onstage)

Separately, New York judge in December asked Ritchie to send Rocco back after the son decided to move to London rather than stay in his mother's home or accompany her on tour.

The father and son refused and last week the court agreed that Rocco can stay tentatively in London until his parents sort out their differences.

Madonna touched on the custody battle in a concert Sunday in New Zealand where she dedicated Edith Piaf's "La Vie en Rose" to the 15-year-old.

"There is no love stronger than a mother for her son," she said tearfully before singing the song to guitar in Auckland.

MANILA, Philippines – When Kim Kardashian posed nude in a selfie, her colleagues in showbiz like Chloë Grace Moretz and Bette Midler called her out on International Women's Day, March 8.

Kim responded to these comments by writing about her experience and perspective at length:  "I am empowered by my body. I am empowered by my sexuality. I am empowered by feeling comfortable in my skin. I am empowered by showing the world my flaws and not being afraid of what anyone is going to say about me." (READ: Kim Kardashian pens essay on nude selfie, empowerment on Int'l Women's Day)

Now, other stars followed Kim's lead, posting their own "nude selfies."

Kim's sister, Kylie Jenner, posted her own selfie, albeit in black underwear:

Some, however, took the opportunity to parody the entire thing.

Ellen posted her own version on Twitter, captioning it: "When you're like my friend has nothing to wear." She jokingly explained on her show, "We were having such a great night, and then I spilled some wine on my shirt. I had to change my clothes and take a bath. Then Kim barged in."

Ellen added, "She just came in, and took her clothes off, and said 'Let's take a selfie.'"

Among Kim's detractors, Chloë told her on Twitter, " I truly hope you realize how important setting goals are for young women, teaching them we have so much more to offer than our bodies."

Kim addressed this in an essay, saying, "I don't do drugs, I hardly drink, I've never committed a crime – and yet I'm a bad role model for being proud of my body?"

"It's 2016. The body-shaming and slut-shaming – it's like, enough is enough. I will not live my life dictated by the issues you have with my sexuality. You be you and let me be me." – Rappler.com

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – The sudden and recent death of two directors, Wenn Deramas and Francis Xavier Pasion, sparked talk among media industry members about unhealthy working conditions.

Filmmaker Quark Henares was among the first to speak up. In a Facebook post about Francis' death, he said that directors like Wenn, Francis, and Gilbert Perez died of cardiac arrest, possibly due to the poor working hours and conditions in television.

Gilbert, who directed shows like Bituing Walang Ningning and Kahit Isang Saglit died in 2008. Wenn was known for his hits at the annual Metro Manila Film Festival and died in February. Soon after, Francis, who directed the recently concluded ABS-CBN series On the Wings of Love, died in March.

"I think the reason a lot of TV directors like Wenn Deramas and Gilbert Perez, and now Francis Pasion are getting cardiac arrests is because of the horrible working hours and conditions in television. And it's not just directors: stuntmen, ADs (assistant directors), crew people, and cameramen all go through similar situations. This should really change. And I don't know how it will, considering that this entails losses for the networks. But it really is time," wrote Quark.

In an email to Rappler, ABS-CBN said that they had been looking into the situation: "ABS-CBN has started reviewing its production work processes even before the calls for review by individuals and groups came out."

Working hours

At the launch of Belo Medical Group's Fotona Nightlase on March 10, actress Donita Rose spoke to Rappler about the issue. Donita is part of the comedy series That's My Amboy, and told Rappler that they shoot every other day, with some shooting days that last more than 24 hours.

"Generally speaking [for TV series], it's like usually 24 hours in a day, sometimes some directors are slower, so it's more than 24 hours a day. We would get picked up at 5 am, 6 am, and we would come home 9 am, 10 am the next day. And then you have a day break, but you spend half that day sleeping because you're so puyat (sleep-deprived)."

On Facebook, director and producer Anna Ylagan complained that her father, 78-year-old actor Robert Arevalo, had the same hours, leaving at 5 am and coming back home at 9:30 am the next day.

On March 12, program manager for The Millionaire's Wife, Anthony Pastorpide, told Pep that they have apologized to Robert, explaining that they had a lot of scenes to shoot that day, and it might take a long time for them to go back to that specific location, as it was two hours away from Manila.

“Ngayon po ay inaayos na ng produksyon ang lahat para hindi na maulit ang pangyayaring iyon (Right now, the production is fixing everything so that something like that doesn't happen again),” said Pastorpride.

