The romance in the middle of Jun Lana’s The Prenupis both sudden and silly.

Wendy (Jennlyn Mercado) meets Sean (Sam Milby) in a road accident. From being foes, they become acquainted while seated to each other in a long haul flight from Manila to New York City. They fall for each other while walking the streets of Manhattan. Before returning to Manila, Sean proposes to Wendy in what would seem like the perfect ending to a fantastic love story.

The film’s conflict arises when they arrive in Manila to prepare for their wedding. The couple discovers that despite their immense love for each other, their families who belong to different social classes, just can’t get along, hence, the need for the titular prenup.

All charm, no substance

It is a problematic setup.

Lana employs all the tricks of the trade to rush into a romance that becomes the center of the comedy of conflicts that the film ambitions for. The lovers Lana created are perfectly suited for each other. They are both unrealistically attractive. Their faults are endearing. Their connections are predictable. The contrivances that push them together are also a tad too convenient for comfort.

The result is a love that is all charm but without a lot of substance. Lana embraces the gloss, recruiting the aspirational glaze of Manhattan to add to the manufactured allure of the predictable story. Its quirks are derivative, with Lana fashioning Wendy out of the most successful of rom-com leading lady molds – the very modern and quick-witted hopeless romantic who pines for a long-lasting love life without being too dainty about lustful desires.

The romance the film serves is an idealistic one, a figment of fantasy rather than the core of a discourse. It is but the bait to a carefully draped agenda.

What ultimately separates The Prenupfrom the rest of is the noticeable abundance of gay characters. It isn’t strange to have romances provide a space for a gay character or two, perhaps to serve as a humorous sidekick to one of the leads. Lana however populates the film with more than just a token tribute or an erstwhile comic relief, leading to a notion that is more to the film than just momentary flutters for the heart.

Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of Wendy’s character is the fact that she was raised by a gay couple (Gardo Versoza and Dominic Ochoa). During her early conversations with Sean, she insists on that facet of her identity, almost to the point of refuting antiquated arguments regarding the repercussions of same sex unions. Later in the film, Versoza’s character confesses to Wendy of his own relationship difficulties.  

Clearly, this and the story’s preoccupation with the affairs of its gay characters are not mere coincidences. They are evidence that there is a grand design to direct a discourse towards an agenda that is bigger than an escapist notion of love, even if it was not the main intention of the film’s capitalist investors.

Cleverly subversive

The Prenup is cleverly subtle in its being subversive. The predictable story Lana has written is blunt in its depiction of true love, whether or not it is depicted within the realm of what is real and possible. That perfectly beautiful love is hindered by prejudice, which only becomes apparent when the lovers leave America and set foot on the Philippines.

Simply put, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to see the film as a commentary of the country’s backward appreciation of all types of love, as shown by a stubborn refusal to acknowledge to legalize same sex unions. The prenuptial agreement, with its unreasonable terms that are meant more to force the lovers into believing that their romance is a faraway dream, echoes the same traditional perception of love that fails to be inclusive.

Sadly, The Prenup still succumbs to convention, ending on an escapist note where staunch biases and prejudices are extinguished by a mere change of heart. In a way, the disappointingly agreeable conclusion to all intertwining conflicts that resulted from Wendy and Sean’s instant romance fails to acknowledge the pain and the struggle of being denied a love because of the flimsiest of reasons.

Still, it is admirable how Lana was able to say so much without breaking rules and pockets. – Rappler.com

Arthur Conan Doyle famously coined the phrase “Where there is no imagination there is no horror" in his 1887 Sherlock Holmes novel, A Study in Scarlet. Interestingly, Doyle is mentioned briefly in Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak where failed novelist and heiress Edith Cushing (Mia Wasikowska) teases her failed admirer and physician Alan McMichael (Charlie Hunnam) of his taste in literature.

As it turns out, the film could have bore more than a brief resemblance to Doyle’s mystery novel. In the film, Alan finds himself in the shoes of the famous detective when Edith’s father (Jim Beaver) is violently murdered, leaving Edith to marry debonair baronet Thomas Sharpe (Tom Hiddleston), and there's also her sister Lucille (Jessica Chastain). They turn out to be more than just the elegantly ruined aristocrats they purport to be.

The film has the makings of an elaborate murder mystery, with the dashing doctor as the lead and troubled Edith as the damsel in distress.

However, Del Toro has other things in mind. He spins the story around, putting his detail-hungry perspective on the intelligent but oddly romantic lass who finds herself trapped in a fable about a haunted house built on a mountain as red as romance.

