“It’s totally different in any other countries. Like I’ve done a movie in Thailand and in Taiwan. But this one is different... everyone is nice, they spoil me," she said.
"The working hours were really crazy. Really crazy, like more than 15 hours a day but still because it was that long, I got to know the cast more. The more I stay, the more I fall in love with the Philippines," she said.
As for her career in the adult film industry, Maria said she has no plans of even going back.
"I haven’t done those [films] in 5 or 6 years, and yeah I quit the industry 100%. That’s why I’ve been doing movies in Thailand and Taiwan and traveling to China every month for a club event,"she said.
Aside from making films, Maria has a club in Japan which she manages. She said she would love to open a bar in the county, as she loves to drink.

Maria also said that she is still open to working with Robin Padilla despite their misunderstanding. Robin was the original leading man in Nilalang before Cesar came on board. However, he decided to back out after his wife Mariel Rodriguez became pregnant and later suffered a miscarriage. Maria later made a public apology after she posted he was unprofessional for leaving the project.
She also said that she cannot compare Cesar and Robin as she did not meet Robin at all.
"For that don’t know because I haven’t met Robin, so I don’t know how to compare," she said.
She described leading man Cesar Montano as a gentleman.
"He was really nice, kind and handsome. I think he was really a good leading man," she said.
When asked how Cesar made her comfortable during the making of the film, Maria said: "He worries about me if I’m okay and keeps me company."
In Nilalang, Maria plays a daughter of a Yakuza member. Cesar is a cop who seeks her help in a series of murders.