In an interview with Rappler at the same Belo event, Edgar Allan Guzman, who stars in the series Doble Kara, said he understands where Quark is coming from, but his hours depend on what the production is after.

“Actually, may point siya, pero kasi depende sa network and sa production, depende talaga kung naghahabol sa isang show or maraming pondo, maraming eksena nakunan na, or marami pang kukunan for airing," he said.

(Actually he has a point, but it depends with the network and the production, it really depends if you're trying to catch up with the show, if you've already shot a lot of the scenes, or you still have a lot to shoot for airing.)

Edgar explained that in the case of Doble Kara, taping may start as early as 6 am and finish at 3 am the next day. However, he clarified that it’s not every day they do it and that they also rest.

Donita also explained that some of the more popular actors have cut-off times when it comes to shooting, but some productions would rather hire actors who don't have cut-off times.

She expressed concern about child actors, too. "For me...the labor laws for children. They'renot supposed to shoot for more than 10 or 12 hours, but based on what I see, that's not being implemented," she said in a mix of English and Filipino.

While Republic Act No 9231 does not mention specific hours, it requires the employer of children in the entertainment industry to ensure the children's health and protection. It also states that children should not be exploited in terms of remuneration and working time.

"My heart goes out to them, I honestly I don't feel that...even parents should allow that, because – but that's what sustains their families," Donita said.

In a Facebook post on March 7, actor and singer Aiza Seguerra echoed Quark's sentiments, and detailed the working conditions that a production staff has to go through to finish a project:

"They basically work 7 days a week. Taping, pre-prod, meetings. Sila ang sumasalo ng stress na binibigay ng management ng networks at ng mga artista. Early call time, late pack-up, didiretso pa sa pre-prod para sa susunod na taping. Wala silang pahinga at all pag nasa taping. Wala sila sa aircon tent. Wala silang higaan. Kung umidlip man, panakaw. Hindi na nila nakikita ang mga pamilya nila. Wala silang panahon magbakasyon. Walang cut-off."

(They basically work 7 days a week. Taping, pre-prod, meetings. They're the ones who catch the stress that the network's management and the artists give. Early call time, late pack-up, they even go straight to pre-prod for the next taping. They don't rest at all during taping. They don't stay in the airconditioned tents. They have nowhere to lie down. If they do get to nap, they have to do it sneakily. They don't see their families anymore. They don't have time for vacations. There are no cut-offs.)

According to Article 83 of the Labor Code of the Philippines, workers should not exceed more than 8 hours of work. However, this law doesn't apply to field personnel, who must regularly perform duties outside of an office and whose hours of work can't be determined with reasonable certainty.

For those whose jobs exceed the 8-hour work day, the Department of Labor and Employment released Department Advisory Number 22, series of 2004, which states: "Unless there is a more favorable practice existing in the firm, work beyond 8 hours will not be compensable by overtime premium, provided the total number of hours worked per day shall not exceed 12 hours. In any case, any work performed beyond 12 hours a day or 48 hours a week shall be subject to overtime premium."

'It's a choice'

Directors' Guild of the Philippines president Mike Sandejas said in an interview with  TV Patrol that he himself has experienced poor health due to his work.

"I've felt the effects of the long hours. Tumaba ako (I gained weight), hypertension problems, blood pressure problems. I actually ballooned to 275 pounds, then I decided to lose the weight. If I didn't, baka isa na ako sa mga direktor na namatay (I might have become one of the directors who died)," said Mike.

Mike added that there's no one to blame for the problem of overwork in the industry, but something should be done to change it. "This is not a witch-hunt. You know, if there's anybody to blame, it's us, point a finger at ourselves. It's just the culture that has been going on for the longest time. And I think we just have to realize that we have to change it."

"Ultimately, it's a choice," Mike added, explaining that some people work long, unhealthy hours because they have to. "Some people don't have that choice because they need to work. Creating policy would make it illegal for them to choose something that would be bad for them."

Speaking up

Donita said that some actors may be afraid to speak up about unfair practices, lest they be taken to be complaining or get less job opportunities. The actress said she herself was more than thankful for the work that she does.

But Donita also added that more people have been speaking up recently, including That's My Amboy director Joyce Bernal. Joyce, said Donita, has expressed the same sentiments as Quark.

In a March 10 TV Patrol report, president of the Actors' Guild of the Philippines Rez Cortez said: "Kailangan pa bang may mamatay? Kailangan pa bang may magkasakit bago tayo umaksyon? Bago tayo umabot sa pagkakataon na iyon, agapan na natin."

