MANILA, Philippines – They've been inseparable as a love team for the past few years, and by now, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla are used to the limelight. The two were adorable at the 2016 Star Magic Ball Saturday night, October 22!
The two of course have many, many successful projects under their belt, having also worked with the best writers and directors for their various TV shows and movies. Most recently, the two starred in another Star Cinema blockbuster, Barcelona.
MANILA, Philippines – The fan favorite love team KimXi (Kim Chiu and Xian Lim) once more took to the Star Magic Ball 2016 red carpet together Saturday night, October 22.
Last year's Couple of the Night winner, the two made a striking pair at the event. And like other guests who have been attending year after year, the two looked relaxed and happy as they posed for the cameras.
According to a release from Star Magic, Kim wore Val Taguba, while Xian wore a suit by Francis Libiran.
Earlier, Kim posted a photo of Xian asking her to the ball, continuing a tradition he had started earlier.

MANILA, Philippines – Sofia Andres and Diego Loyzaga were declared this year's Couple of the Night during the Star Magic Ball 2016 at the Makati Shangri-La on Saturday, October 22.
Sofia wore a black gown by Edwin Tan while Diego wore a suit by Francis Libiran.
John Lloyd Cruz was given the Metro and H&M Style Award, while Jericho Rosales was honored with the Star Magic Icon award.
Part of the program paid tribute to former ABS-CBN vice president Freddie Garcia, who was one of those who started Star Magic. The program also featured special guests and the stars pledging to help the victims of typhoon Lawin.
MANILA, Philippines – The Star Magic Ball 2016 was not just about the red carpet. The stars proceeded to the ballroom after their walk through the red carpet for the main event: the ball.
The event was hosted by Martin Nievera.
Nyoy Volante, Markki Stroem, Bibo Reyes, and Rhenwyn Gabalonzo performed some songs from the musical Jersey Boys.
Richard Poon, KZ, Martin, and Jona Viray performed a Tony Bennett medley as they serenaded former ABS-CBN president Freddie Garcia, considered one of Star Magic's pillars.
Young singers CJ Navato, Kristel Fulgar, Bailey May, Ylona Garcia, Darren Espanto, and Alexa Ilacad performed a Carole King medley as tribute to to ABS-CBN chairman Gabby Lopez
Some of Star Magic's young and upcoming talents did the traditional cotillon presentation, with Jason Dy singing the ballad "I Won’t Give Up."
These year's cotillon participants are Tommy Esguerra and Miho Nishida, Sofia Andres and Diego Loyzaga, McCoy de Leon and Elisse Joson, Sue Ramirez and Ronnie Alonte, Grae Fernandez and Kira Balinger, and Nash Aguas and Alexa Ilacad.

MANILA, Philippines – There was a big celebration on the kalyeserye on Saturday, October 23, as onscreen couple Alden Richards and Yaya Dub (Maine Mendoza) finally got married.
It may have been only a TV wedding, but real-life wedding videographer Jason Magbanua documented the event, and even released a same-day edit.
In the video above, fans of AlDub, as Alden and Yaya Dub's tandem is known, can see candid scenes from the wedding, clips of the bride and groom before the ceremony, and even hear part of their sweet wedding vows.

MANILA, Philippines – Kris Aquino and her son Bimby finally met James Yap and Michela Cazzola's baby son Michael James.
On Instagram, Kris posted a photo of her with Bimby and James' girlfriend Michela Cozzola. In the post, Kris wrote: "There's no perfect formula for mothering except to do it with LOVE. I am grateful that today we gave our sons the opportunity to meet and hopefully have genuine bonding as brothers. Because in the end, the good men we are able to raise will be products of our guidance and unconditional love as mothers."

Michela also posted a photo of her and Bimby together.
"My baby boy met his brother today," Michaela wrote.
During the forum of Ariel's 100 Fearless Females Summit last October 11, Kris admitted that she got hurt when James did not inform Bimby directly of his new brother. She said they only found out through Facebook.
"I'm not disparaging them [James and girlfriend Michela] because that was their choice. I want them to be also happy and peaceful, because when there's peace and happiness in the other side, there's peace and happiness in your home," Kris said during the forum.

Jun Lana’s Bakit Lahat ng Gwapo May Boyfriend?! opens during a wedding ceremony, with Kylie (Anne Curtis), the wedding’s busy planner, bitterly breaking the fourth wall in an effort to set the right mood for something that feels like a farce, until you see through to the smart second layer.
It is the wedding of Kylie’s ex-boyfriend, and her ex-boyfriend is marrying another man. In fact, all of Kylie’s ex-boyfriends are later revealed to be gay. Her experiences have given her the skill to detect whether a certain man is really straight, according to the story.
Kylie’s boss Benj (Paolo Ballesteros), who is also one of her ex-boyfriends she’s been griping about, has always been in love with Diego (Dennis Trillo), whom he suspects to be gay as well. Diego however is about to get married, so Benj recruits Kylie to determine if Diego is indeed gay, so that if he is, he can finally admit to him his undying adoration.