WASHINGTON DC, USA – Playboy will stop publishing the photographs of the fully nude women so closely associated with it, declaring such pictures have become "passe" in the Internet age where free pornography is readily available.
The decision came after a top editor of the adult magazine met with its founder Hugh Hefner at the Playboy Mansion last month, according to chief executive Scott Flanders.
Starting in March, Playboy's revamped print edition will still include photographs of women in provocative poses.
They just won't be nude anymore, Flanders told The New York Times in an interview published Tuesday, October 13.
"You're now one click away from every sex act imaginable for free. And so it's just passe at this juncture," he said.
It's a remarkable move for a magazine that launched in 1953 with a sultry Marilyn Monroe on its cover, breaking the taboo of showing women au naturel.
But with pornographic images now so readily available online, and accessible via a variety of connected devices, Playboy is selling fewer and fewer copies.
The magazine's circulation decreased from 5.6 million in 1975 to about 800,000 now, the Times said, citing Alliance for Audited Media figures. And at its peak, it sold more than 7 million copies, in November 1972.
In order to be allowed on now-ubiquitous social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram that drive Internet traffic, Playboy has already made some content safer, according to Flanders.
After its website went nude-free in August 2014, the average reader age fell from 47 to just above 30, and Internet traffic soared from 4 million to 16 million unique visitors per month, executives told the Times.
For its latest redesign, the magazine sought to answer the question: "if you take nudity out, what's left?" he explained.
Cory Jones, the chief content officer who met with 89-year-old Hefner last month, told the Times that the magazine will still feature a Playmate of the Month, though the images will now be "PG-13."
And it's unclear whether or not the centerfold will survive the chopping block.
What comes next?
The Playboy brand, with its trademark tuxedo bow tie-adored bunny silhouette logo, has had a major impact on the media world.
In addition to its sexy centerfolds – usually featuring a nude female model, or Playmate – and covers, the magazine is also known for its fascinating interviews with defining cultural figures of the moment.
The first Playboy interview was conducted by writer Alex Haley with Miles Davis, in which the jazz great shared candid views on racism.
"This whole prejudice mess is something you would feel so good if it could just be got rid of, like a big sore eating inside of your belly," Davis said at the time.
There were also interviews with Malcolm X and with Martin Luther King Jr, in which he discussed the civil rights movement he led and said "America today is an extremely sick nation."
And then there was then-presidential candidate Jimmy Carter admitting to have lusted for other women "in my heart," or an interview with John Lennon and Yoko Ono, which hit newsstands around the time of the Beatles co-founder's December 1980 death.
Playboy has also published short stories by prominent novelists like Vladimir Nabokov, Haruki Murakami and Margaret Atwood, as well as cartoons by the likes of Shel Silverstein.
Some of the world's most famous photographers, including Helmut Newton and Annie Leibovitz, have provided Playboy the photographs that live on and are forever associated with the magazine.
Celebrities of all stripes have posed before the camera lens for Playboy at the height of their careers, from Kim Basinger to Drew Barrymore, Madonna, Farrah Fawcett, Sharon Stone, La Toya Jackson, wrestlers Torrie Wilson and Chyna and gymnast Svetlana Khorkina. – Olivia Hampton, AFP/Rappler.com
MANILA, Philippines – Cesar Montano said that he and son Diego Loyzaga are okay and that he's proud of his accomplishments. He also gave an update on his project and relationship with daughters with estranged wife Sunshine Cruz.
In an interview with the press on Monday, October 12 for the movie Nilalang with Japanese actress Maria Ozawa, Cesar said that he and Diego are in touch with each other. Diego is his son with actress Teresa Loyzaga.
"Okay kami, lagi kami connected. Nag tetext kami. I’m very proud about my son sa FAMAS. Ang ganda-ganda ng career niya. I’ve been hearing so much good feedback about his acting, his performance. Tuwang-tuwa ako. Tuwing nagkikita kami para kaming nag-aacting workshop sa bahay," he said.
(We're okay, we're always connected. We text each other. I'm very proud about my son's achievement at the FAMAS Awards. His career is going well. I’ve been hearing so much good feedback about his acting, his performances. I'm very happy. When we see each other, it's like we're doing an acting workshop at home.)
Diego received the German Moreno Youth Achievement Award at the 2015 FAMAS Awards.
As for the relationship with his 3 daughters with estranged wife Sunshine Cruz, Cesar admitted that he has not communicated with them since a case is still pending before the court. Last March, Sunshine filed a case against Cesar for allegedly violating the Anti Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC) act. “Well, now, wala pa ako masabi dun kasi isinama ng dati kong asawa yung pangalan ng tatlong anak ko sa case namin.
(Well, now, I cannot say anything about it because my ex-wife put the names of our 3 kids in the case.)
"And it's inside the circle of gag order kaya wala ako masabi (I can't say anything). Although I hate the idea, wala akong magagawa (I cannot do anything)," he said.
Cesar also said that he was disappointed that the camp of his estranged wife has not been cooperating with them.
“Hindi nakikipag-cooperate sila, (they're not cooperating with us) which is actually against the law.
“Kasama yun sa agreement namin pero hindi nila ginagawa, (It's part of our agreement but they're not doing their part)," he said.
Despite the situation, Cesar said he hopes to have his relationship with Sunshine and his kids fixed soon. He said he longs to be with his daughters and is glad that he has the movie, his painting, and other activities to keep him busy.
The celebrity gossip website reported that Odom, who won NBA titles with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009 and 2010, was hospitalized after he was found unconscious in his room at the Love Ranch, a legal brothel in Pahrump, Nevada.
In August of 2013 Odom, the subject of a rash of news stories about alleged drug use and troubles in his marriage to Kardashian, was arrested for drunk driving.
Kardashian filed for divorce from Odom in December of 2013, although the split was not immediately finalized.
Odom, who was the 2011 6th man of the year as the NBA's top reserve and won Olympic bronze with the USA in Athens, has endured numerous personal hardships in his life.
He was raised by his grandmother after his mother died of colon cancer when he was 12 years old.
He was estranged from his heroin-addict father at an early age and in 2006 his 6-month-old son Jayden, one of three children with his onetime girlfriend Liza Morales, died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. – Rappler.com
STOCKHOLM, Sweden – After its kids' video featuring animated dancing genitals went viral earlier this year, a Swedish children's show is now launching a video of singing tampons to teach youngsters about menstruation.
"The Period Song" will air Friday, October 16 on the Barnkanalen children's channel of public service Swedish Television (SVT), in a bid to destigmatize the subject and explain menstruation to children, SVT said.
One of the channel's young hosts, Alex Hermansson, sings with teenagers and pulls on the tampons' strings to make them dance like marionettes before submerging them in a glass of red-colored water.
The first verse goes: "It's a thing that happens to girls sometimes/ They don't want to talk about it/ Maybe they're a bit ashamed/ They don't want us to know anything at all/ But we know, that it, it's something totally normal/ We just need to be a little extra nice to them/ Show a little patience/ It's just a little blood."
"Period, period, hip hip hooray for period!/ The body's working as it should/ And that is really, really good –hooray!" it continues, as red drops splatter on the screen and are painted in the background.
Menstruation "is a sign that as of now the body can create a life," Hermansson told the daily Expressen.
A clip produced and aired by SVT in January featured animated male and female genitals, called "Snoppen och Snippan" in Swedish and translated into English as "Willie and Twinkle". It has been viewed on YouTube more than 6.4 million times.
That clip was intended as an educational tool, and was made after the word "snippan" was invented by a group of women who were dismayed by the lack of an acceptable slang term for vagina.
The clip divided opinion worldwide due to the realistic representation of the sexual organs.