(Does someone have to die? Does someone have to get sick for us to take action? Before it reaches that stage, we should already act.)

One of the solutions that Rez and the Philippine Academy of Film are pushing for is a stricter implementation of the 12-hour work schedule.

Others have spoken up on social media as well.

In an earlier Facebook post, scriptwriter Lilit Reyes said: "Quality of people's health is as important, if not more important, as quality of work. When the industry turned to primetime daily soap, the rest is long hour shooting history. There's got to be a way [to change things]."

"Not even a stable regular pay or a higher pay as solutions or compensation can regain the priceless lives lost," he added. "Think also about the production crew members who are the first to arrive on the set and the last to leave, who aren't paid as much, but their dedication and passion are undoubtedly intact."

Meanwhile, Bianca Balbuena, one of those who produced the award-winning Hele sa Hiwagang Hapis, said that it is possible to have a 14-hour shooting day, citing her experiences on the set of Hele as proof.

Other industry members tagged in Bianca's post agreed with her in the comments, including On the Wings of Love director Antoinette Jadaone, filmmaker Leon Cheo, Lilit, and actress Madlen Nicolas.

Edward delos Santos Cabagnot, one of the founders of the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival, called out the Film Development Council of the Philippines, saying: "THIS is your f-ckin' job! To take care of the welfare of the sector you have been mandated to protect. NOT spending government funds to put up expensive booths in festival markets that will remain tragically unattended." – Rappler.com

MANILA, Philippines – Cristine Reyes' has spoken up once again to respond to Vivian Velez's accusations that she was rude to her on set.

In an interview with TV Patrol, Cristine reiterated that she had never sent the veteran actress out of their shared dressing room, addressing one among several other accusations hurled against her.

"It's not true that I sent her out," said Cristine. "I just want to clarify all the accusations. Wala akong pinapaalis na kahit sino sa dressing room, kahit sinong kasama ko, never ko ho 'yun gagawin (I never sent anyone out of the dressing room, no matter who I'm with, I would never do that)."

TV Patrol reported that it wasn't until Cristine had to share a room with Vivian that she experienced the veteran actress' "attitude problem."

Cristine also mentioned that her co-stars and the production's staff backed her up when it came to Vivian's alleged false accusations.

"I have evidence, I have messages from my co-stars, from the management, from the staff, that alam naman namin lahat ang totoo (we all know the truth), that you were lying about me," said Cristine.

In an interview with PEP following her resignation, Vivian said, “Regarding my character on the show, they have no choice. My resignation is irrevocable."

Cristine revealed, however, in the TV Patrol report, that there was already talk of having Vivian removed from the show. "She found out already that papatayin yung character niya sa soap namin na Tubig at Langis (her character in our soap, Tubig at Langis, was going to be killed off). Why? Because everybody was complaining about her, especially the production staff.

After her resignation, Vivian said in an interview with PEP that she would finish the rest of her scenes, only if Cristine isn't in them.

Soon after, Cristine defended herself in a separate statement, saying that the tension was because of "gaps in the communication between the production staff, Ms Vivian, and myself" – corroborating a statement from the Tubig at Langis production team.

The two actresses worked on the set of Tubig at Langis, which also stars Isabelle Daza and Zanjoe Marudo. – Rappler.com

Madonna wants to 'restore peace' in son custody row

LONDON, UK – Madonna wants to heal the wounds in her family caused by a dispute with her ex-husband over custody of their son Rocco, her lawyers told the English High Court. (READ: English court battle over Madonna's son Rocco Ritchie)

The US pop megastar's lawyer told judge Alistair MacDonald that she wanted to end the court battle being fought in London with British film director Guy Ritchie over their 15-year-old son.

The former couple are also engaged in similar court action in New York.

MacDonald finished hearing evidence on Friday, March 11 and now has to decide whether the proceedings in the English High Court should close, or if he should make decisions about Rocco's welfare.

A New York judge in December asked Ritchie to send Rocco back to the US, after the teenager decided to move to London rather than stay in his mother's home or accompany her on tour.

Ritchie has attended the London court hearings, though Madonna has been singing in Australia and New Zealand. (IN PHOTOS: 10 dazzling moments from Madonna's ‘Rebel Heart’ Manila concert, day 2)

"What she has always wanted to do... is to find a way in which this family can get to heal the wounds which have been inflicted on this family over the past four months," said Madonna's lawyer David Williams.

The singer wants to "chart a course for Rocco and the family which enables them to put this behind them and to restore peace to the family," he said, adding that Madonna wants them to meet in New York over Easter.