Both victim and heroine

Crimson Peak has the feel of classic literature. Its movements are precise. Its characters tread paths that only an intelligent author can devise. Del Toro however twists the tale to suit contemporary needs without completely dismantling all the essential tropes. He does not see the need to reinvent the wheel and instead subverts the genre to bow down to his artistic desires.

So it is Edith who finds herself as both the victim and the heroine in her story. She follows the traditional setup of being seduced into a marriage of nefarious convenience only to end up in the middle of nowhere, imprisoned inside a neglected manor where phantoms roam bearing the ghastly sins of the past.

She succumbs to love, just like everybody else in the film, and pays dearly for it. Right from the start, she laments the lot of women, blaming her feminine handwriting for all the rejections her romantic ghost stories garnered.

Yet there she is, predictably falling head over heels for a princely Brit, just like all the commoners in the countless fairy tales that only reinforce the antiquated notion that women need men to survive, which in a way is the common misconception that allows men like Thomas to take advantage of heedless girls.

Beneath initial appearances is the real score. Midway through, Crimson Peak takes the tale into a direction where roles are reversed without them straying too far from the source. Edith does not transform into a brave woman, the proper poster girl for feminist agendas, but her actions reflect a design that treats her not as witless martyr but as a determined survivor. 

Gorgeous ghost story

See, Crimson Peak isn’t just a gorgeous ghost story. It is not an outdated tale of sadistic men and their fragile women. There is more to the extravagant designs and the erstwhile scares than just wily distractions to an otherwise empty vessel. Del Toro has actually crafted an intelligent story that frames modern sensibilities within characters that fit the stereotypes that are common to the genre.

Of course, that does not stop the fact that everything else is worth admiring. Crimson Peak is absolutely stunning. It plays like an ornate picture book where each frame is an image of an alternate reality where even ugliness is ravishing. Cinematographer Dan Laustsen rightfully drowns the film in color, creating an otherworldly mood that makes the seemingly cartoonic wraiths fit in.

It is good that Del Toro does not bother to commit to making the film look as realistic as possible. The film works precisely because it banks on fertile imagination. It does away with the notion that horror works within the realm of the familiar. Crimson Peak turns the world into a fantastic set-piece of noisy doors, rotting floor boards, and velvety mud spewing out of walls, and despite its obvious distance with reality, it all works because the film understands that what humans fear the most is not the supernatural but the morbid excesses of the natural. 

Deceptively fragrant

Del Toro has a talent for creating beauty out of blatant ugliness. Crimson Peak is full of ghosts, frightfully disemboweled, with axes on their head, and blood gruesomely flowing out of their wiry limbs. The haunted house is a rickety mess where its forgotten glory only adds to the malevolent atmosphere.

The Sharpe siblings are pasty white, garbed in costumes that scream their fearsome desperation. Despite all the abject ghastliness, it is almost impossible not to look. Del Toro has made everything seductively lush. 

However, it is the extent of the depravities that the human characters are capable of that makes the film truly memorable. The film is much more than an unforgettable parade of grotesque details. It is an immersive dive into a melodramatic world full of all types of wickedness, all of which Del Toro perfumes with scents that demand attention. Interestingly, the most deceptively fragrant of all the film’s wickedness is love. It is impossible not to swoon.– Rappler.com

MANILA, Philippines – Richard Juan was evicted from Pinoy Big Brother 737 on October 16. 

The other regular housemates nominated for eviction were Tommy Esguerra and Miho Nishida. The Teen Big 4, Ylona Jade Garcia, Franco Rodriguez, Hendrix "Jimboy" Martin, and Bailey Thomas May, were the ones who chose the nominees for this week. 

The Teen Big 4 joined the regular housemates in Kuya's house at the end of September.

For this eviction, viewers were allowed to choose to "vote to save" or "vote to evict." Miho was saved by the viewers with 28.18% of votes.

Housemate Jameson Blake was evicted last week. Margo Midwinter, James Linao and Philip Lampart have also been evicted this season, while Mikee Agustin, Charlone Petro, and Krizia Lusuegro were evicted all at once in a special eviction.

LOS ANGELES, USA – Lamar Odom, the two-time NBA champion and reality TV star fighting for his life after a brothel binge, regained consciousness in a Las Vegas hospital and was speaking Friday, October 16 his aunt's spokeswoman said.