Her character Juliette Barnes in the series also battles postpartem depression.

She spoke further about the subject during a television show in September, saying she could relate to her character in Nashville.
"(Juliette) went through that, which was something that I can very much relate to and something that I know a lot of women experience," she said.

The Oscar-winning actress blasted pay inequality between the sexes in her post for Lenny, a newsletter co-founded by Lena Dunham, but admitted she had failed to tackle the issue out of fear of being labeled "difficult" or "spoiled."
She said that when she found out from Sony emails leaked last year that she was paid less than her male co-stars in the hit-movie American Hustle, she didn't get mad at Sony but at herself.
"I would be lying if I didn't say there was an element of wanting to be liked that influenced my decision to close the deal without a real fight," Lawrence said in her post.
"At the time, that seemed like a fine idea, until I saw the payroll on the Internet and realized every man I was working with definitely didn't worry about being 'difficult' or 'spoiled.'"
The Hunger Gamesactress added that male colleagues appeared annoyed when she had recently shared her opinion about sexism in the industry.
"I'm over trying to find the 'adorable' way to state my opinion and still be likable! F-ck that," she wrote. "I don't think I've ever worked for a man in charge who spent time contemplating what angle he should use to have his voice heard. It's just heard."
She also said she found it offensive that one of the hacked Sony emails had referred to fellow movie star Angelina Jolie as a "spoiled brat."
"For some reason, I just can't picture someone saying that about a man," she wrote.
Celebrities have voiced out their support for Lawrence, including her American Hustle co-star, Bradley Cooper. In an interview for Entertainment Weekly, Cooper responded to Lawrence's essay, saying, "There's a double standard in the whole world, yeah, for sure. This is just one aspect. Anytime there's a place where a voice can come out and be outspoken, that's great."
In an earlier interview with E! News, Cooper said that he hadn't read the essay, but found what Lawrence did "interesting." "If you think that you only deserve a certain amount and that's not correct, it's about changing that mindset and sticking up for yourself the way that Sienna did," said Cooper. Sienna Miller, Cooper's American Sniper co-star, turned down a role when she discovered that she would be paid less than half of her male co-stars.
Other celebrities have shown their support on social media.

NEW YORK, USA – Conde Nast, the media group behind influential magazines such as The New Yorker and Vanity Fair, said Tuesday, October 13 it was buying the taste-making indie rock site Pitchfork.
Conde Nast, which did not reveal financial terms, said it was drawn to Pitchfork's youthful audience and social media strength as the magazine publisher looks to expand further its digital base.
"Pitchfork is a distinguished digital property that brings a strong editorial voice, an enthusiastic and young audience, a growing video platform and a thriving events business," Bob Sauerberg, the president and CEO of Conde Nast, said in a statement.
Ryan Schreiber, the founder and CEO of Pitchfork, said that the deal "will allow us to extend our coverage of the artists and stories that shape the music landscape on every platform."
Started in Chicago in 1996 at the dawn of the age of widespread Internet access, Pitchfork has become a kingmaker in its reviews and news on bands, particularly niche artists on independent labels.
Pitchfork has since expanded into the rapidly growing festival market, throwing annual concerts in Chicago and Paris, and has branched into print with the quarterly The Pitchfork Review.
With the rise of digital music, online sites have grown in influence and are often the first source for music lovers looking to discover new material.