Ritchie's lawyer, Alex Verdan, said the director had proposed a meeting in London as the pair had not been in the "same place at the same time" since the dispute began.

Earlier this week, judge MacDonald said little detail could be revealed about the hearings, but relaxed his restrictions following an application from two British newspaper publishers.

Madonna and Ritchie split in 2008 after eight years of marriage.

The pop icon touched on the custody battle in a concert Sunday in New Zealand, where she dedicated Edith Piaf's signature song "La Vie en Rose" to the 15-year-old.

"There is no love stronger than a mother for her son," she said tearfully before singing the song in Auckland.

"I hope he hears this somewhere and knows how much I miss him." – Rappler.com

NEW YORK, USA – US presidential frontrunners Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump do not have much in common but, like millions of others, they are both fans of Adele.

Clinton, in an interview with satellite radio network Sirius XM airing Friday, said she would choose the British ballad singer if she had her own music show.

"I'm currently into Adele. That is my go-to voice. I have such a huge admiration for her skills, her ability and her personality," she said.

Clinton, who is trying to become the first woman to lead the United States, said she would play many female singers on her hypothetical radio show and also listed Sheryl Crow.

The 68-year-old said she grew up with classic rock 'n' roll and was also fond of classical music, which she found relaxing in the background while working.

Her passion for Adele is apparently shared with Trump, who was spotted at a concert by the singer in November at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

But Adele later objected to the billionaire right-wing populist playing her music at his rallies, saying she has not given permission to any candidate.

Adele shattered early sales records with her latest album 25 and has been the rare artist to win a fan base across age and demographic groups.

Her songs about heartache and childhood nostalgia are rarely political but in the past she has declared her support for Britain's Labour Party.

Clinton, in her previous job of secretary of state, was similarly asked about her musical tastes in 2011 at a forum with students in Manila.

The baby-boomer revealed that she listened to The Doors, The Who, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones through her iPad, although she said she mostly used the device to read news online. – Rappler.com

Stars past and present bid farewell to Nancy Reagan

SIMI VALLEY, USA – Hollywood stars and political powerbrokers past and present gathered to hear glowing tributes to former first lady Nancy Reagan before her burial beside her husband at the Reagan presidential library Friday.

Reagan died on Sunday of heart failure at the age of 94 at her home in the Bel Air suburb of Los Angeles, 12 years after Ronald Reagan, who served two terms in the White House in the 1980s.

Representatives of presidential families stretching back to the Kennedys attended, with First Lady Michelle Obama and former first lady and ex-secretary of state Hillary Clinton joining former president George W. Bush in the front row.

James Baker, chief of staff under Reagan and George H.W. Bush, described Nancy as "a woman without whom Ronald Wilson Reagan would never have become the 40th president of the United States or succeeded as well as he did."

"She had an instinct for reading people that the president knew he lacked. Nancy, he wrote, sees the goodness in people. But she also had an extra instinct that allowed her to see the flaws," Baker said.

The Reagans were former actors and many of the 1980s Hollywood glitterati, including then-sex symbol Bo Derek, Oscar winner Anjelica Huston, Magnum PI actor Tom Selleck and the A-Team's Mr T were were expected among around 1,000 guests who began arriving under sunny skies several hours ahead of the ceremony.

Us Weekly magazine also reported that Arnold Schwarzenegger, Maria Shriver, Katie Couric, Tina Sinatra, Diane Sawyer, Wayne Newton, John Stamos, Tom Selleck, Larry King, and Melissa Rivers were also among the attendees.

The former first lady's funeral opened with a musical prelude by the Santa Susana High School Advanced Women's Choir and Abbe Road A Cappella, and an instrumental section by the First Marine Division Band, Marine Corps Camp Pendleton.

Love letters

Stuart Kenworthy, the vicar of Washington National Cathedral, presided over the 90-minute program, which opened with "Battle Hymn of the Republic" and included renditions of "Ave Maria" and "Pie Jesu" by soprano Ana Maria Martinez.

The Reagans wrote passionate love notes to each other over the decades, and former Canadian prime minister Brian Mulroney read out a letter the president wrote to Nancy on their first Christmas in the White House in 1981.

Reagan quotes from "Sonnet 43," Elizabeth Barrett Browning's love letter to her future husband, the poet Robert Browning, better known by its opening line: "How do I love thee? Let me count the ways."

"For me, there is no way to count. I love the whole gang of you: mommy, First Lady, the sentimental you, the fun you and the Peewee Powerhouse you," Reagan wrote.