Bakit Lahat ng Gwapo May Boyfriend?! however is not a gay love story. The core romance is as straight as they come, with Kylie, who has been too careful with the guys she starts to like, eventually falling for Diego.
The plot is obviously carved from formula, and this time, it isn’t exactly a bad thing. The movie needs to be familiar and agreeable, even to the point of it being seemingly frivolous. While there are parts in the movie that feel like they have been concocted on a whim, the movie never feels like there is no design in its unabashed silliness.

There is an agenda that holds everything together. The movie is actually quite ingenious in its effort to recruit seemingly backward mainstream appeal to bring to the fore statements that might otherwise be too progressive to fit within the scope of what can be commercial. Everything about the movie is screaming queer, except for the main plot, making the movie feel like it is conventional when it is actually sprinkled with all sorts of love.
Cheeky but conscious

This isn’t the first time that Lana has tried this. The Prenup (2015) featured a lead character brought up by gay parents, and the entire movie itself feels like a commentary against traditions that hinder true love.
If The Prenup went for a more subtle approach in delivering its message, Bakit Lahat ng Gwapo May Boyfriend?! opted to be loud and proud. Its humor is diverse. At one point, it seems to be relying on overused stereotypes, with its characters predominantly playing comedic clichés. Thankfully, the movie elevates itself just enough to be as cheeky as it is conscious of the limits of caricature.

The movie falters dramatically when it focuses on Kylie and Diego’s love story. Lana seems like he’s only going through the motions of telling that story, as his mind is elsewhere. In fact, Bakit Lahat ng Gwapo May Boyfriend?! is most effective when it renders its colorful premise and milieu. The movie is bold in celebrating same-sex love. It is even bookended by gay weddings, which is curious and astonishing considering that it is supposed to be about the run-of-the-mill romance between a boy and a girl.

Bakit Lahat ng Gwapo May Boyfriend?! is a charming movie. It is generally well-acted, with Curtis providing the movie with tons of charisma. It is dutifully entertaining. MANILA, Philippines – Filipino-Swiss race car driver Marlon Stockinger said that he's "been seeing" Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, according to a new report from Push.com.
Marlon, who attended the Star Magic Ball 2016 on Saturday, October 22 said that they want to keep things low-key, according to the report.
"The truth? Let's put it this way, if Pia was here tonight she'd be my date here so yeah, obviously we see each other but we just want to keep it down low pretty much but yeah, I've been seeing Pia," he said.
Marlon said that he's very happy to be given the chance to get to know Pia beyond her being a beauty queen and celebrity.
"It's amazing! Pia is very beautiful of course, that is the reason why she is Miss Universe. I just feel lucky that we got to meet and we've been seeing each other," he said.
He admitted that seeing Pia is quite challenging since she's based in the US, while he travels back and forth from Europe to Asia.
For now, Marlon said that he and Pia are in the early stages and he's looking forward what happens next for them.
MANILA, Philippines – Alden Richards and Darren Espanto were the big winners for the music category in the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Music and Televison (M-TV) 2016 held on Sunday, October 23 at the Novotel in Cubao.
Alden won Pop Album of the Year and Best Pop Artist along with Darren, who took home the Best Album Cover award.
Alden was unable to come to the event, but his awards were accepted by representatives from GMA Network
The Pilita Corrales Lifetime Achievement award was given to singer Dulce while the Levi Celerio award was given to Vic del Rosario. His son accepted the award on his behalf.

MANILA, Philippines – Kathryn Bernardo was one of the stars shining bright on the Star Magic Ball 2016 red carpet last Saturday, October 22. But just how did Kathryn prepare for the big night?

MANILA, Philippines – Jake Ejercito hasn't said much about his daughter Ellie since he was named as the father back in September. But in an interview with Pep after the Star Awards for Music and Television on Sunday, October 23, Jake spoke about Ellie, fatherhood, and more.
“I mean, hindi naman deserve ni Ellie na, you know, na itago. (I mean, Ellie does not deserve to be hidden.)
“Never ko naman siyang ikinahiya, e,” he said. (I was never ashamed of her.)
Andi's sister Maxene Eigenmann previously said that Jake was the father of Ellie in a guest appearance on Mo Twister's podcast.
Jake said that he refused to talk about the issue because he was only trying to protect Ellie and because many people got involved in the issue.
Jake said that initially, he was surprised when he found out he was Ellie's dad, but that he's happy and has no regrets. He also said that he has always been there, even since Andi's pregnancy.
Jake said that Ellie has brought him so much inspiration and changed his life.

MANILA, Philippines – Exes Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson are going to star in a new TV project together! The two will lead the cast of a new drama entitled Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin.