MANILA, Philippines –The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) released on Wednesday, October 14, the results of the Gender and Development conference with It’s Showtime management regarding the Pastillas Girl segment.
In a 3-page document, the show and the board agreed to the following: Angelica Yap aka Pastillas Girl will be protected as young woman, with the program continuously "introducing scenes depicting her empowerment as a person while she faces various challenges in her young life.” According to the board, it will help go beyond the impression that Angelica is just looking for a boyfriend on the segment.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Atm:Chair Toto addresses gender-sensitivity concerns pertaining to the program "It's Showtime." <a href="http://t.co/EuIFHTZTxZ">pic.twitter.com/EuIFHTZTxZ</a></p>— MTRCB (@MTRCBgov) <a href="https://twitter.com/MTRCBgov/status/653763817319477248">October 13, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>{/source}
The document also said that the program should also continue briefing Angelica before the segment as she is now a “public figure,” and thus might be considered a role model for many viewers. This will also ensure that everything is aligned with the program's PG rating.
Aside from this, the board acknowledged that the show provided a life coach to assist Angelica. "Our special sub-committee also acknowledged your manifestation that you have actually provided Ms. Yap a life coach so that she may be guided as to how to mold her character positively and enable her to plan her life with care and informed choices, to the end that she will hopefully be able to avoid the eadier pitfalls she experienced. It may be good to bring this out in the progam upon prior consultation with Ms. Yap and her family," said the letter.
Finally, the board acknowledged that Showtime said that the outfits worn on the show go through a 3-tiered screening process, and that it is the show's rule to "require prior rehearsal by any performer for review and approval by program executives, to the end that the number does not violate any norm of gender-sensitivity or other rule."
Last October 6, the MTRCB issued a letter to meet executives of It's Showtime's management after getting complaints from viewers and groups about the segment.
It's Showtime issued a statement on October 8, saying that they were not "pimping" Angelica on the show, saying Angelica was never forced to do the segment.
Angelica became popular after her video went viral on social media. In the video, she recited the ingredients of pastillas de leche (soft milk candy) in relation to her being dumped by her boyfriend. (READ: Meet 'Pastillas Girl,' on a quest to find love)

He did not reveal further details – or ticket information – but said the naked show would be filmed for a music video.
Laws on public nudity vary widely around the world, but Cyrus and The Flaming Lips presumably would work with a private venue.
The 22-year-old Cyrus, who describes herself as pansexual and has not been shy about sexually explicit performances, in August released a surprise album, Miley Cyrus& Her Dead Petz, in a collaboration with The Flaming Lips.
While the 54-year-old Coyne and his bandmates are less known for sex appeal, The Flaming Lips have been known since the 1990s for energetic and extravagant concerts in which the singer surfs through the crowd from inside a balloon. – Rappler.com

Lamar was found unconscious at the Love Ranch brothel and taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center by ambulance.
NBC News reported Wednesday night that sources told them that Lamar suffered brain damage and at least one stroke and is on a ventilator.
Police spokesperson Sharon Wehrly said they received a 911 call from two workers at the brothel who said a man was discovered unconscious and had been using cocaine.
"During that call, the reporting parties informed the Nye County Sheriff's Office dispatch the male had been using cocaine," she said. "They confirmed his usage on Saturday but was unsure if it had continued.
"They also informed dispatch that he had used up to 10 tabs of sexual performance enhancer supplements over the last three-day period. He was unconscious but breathing.
"He had blood coming from his nose and his mouth, along with a white substance."
She said police detectives obtained a search warrant allowing them to collect a sample of Lamar's blood. That blood was drawn Wednesday and was shipped to a lab for testing.
With Lamar
According to nbcnews.com, Kim Kardashian West and Kris Jenner, Khloe Kardashian's sister and mom, were with Khloe at the hospital.
According to E! News, Khloe flew Lamar's dad Joe and Lamar's kids Destiny and Lamar Jr out to Nevada so they could be with Lamar.
A separate report on E! also says that Khloe's sister Kourtney, and half-sister Kendall Jenner also arrived at the hospital, and that Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce Jenner, Khloe's stepdad, was on the way to Nevada.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Khloe and Lamar are actually still legally married as their divorce, though papers have been signed, has not yet been processed. This means that it's possible that she might be in a position to make medical decisions about Lamar.