A fierce protector of her husband and his political legacy, Reagan had outsized influence during their White House years from 1981 to 1989.

The couple wed in 1952 after Ronald divorced his first wife, actress Jane Wyman. The marriage has been described as a love story to rival any that the couple acted out on the silver screen.

The pair had two children – Patti Davis, born in 1952, and Ron Junior, born in 1958, both of whom delivered eulogies that, along with a tribute from former NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw, had the guests laughing at fondly recounted anecdotes.

Challenging relationship

Davis was also searingly honest about her memories of her mother, recalling a "challenging and often contentious relationship."

"When I was a child, I imagined having warm, comfortable conversations with her, the kind of conversations that feel like lamp light. The reality was far different," she said.

"I tried her patience and she intimidated me. We were never mild with one another."

While in the White House Nancy Reagan actively participated in her husband's campaigns, approved members of the president's cabinet, and was the face of the administration's Just Say No drugs campaign.

Ronald Reagan suffered from Alzheimer's disease after leaving office and went into a long decline. His wife took care of him until his death and became a tireless advocate for Alzheimer's research.

President Barack Obama and his wife praised Nancy Reagan's "proud example" in a statement after her death, saying she redefined the role of first lady.

As a "mark of respect" Obama ordered that flags be flown at half-staff at federal buildings, military posts, US naval vessels and diplomatic missions until sunset Friday. – Sara Puig, AFP/Rappler.com

MANILA, Philippines – Robert Downey Jr took to Facebook to proudly proclaim his 22-year-old son Indio's latest achievements: successfully completing a drug diversion program and releasing new music with his band The Dose.

Indio is Robert's son with actress and singer Deborah Falconer. The Iron Man star wrote, "Congrats are in order for my firstborn, and I’m proud to oblige."

Robert added, "Having braved the crucible of addiction (and pleased the court), his ongoing commitment to recovery continues to inspire and amaze."

{source} <div id="fb-root"></div><script>(function(d, s, id) {  var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];  if (d.getElementById(id)) return;  js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id;  js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3";  fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));</script><div class="fb-post" data-href="https://www.facebook.com/robertdowneyjr/videos/526546974180439/"><div class="fb-xfbml-parse-ignore"><blockquote cite="https://www.facebook.com/robertdowneyjr/videos/526546974180439/"><p>Congrats are in order for my firstborn, and I&#x2019;m proud to oblige&#x2014; Having braved the crucible of addiction (and pleased...</p>Posted by <a href="https://www.facebook.com/robertdowneyjr/">Robert Downey Jr</a> on&nbsp;<a href="https://www.facebook.com/robertdowneyjr/videos/526546974180439/">Friday, 11 March 2016</a></blockquote></div></div>{/source}

Indio was arrested in June 2014 after being caught in possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. He was admitted to an 18-month drug diversion program – plus 2 months of treatment – after pleading guilty to a felony charge of cocaine possession.

On March 8, a Los Angeles court dismissed his conviction upon completing the program.

"Your honor, I would like to say I am truly grateful for the experience I have had over the past 20 months in recovery," Indio told the judge, as quoted by ET. "I've gained so much. I'm so blessed to have my life back. I hope to be an inspiration to others in the future."

The elder Downey also personally struggled with addiction, and was arrested several times for this from 1996 until 2001, when he finally got sober.

His appearance in films like Iron Man, Sherlock Holmes, and the Avengers movies has been hailed by some observers as his comeback.

Robert previously told E! News after Indio's arrest, "Unfortunately, there's a genetic component to addiction and Indio has likely inherited it. Also, there is a lot of family support and understanding, and we're all determined to rally behind him and help him become the man he's capable of being."

He continued to heap praises on his son in his Facebook post, even promoting new music from The Dose, in which Indio does vocals and plays the guitar.

"As long as we can remember, Indio has been a musician at heart," Robert wrote. "In the last several years, with his band mate Ralph Alexander, I’ve witnessed their dedication, consistency, and determination to grow as artists."

"I’ve also made it my business to be of as little help as possible, as nepotism usually does more harm than good… Just for today, I’m gonna ease up on that," he added, posting a music video for The Dose's new single, "Cold Hands."

NEW YORK, USA – The frontman of the band whose concert was targeted in the Paris attacks apologized Friday for alleging that the club's security guards were involved, saying he was struggling with trauma. (READ: Eagles of Death Metal frontman suggests Paris attacks an inside job)

"I humbly beg forgiveness from the people of France, the staff and security of the Bataclan, my fans, family, friends and anyone else hurt or offended by the absurd accusations I made," said Jesse Hughes, singer and guitarist of Eagles of Death Metal.