MANILA, Philippines – Maja Salvador and Gerald Anderson may have broken up, but Maja has nothing but nice things to say when asked about the upcoming reunion project of her ex with his ex, Kim Chiu.
"Ako, masaya ako. Bakit? Kasi, ang saya tingnan na lahat nag-grow. Yung parang lahat nag-heal na, lalo na kay Kim," Maja said during the blog conference for her upcoming concert Only Maja on Tuesday, October 25.
(For me, I'm very happy. Why? Because it's great that everyone has grown. That all have healed, especially with Kim.)
"Nakita natin lahat ng sakit na pinagdaanan niya 'di ba? Now, sobrang woman na siya, na she’s accepting lahat ng challenges at wala na siyang pake na may mag-bash sa kanya or what. Napaka-professional niya na tao and I’m very happy sa kung anong klaseng babae ngayon si Kim."
(We all saw what she's been through, right? Now, she's really a woman, that she's accepting all the challenges and she does not care if people will bash her or what. She's very professional and I'm very happy about that Kim is the kind of woman she is now.)
At the blog conference, Maja was also asked if she's open to working with Kim and Gerald in the future.
"If maganda 'yung istorya, bakit hindi. Tulad nga lagi namin sinasabi na, trabaho is trabaho. At saka magkakatrabaho at magkakatrabaho kami. 'Yung ayaw namin mga makatrabaho, makakatrabho at makakatrabho namin…ang daming pwedeng mangyari sa industriya at no choice kami dahil iisang industriya lang kami and isa lang. Ang gusto namin– ang makakagawa ng isang magandang proyekto, isang magandang pelikula, magandang teleserye para mapasaya po namin kayong lahat," she said.
(If the story is good, why not. As we've always said, work is work. And we will work with each other time and again. The ones we don't want to work with, we will work with...there are so many things that can happen in the industry and we have no choice because we're in one industry. What we want, is to make a beautiful project, a nice film, a nice series, so we can make make all of you happy.)
Maja said she's also sure that Kimerald fans are looking forward to seeing them together again: "For sure yung Kimerald fans sobrang masaya. Six years di ba? At iyon, ang galing ng ABS-CBN na talagang hangga’t kaya pinagbibigyan ang mga supporters..."
(For sure the Kimerald fans are very happy. It's been 6 years, right? And there, ABS-CBN is so good, because if it's possible, they'll give in to the supporters...)
As for her relationship with two, Maja said she and Kim are friends, while she and Gerald are civil with each other.
"With Kim, masasabi ko na we’re friends. Bakit? We’re friends kasi okay na okay kami. Hindi lang like before pero masasabi ko na we’re friends."
(With Kim, I can say that we're friends. Why? We're friends because we're very okay now. It's not just like before, but I can say now that we're friends.)
"Kay Gerald, siyempre sabihin natin na civil. Hindi ko siya sinasasnub. But respeto, kasi parehas kami nasa iisang network, siyempe parehas kami na may magandang past relationship, 'di ba? Maganda naman yung pinagsamahan namin. At wala naman kaming nireregret sa lahat na nangyari sa akin or sa past, sa mga pangyayari sa buhay... positive lang yung gusto ko, masaya."
(Kay Gerald, of course we can say that we're civil. I don't snub him. But respect, because we both belong to one network, we both had a great past relationship, right? We had a good relationship. And I don't regret anything that happened to me or in my past, in what happened in my life... I just want to be positive, to be happy.)
"Greatest gift naming siguro iyon (friendship). Bihira ang mabigyan uli ng chance. Sinasabi ko nga, hindi sobrang parehas ng friendship namin before, but at least proud ako na sabihin na friends kami ngayon," she said.

Maja however said that she would rather not talk much about her friendship with Kim, saying she does not want to be accused of using her.
"Hindi naman natin maiiwasan because Kim is a superstar. And may mga fans na talagang may magsasabing ganun but sana, ma-feel din nila yung sincerity ko," she said.
(We cannot avoid it because Kim is a superstar. And there are fans who will always have something to say but I hope they will feel my sincerity.)
And as for working with Kim and Gerald, Maja said she's open to working with them individually and not together.
"Ito lang iyon, siguro maging masaya na lang tayo na lahat okay na. Hindi naman sa tatanggi, pero kung ako kayo, nangyari iyon sa inyo, ilalagay nyo ba ang sarili nyo sa position na iyon? Na pagfiefiestahan ng tao nung ganun?
(Okay it's like this, let's all be happy that everything is okay. It's not that I'm declining outright but if you were in my position, it happened to you, will you put yourself in that situation? That everyone will talk about you?)
"Pwede ko makatrabaho si Kim okay, Pwede ko makatrabaho si Gerald okay. Pero yung kaming tatlo, isama pa lahat, parang bakit mo ilalagay yung sarili mo, ba’t ka papayag?" she said.
(I can work with Kim, okay. I can work with Gerald, okay. But for the 3 of us to be in one project, why would you put yourself in that position, why would you allow that?)
And as for Gerald and actress Bea Alonzo who were together at the Star Magic Ball, Maja said: Wala. Sabi ko nga, Bea is happy, I'm very happy. Sinagot ko na iyon na wala ako sa posisyon na hadlangan ang kasiyahan ng isang tao and makikita nyo naman sa mukha ko kung hindi pa ako naka-move on,"she said.