MANILA, Philippines – Maja Salvador said that she has moved on from ex-boyfriend Gerald Anderson, during a press conference for her concert, MAJAsty.
The 27-year-old actress, singer, and dancer said that although she and Gerald talk to each other, they haven't gotten past the "awkward stage" of the breakup. The former couple was together for two years before they decided to take a break in April.
Maja shared to the press after the conference that Gerald greeted her during her birthday on October 5, and she thanked him. "Pero parang diba nasa awkward stage pa naman din kasi kami, na parang ano bang dapat pag-uusapan? Pero unit-unti [kaming magiging on speaking terms]."
(But we're still at the awkward stage right, in the sense like what should we talk about? But we'll be on speaking terms little by little.)
And while it's too early to tell whether they can truly be friends again, Maja said that she's open to the possibility. "Nandoon lang kami sa stage ngayon na medyo parang ang awkward pang maging friends talaga kasi siyempre ilang – buwan na ba? Ilang buwan na ba?" Maja said, laughing.
(We're at that stage right now that it's still awkward to be friends because it's only been – is it months already? How many months has it been?)
There's no doubt though, that she's moved on. Maja repeatedly dropped to a curious press that she's currently texting someone, but it's too early for her to tell if it's going to go anywhere.
Maja is already being linked to the people she's working with, including Ang Probinsyano co-star Coco Martin, and MAJAsty guest performers Piolo Pascual and Paulo Avelino. Maja works with Piolo on the variety show ASAP 20 too and Maja will star with in a movie with Paulo, which will be released in 2016.
Maja also revealed that she and Gerald already had their closure when they broke up. "Kasi ano naman yan eh, ang breakup kasi sa akin hindi naman agad diba? Ano yan eh ilang buwan bago talaga mafinalize na, wala na, breakup, pero pagdating – pag nakipagbreak ako alam ko na wala na din talaga."
(Because a breakup, for me, doesn't happen right away right? It happens over months before it gets finalized, that it's over, breakup, but when – when I break up with someone, I know that it's really over.)
She also said that e won't give her relationship with Gerald a second chance, simply saying, "'Di kasi po ako ganoon eh." (I'm not like that.)
Patched-up friendship
Maja also spoke about her friendship with Kim Chiu, who she had a falling out with after she started dating Gerald, because he dated Kim before Maja. The 3 reconciled in April 2014.
Maja said during the conference that when she and Kim see each other today, it's as if nothing happened. Sometimes, people will look at her and Kim because they don't understand what they find so funny. "Paunti-unti, sabi ko nga po, unti-unti namin binubuo, pero ayun, tingnan natin."
(Little by little, like I said, we're making our friendship whole little by little, but we'll see.)
"May mga bagay kasi na kaming dalawa lang ni Kim na nakakaalam at nakakaintindi, kaya siguro yung hindi nawala talaga yung friendship," added Maja.
(There are some things that only Kim and I know and understand, I guess that's why the friendship didn't completely disappear.)
When someone commented on her postive attitude towards Kim and her ex-boyfriend Gerald, Maja replied that she can't blame anyone for the choices she made. "Yung mga pinasok ko na relasyon, ginusto ko naman yun eh, and wala akong dapat isisi sa ibang tao dahil it's my choice. Ako yun, ako yung may desisyon na mapunta sa ganong sitwasyon kaya anuman yung resulta ng mga pinasok ko na sitwasyon na 'yon, hindi ko pwedeng isisi sa iba, kasi it's my own choice," she said.
(The relationships that I entered were my choice, I wanted them, and I shouldn't blame other people because it's my choice. It was me, I made the decision that led to the situation so whatever the result of entering that situation was, I can't blame others because it's my own choice.)
After the conference, Maja told reporters that whatever weight she felt during her falling out with Kim is equal to the lightness she feels when they can laugh together now as if nothing happened.
It was probably the concern they felt for each other during the falling out that made it so easy to be friends again, Maja said. "Siguro sa relasyon na magkaibigan hindi magiging buo ang samahan niyo yung pagkakaibigan niyo kung di kayo dumaan sa isang matinding pagsubok din, at kami ni Kim, nalampasan namin 'yun, 'di man kami kung paano kami dati, pero happy ako na minsan magkatext kami or minsan, pag nagkita kami, parang walang nangyari."
(I guess in a relationship between friends, your friendship won't be whole until you go through difficulties, and me and Kim, we've gotten past that, we may not be the same as we were before, but I'm happy that we text sometimes, or sometimes when we see each other, it's like nothing happened.)
Maja's MAJAsty concert will be on November 13 at the Mall of Asia Arena. Aside from Piolo and Paulo, her guest performers include Kakai Bautista, Rayver Cruz, Enchong Dee, JC De Vera, and Enrique Gil. – Rappler.com
MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Bianca Gonzalez Intal took to Twitter to defend herself after posting an opinion about fans' intense dedication to getting a topic trending online.
According to a report from Pep, the conversation started from Bianca's tweet, which read: "The pressure that some fans put on themselves to trend is getting out of hand. I hope they know that’s not what matters most." The tweet currently does not appear on her page.
While she did not mention any names, many fans of the AlDub tandem (or Alden Richards and Maine "Yaya Dub" Mendoza) posted their reactions. Some of them questioned Bianca's post. Bianca said she was just concerned about the priorities of today's teens.