"My suggestions that anyone affiliated with the Bataclan played a role in the events of November 13 are unfounded and baseless – and I take full responsibility for them," he said in a statement.

{source}<div id="fb-root"></div><script>(function(d, s, id) {  var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];  if (d.getElementById(id)) return;  js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id;  js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3";  fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));</script><div class="fb-post" data-href="https://www.facebook.com/eaglesofdeathmetal/posts/10153854016381014:0" data-width="500"><div class="fb-xfbml-parse-ignore"><blockquote cite="https://www.facebook.com/eaglesofdeathmetal/posts/10153854016381014:0"><p>A STATEMENT FROM JESSE HUGHES:</p>Posted by <a href="https://www.facebook.com/eaglesofdeathmetal/">Eagles Of Death Metal</a> on&nbsp;<a href="https://www.facebook.com/eaglesofdeathmetal/posts/10153854016381014:0">Friday, 11 March 2016</a></blockquote></div></div>{/source}

The artist in an interview with the Fox Business channel had cast suspicion on the guards of the Bataclan club, suggesting that some had been involved in the attack claimed by the Islamic State in Syria & Iraq (ISIS).

Hughes had cited as evidence the lack of eye contact of a guard in charge of the backstage area and what he said was the absence of around six security personnel on the night of the attack.

Ninety people were killed when assailants opened fire and hurled grenades during the set of the California garage rockers in the deadliest of a series of coordinated attacks around Paris. (READ: Over 128 killed, 180 injured in Paris attacks)

The Bataclan, a historic venue for mid-sized acts in Paris, had strongly denied the rocker's suggestion, saying that its staff likely saved hundreds of lives and concluded that his judgment was clouded by the trauma.

Hughes offered a similar rationale in his apology, saying: "I've been dealing with non-stop nightmares and struggling through therapy to make sense of this tragedy and insanity. I haven't been myself since November 13."

Hughes also said that his earlier statements did not reflect the views of others in the band, declaring: "The shame is 100 percent mine."

A total of 130 people were killed in the series of attacks, with 350 more injured, many of them grievously.

Hughes had not definitively alleged an inside job, saying that he was offering his own assessment as police complete their investigation.

Hughes in a previous interview also cast suspicion on security at the club, saying that the band's soundman spotted two people already in the club before the show whose attire and behavior were atypical for rock fans.

He also said that the assailants allowed several people to leave, which he offered as evidence that they were familiar with the club's audience. – Rappler.com

Rock keyboard pioneer Keith Emerson dead in apparent suicide

KEYBOARDIST. Keith Emerson, the flamboyant yet accomplished keyboardist who pioneered the use of synthesizers in rock music, has died at age 71, his bandmates said on March 11, 2016. AFP file photo

NEW YORK, USA – Keith Emerson, the flamboyant yet accomplished keyboardist who pioneered the use of synthesizers in rock music, was found dead Friday, March 11, in an apparent suicide. He was 71.

The English virtuoso, who became famous for his dazzling stage feats with band Emerson, Lake and Palmer, died from a bullet wound to his head at his condominium in the Los Angeles area, police said.

His longtime girlfriend, Mari Kawaguchi, called police at 1:30 am (0930 GMT).

"It is being investigated as a suicide," said Sergeant Erika Aklufi, a police spokeswoman in oceanside Santa Monica.

Former bandmate Carl Palmer mourned Emerson as "a pioneer and an innovator whose musical genius touched all of us in the worlds of rock, classical and jazz."

"Keith was a gentle soul whose love for music and passion for his performance as a keyboard player will remain unmatched for many years to come," Palmer said in a statement.

Inspired by Jimi Hendrix's theatrics with the electric guitar, Emerson created a new showmanship with the keyboards as he would attack the keys with knives and play the organ upside down with the giant instrument suspended over him.

He reached the height of his mainstream fame in 1974 when Emerson, Lake and Palmer closed California Jam, considered the last in a generation of great rock festivals which drew some 250,000 people to a speedway and was broadcast on ABC television.

Emerson, with his always flowing hair, ended the festival by strapping himself to a grand piano and playing as it spun around some 50 feet (15 meters) in the air.

Asked later about his attention-grabbing performances, Emerson told the British publication Counterculture: "Guitar players were the most mobile musicians on the stage and it's very difficult to make a 350-pound (160-kilogram) Hammond part of you."