Odom gave a "thumbs-up" to doctors and said a few words to them, Alvina Alston, publicist for Odom's aunt JaNean Mercer, told Agence France-Presse.

The 35-year-old Odom was hospitalized and had been on a life-supporting ventilator since Tuesday, when he was found unconscious at the Love Ranch brothel outside Las Vegas.

Daniel Artest, a longtime friend of Odom and brother of Los Angeles Lakers forward Metta World Peace – formerly Ron Artest – tweeted that Odom "did a little talking (and) breathing on his own," after being taken off the ventilator.

"Prayer really works!!!!!" tweeted Artest, shortly after describing Odom's condition as "still critical but stable."

Nye County Sheriff Sharon Wehrly has said officers who responded to an emergency call were told Odom had used cocaine and sexual performance enhancer supplements. 

An employee who called 911 said Odom was unresponsive with blood and "white stuff" dripping from his nose and mouth.

Amid an outpouring of support from former NBA teammates and with his estranged wife Khloe Kardashian at his side, Odom was reported to be making little progress on Wednesday and Thursday.

Some media cited sources as saying he had suffered at least one stroke and possible brain damage or other organ failure.

Kardashian, her sister Kim Kardashian and others in their celebrity clan posted matching statements on their websites saying they would take a break from publishing content on their various media platforms as they focus on Odom's recovery.

"As a family, we've decided to hold off on publishing content across our apps while we continue to support and pray for Lamar," the statement said. 

"Thank you for you kindness and understanding during this difficult time."

Odom married Khloe Kardashian in 2009 in a splashy televised wedding. She filed for divorce in 2013, but the split wasn't immediately finalized and she reportedly remains his next of kin, able to make medical decisions on his behalf.

Odom's Kardashian connection gained him even wider fame than the two NBA titles he won with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009 and 2010.

MANILA, Philippines – Three-year-old Mila finally met her celebrity crush. Adam Levine dropped by Ellen Degeneres' show to meet the little girl from the viral video, Mila, who was devastated to learn that he was married.

In the video above, Ellen asks Mila a little bit about her "boyfriend," Adam. "Have you ever talked to him or anything?" she asked, to which Mila answers, "No."

"Well, you will, I mean if he's your boyfriend, at some point you will," Ellen said reassuringly.

True enough, Ellen brought Adam out a few minutes later, so Mila could meet the love of her life for the first time.

Adam said that he had actually seen Mila's video, as "every single person in his entire life" sent it to him, including his real-life wife, Behati Prinsloo. "It was kind of heartbreaking but it was so unbelievably cute," said Adam.

Freelance engineer Allen Pan, who goes by the YouTube handle Sufficiently Advanced, probably drew inspiration for his moniker from a perennially quoted line from sci-fi luminary Arthur C. Clarke, “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic” (as The Guardianpoints out).

In his latest video upload, Pan encased a microwave oven’s transformer electromagnet inside an ornate replica of Mjölnir, and embedded a fingerprint scanner to its handle responding only to his touch. “Magnets that get turned off, if you’re me!” he said in the video.

MANILA, Philippines – The tamang panahon (right time) has finally arrived. After 3 months of waiting, Maine "Yaya Dub" and Alden Richards will be together, with their fans, for a special day at the Philippine Arena on October 24.

The AlDub tandem became popular back in July when Maine "Yaya Dub" Mendoza met Alden during the "Juan For All, All for Juan" segment. Alden accompanied Lola Nidora and her sisters, Tinidora and Tidora during one of the sugod bahay episodes from October 5 to 10, where he dressed up as a bodyguard. Yaya Dub was at the studio that day. Lola Nidora challenged Yaya to a game of rock, paper and scissors: if Yaya won, she and Alden could be together, but if not, Yaya would have to leave the studio and return to Lola Nidora. Yaya did not win, thus she returned to Lola Nidora and sisters to help.

From October 6 to 13, Alden was away due to his other commitments. The episodes focused on what Nidora, Tinidora and Tidora were doing to protect Yaya Dub from Isadora, who is said to be Yaya's real mother.

On October 14, Wednesday, Nidora and Tinidora forced Yaya Dub to go to Cebu, to their aunt Bebeng, after much discussion on how to protect her from Isadora. As Yaya was about to leave, Alden rushed to Broadway to get a glimpse of her before she left. Although he was late, Lola Nidora reminded them both, that while they are away from each other, it will give them time to do their own things.