They decided to use the chance to voice their displeasure with its depiction of people from the Middle East and Asia.
"Homeland's representation of people from the Arab and Muslim world... has on several occasions erred," Kapp told Agence France Presse from Berlin.
"It has painted Muslims mainly as antagonists and the protagonists are allowed to torture and murder them."
In the second episode of the latest series, main character Carrie Mathison, played by American actress Claire Danes, can be seen walking past a breeze-block wall on which is written in black spray paint: "Homeland is racist".
Other slogans called the show "a watermelon" – Arabic vernacular indicating something farcical – and included the social media hashtag #BlackLivesMatter, which has become the rallying cry of the US movement outraged over police killings of unarmed African Americans.
Kapp said the 3 artists were encouraged by producers to "come up with our own material" and were given free rein over what they wrote, providing it wasn't political.
"Our intention with this was to generate a discussion," he said. "It was also a call for a more differentiated representation of people from the Middle East and South East Asia."
Past controversies
The multi-award-winning show is no stranger to controversy, having drawn derision during its second season for featuring a joint plot between Al-Qaeda and Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah – two groups currently waging fierce battles against each other in Syria.
It also came under fire for filming episodes set in Beirut in Israel's Haifa, and its 4th season was lambasted by a Pakistani diplomat for depicting his country as a "hellhole".
Stone, one of the artists, said the 3 knew their stunt could succeed due to producers' "faux pas in the past and not caring about the culture they depict".
Kapp admitted they were concerned they would be rumbled by producers on set, but said it was "an opportunity we wouldn't have been comfortable" to miss.
"We never thought the episode would air," he said. "We thought someone would look in the edit and we were very surprised to find that this made it in.
"From the beginning we were aware of the risk."
In a statement posted on Amin's website, the trio, while admitting Homeland "looks good and is well-acted and produced" said it had "garnered the reputation of being the most bigoted show on television".
Showtime, which makes the series, has yet to comment on the graffiti controversy, but producer Alex Gansa said he wished the makers "had caught these images before they made it to air".
He told Deadline entertainment website: "We can't help but admire this act of artistic sabotage".
Stone told Agence France Presse that reaction to the stunt had been "overwhelming" but added it was unlikely to alter the show's popularity or its approach to Muslims and the Middle East.

MANILA, Philippines – Fans may have speculated that Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" is about singer Katy Perry, but Taylor said that the song – and what she previously said about it – never pointed fingers at anyone.
"You’re in a Rolling Stone interview, and the writer says, 'Who is that song about? That sounds like a really intense moment from your life.' And you sit there, and you know you’re on good terms with your ex-boyfriend, and you don’t want him – or his family – to think you’re firing shots at him.
"So you say, 'That was about losing a friend.' And that’s basically all you say. But then people cryptically tweet about what you meant. I never said anything that would point a finger in the specific direction of one specific person, and I can sleep at night knowing that.
"I knew the song would be assigned to a person, and the easiest mark was someone who I didn’t want to be labeled with this song. It was not a song about heartbreak. It was about the loss of friendship."
Although GQ writer Chuck Klosterman pointed out that nobody thought that the song was about a guy, Taylor insisted that people still would have assumed that it was. "And nothing could be further from the truth. It was important to show that losing friendships can be just as damaging to a person as losing a romantic relationship."
Earlier in the GQ article, Taylor pointed out that by not specifying who her songs are about, the public tends to assume, and these assumptions become facts "in the general public's mind."
Her explanation for "Bad Blood" on GQ was given in response to a question about her allowing the public to "dictate the meaning of her work."
Taylor told Rolling Stone in 2014 that the song was about a female artist who tried to sabotage her arena tour. Because 3 of Taylor's backup dancers left her Red tour early to join Katy's Prismatic tour in 2014, rumors flew that the song was about Katy.
As the GQ interview points out, that "Bad Blood" was about losing a friend was not all Taylor said about the song to Rolling Stone.
"She did something so horrible. I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.' And it wasn't even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me," Taylor said in that interview.
In the same Rolling Stone interview, she also said, "But I just want people to know it's ('Bad Blood') not about a guy. You don't want to shade someone you used to date and make it seem like you hate him, when that's not the case."
Katy has mostly kept silent about the whole "Bad Blood" issue, though she previously tweeted who tweeted a cryptic message after the interview came out, saying: "Watch out for the Regina George in sheep's clothing..."
Most recently, Katy did tweet something that had many fans talking. In July, Taylor misunderstood Nicki Minaj's tweet about not being nominated for an MTV Video Music Award, thinking that Nicki was "pitting women against each other." In response to Nicki and Taylor's exchange, Katy tweeted, "Finding it ironic to parade the 'pit women against other women' argument about as one unmeasurably capitalizes on the takedown of a woman."