"That part of the act was something that just felt natural to do; something that allowed me be more expressive," he said.

Elaborate music concepts

Emerson studied classical piano as a child in England and eventually took up the Hammond organ as he became intrigued by jazz.

But Emerson's career – and, to an extent, the trajectory of rock – changed when he heard the influential 1968 album "Switched-On Bach" by Wendy Carlos, who performed classical pieces on the Moog synthesizer.

The early-generation analog synthesizers – whose creator, US engineer Robert Moog, would become a friend – had gradually been finding their way into popular music, most notably appearing on The Beatles' 1969 album "Abbey Road."

But Emerson was considered the first to make the synthesizer a central rock instrument on its own, taking it on tour.

After his band The Nice disbanded in 1970, the keyboardist joined percussionist Palmer and singer and guitarist Greg Lake to form Emerson, Lake and Palmer, which became a force in 1970s progressive rock, a genre that emphasized advanced musical structure.

The trio won a wide following around the world but especially in Japan and Britain. Several albums including "Tarkus," "Trilogy" and "Brain Salad Surgery" entered the top 5 on the British chart.

"Tarkus," released in 1971, was especially innovative with the first track running more than 20 minutes long and inspired by the fictional Tarkus character – which would appear on stage – that was half tank, half armadillo.

The band also brought an experimental take to classical music, releasing a live album of Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition."

Tour planned next month

Emerson had shown no public signs of distress and had scheduled a solo tour of Japan next month.

An avid Facebook user, he had written heartfelt tributes after the recent deaths of music legends David Bowie and Motorhead's Lemmy.

But he was forced to call off a tour in 2010 to treat abnormal growth in his colon.

His last concert took place in July at the Barbican in London where he performed a tribute to Moog on a synthesizer alongside the BBC Concert Orchestra.

The concert summed up the dichotomies of Emerson's career. An accomplished keyboardist in the classical mold, the normally courtly Emerson said he was offended that several orchestra members openly put in earplugs and two left the stage.

"Just imagine that you are talking to me across a table and I have my fingers in my ears," he said.

Calling the minority of orchestra members unprofessional, he quipped: "Rock musicians don't behave like this." – Rappler.com

'Empire' creator blames 'growing pains' for dip in quality

LOS ANGELES, USA – "Empire" co-creator Lee Daniels admitted on Friday, March 11, that the top-rated hip-hop soap opera had lost its way after a record-breaking first season – but vowed the US show was back to its best.

Broadcast television's number one program hit a high of almost 18 million viewers in its season one finale but episodes in the new season have dropped as low as 9 million amid criticism over storylines.

"What happened was growing pains," Daniels told the PaleyFest TV festival in Los Angeles, agreeing with host Kevin Frazier that the show had gone "a little left."

"I think it would have happened to any show and I think that, though we still remained number one, we were learning, you know?"

"Sometimes you don't feel like it's enough, that these people, these wonderfully talented actors, are enough," he added, explaining the introduction of new characters that hadn't worked.

Critics have been scathing about some of the early episodes in the second season, which debuted in September last year, complaining that the show had fallen off creatively.

"Nothing interesting is happening, and what is happening isn't even happening in a fun or surprising way," said entertainment website The AV Club.

"The music is hit-and-miss, and the show is grossly overpopulated with characters who serve no purpose."

But Daniels told the audience at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre the show's development was a process of "trial and error," adding, to a large cheer: "At the end of the day, well we came back."

"We've really been learning about everybody and trying things out. Otherwise, how do you make greatness without testing it?" he said.

Several cast and crew joined Daniels on stage for a question and answer session after a screening of the first new episode after the mid-season break, due to air on March 30.

Trai Byers, who plays Andre Lyon in the prime time Fox show, denied persistent rumors that he is about to quit, while Daniels took a swipe at Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump.

"I don't have time to deal with racism," he said to a question about Hollywood's lack of racial diversity, highlighted by this year's all-white Oscar nominations in the acting categories.

"I thought, yes, am I delusional to say that there's not racism in America? Look at (expletive) Donald Trump."

PaleyFest, which runs until March 20, features exclusive screenings and panel sessions with the cast and crew of a number of top shows, including "Better Call Saul," "Scandal" and "Fear the Walking Dead." – Rappler.com

MANILA, Philippines – 5 Seconds of Summer put on an electrifying show, playing one high-octane tune after another at their Mall of Asia Arena show on Saturday, March 12.

Hailing from Australia, Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood, and Ashton Irwin called themselves "the world's most vanilla men in Manila." But they were warmly welcomed by a legion of fans with a thundering wall of sound. (IN PHOTOS: 5 Seconds of Summer live in Manila)

The pop punk band didn't back down with the energy, and their Manila fans responded by singing their hearts out and jumping along. They kickstarted the concert with "Hey Everybody," "Money," and "Disconnected," and left the fans still wanting when they ended with "She's Kinda Hot" and "She's So Perfect."

Their sold-out Sounds Live Feels Live Manila show was quite the unforgettable affair which had some standout moments. Let's take a look back with these highlights:

'Like we've been coming to the Philippines for a long time' – Luke

Having been around since 2011 on YouTube, the band said several times over the course of their March 12 concert that this was a visit 5 years overdue, and they expressed their appreciation for their supportive Manila fans.

"You guys are one of the best crowds we've ever been to," Calum said, thrilling fans who responded with louder screams.

"I feel like we've been coming to the Philippines for a long time," Luke said, in response to the enthusiastic reception they got, adding, "We've seen stuff online about you telling us to come here, so I'm sorry it took so long."

Calum addressed the crowd, "Let me hear you yell if you've been waiting 5 years for this band to come here! Let me hear you yell if you you're glad they're finally here!"

"Ever since day 1, we've heard from you. Ever since we were on YouTube, we've heard from the Philippines, so it's great for this band to finally be here," he added.

Fans sang their heart out to 'Amnesia'

As the boys played one of their mellow ballads, "Amnesia," the arena lit up like a starry sky with the fans raising their phones and glow sticks. Calum told the crowd, "Get your lights up in the air. Make this place look romantic."

Then, the crowd sang along in unison – "Are you somewhere feeling lonely even though he's right beside you? / When he says those words that hurt you, do you read the ones I wrote you?" This prompted the boys to stop singing and to give way to the fans' resounding harmony.

The band did an impromptu jam to 'Vanilla in Manila'

"This is the part of of the set where we sing a song about you," said a blue-haired Michael midway through the band's set, adding, "This is the part where we make up a song about you and your beautiful, beautiful country."

They launched into an impromptu jam, repeatedly singing, "Vanilla in Manila! Manila in Vanilla! Vanilla in Manila all day!" (WATCH: 5 Seconds of Summer sings new tune written for PH fans)

Theypaid tribute to The Romantics with 'What I Like About You'

The boys looked back at the roots of their pop punk sound with a rather excellent cover of a classic released more than 3 decades ago: The Romantics' "What I Like About You." It was an appropriate "ending" to a show that sustained a remarkable amount of energy all throughout.

Did the boys do justice to the song? The crowd was still jumping along until this time, keeping up with the band's verve – maybe this could gauge how it went.

The high-octane encore: 'She's Kinda Hot' and 'She's So Perfect'

Luke, Michael, Calum, and Ashton said throughout the show how they appreciated the reception that their Manila fans have given them.

When the band had to end the show with the obligatory encore – "She's Kinda Hot" and "She's So Perfect" – they gave it all that they've got, revving the engines more. Luke and Michael shredded on their guitars, Calum slapped the bass, and Ashton pounded on the drum kit like a fiend.

Before leaving the stage, the band also took a snapshot – with thousands of their fans in the background – to take home and remember the night that was.

Vivian quit the show following a rift with co-star Cristine Reyes, who she accused of being rude to her during taping. According to Vivian, Cristine even asked her to leave the waiting room they were sharing.

But in a TV Patrol interview, Cristine denied Vivian’s claims saying that she had never asked the actress to leave the waiting room they were both in. On the contrary, she said that it was Vivian who had an "attitude problem," and that even the show’s production staff were complaining about her. (READ: Cristine Reyes shares her side on issue with Vivian Velez)

"I have evidence, I have messages from my co-stars, from the management, from the staff, that alam naman namin lahat ang totoo (we all know the truth), that you were lying about me," she told TV Patrol. (READ: Cristine Reyes to Vivian Velez: 'You were lying about me')

The production staff of Tubig at Langis also issued a statement, saying that Vivian's accusations were rooted in miscommunication, which they took responsibility for.

Ara Mina defended her sister, Cristine, and commented, "I'm disheartened that the issue has been blown out of proportion." (READ: Ara Mina on Cristine Reyes, Vivian Velez issue)

Cristine’s co-stars Dione Monsanto and Jopay Paguia also defended Cristine from bashers, saying they should know the story first before criticizing. – Rappler.com