On October 15, Thursday, Alden paid a visit to Nidora and Tinidora while celebrating AlDub's weeksary. He was game to sing and make some Dubsmash videos with them. It was there that Nidora said she has a surprise for them, but decided to wait for Yaya's arrival, after she lost to Alden in a game of rock, paper and scissors.

Yaya Dub came back from Cebu and she and Alden said hi to each other again, telling each other how much they missed one another. After seeing how much the two missed each other, Nidora finally shared the good news–through cupcake puzzle. Using the cupcakes, both Alden and Yaya Dub spelled "Tamang Panahon." Nidora said that the time has finally arrived, and Alden and Yaya Dub will see each other in person again, with no more conditions, on October 24, Saturday at the Philippine Arena.

Nidora explained that all members of the AlDub Nation are invited to the event for a special cause. The gathering will benefit the AlDub library project, where 100% of the ticket sales from the event will be given to the 3 elementary schools they picked.

Meanwhile, Isadora (played by Paolo Ballesteros) finally made an appearance, to Tinidora and Nidora's dismay. Nidora then asked Yaya to go near to her mother, it turns out that Isadora isn't mother at all, but just another lola (grandmother). The episode ends with Nidora asking why Isadora came back.

MANILA, Philippines – After weeks of searching, Angelica Jane Yap, aka Pastillas Girl, has found her Mr Pastillas on It's Showtime's segment, "Nasaan Ka Mr Pastillas?"

On October 17, it was revealed on It's Showtime's Cebu show that Angelica chose Richard "Chard" Parajinog to be Mr Pastillas. After handing her flowers, Chard and Angelica shared a dance on stage to "I Knew I Loved You" by Savage Garden.

"Alam kong mahiyain kang tao pero hindi iyon naging hadlang para mapakita mo kung sino ka," Angelica said before making her decision, according to ABS-CBN. 

(I know you're a shy person but that didn't become a hindrance for you to show your true self.)

Aside from Chard, Angelica's other suitors were Christopher "Topher" Labao and Michael Enriquez.

Angelica Jane Yap was known for her viral video where she explained how to make pastillas (soft milk candy) while expressing her bitterness of her ex-boyfriend.

It's Showtime then created a dating game segment to help Angelica find her Mr Right.

The segment was supposedly It's Showtime's answer to Eat Bulaga's popular AlDub tandem, wherein characters Alden (Alden Richards) and Yaya Dub (Maine Mendoza) are in love but were kept from being together by Yaya's boss, Lola Nidora (Wally Bayola).

Early in October, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) summoned the executives of It's Showtime regarding "gender sensitivity concerns" about the dating game segment.

The show released a statement a few days later, saying that they weren't "pimping" Angelica, and that she was not forced to do anything without her consent.

The issue was resolved on October 15, with the MTRCB releasing a statement document saying that the show must "introduce scenes depicting her empowerment as a person" and continue to brief Angelica before the segment, as she's now a public figure. – Rappler.com

PARIS, France – A public appeal by Celine Dion for new songs for her next album in French has been met with a flood of offered tunes, according to a former Canadian media boss close to the singer's manager. 

Around 4,000 songs were sent to Dion's website and management company by the October 5 deadline, Charles Benoit, ex-head of the Quebec TV arm of Canadian group Bell Media, told Agence France Presse this week. 

Dion's husband and manager, Rene Angelil, and the CEO of the Les Feeling Productions firm managing her career, Aldo Giampaolo, "were surprised by the dimensions this initiative has taken, and they asked me to organie the works' selection", he said.

The 47-year-old Canadian singer, most famous for performing "My Heart Will Go On" as the theme song for the hit 1997 movie Titanic, said she wanted new material for an album in French she's bringing out next year, and for another one in English in 2017.

The current crop of submitted songs are all for the French album and came by letter, social networks and MP3 files from France and other French-speaking countries.

They will be whittled down to just 25 songs by a panel of 6 French-language broadcast critics, said Pierre Fortier, a Quebec music festival director whom Benoit tapped to be in charge of the selection process. 

"Naturally, out of the 4,000 songs received, there aren't 4,000 hits, but we've already found several good ones," Fortier said.

An online vote open to the public through Dion's www.celinedion.com website will choose which one of the shortlisted 25 songs will make it on the singer's album, with the winner announced December 1. 

A 56-year-old French amateur singer-composer, Gilles Mazetto, said he hoped his submission, "Cicatrice Dedicacee" (roughly meaning 'autographed scar'), would make the cut.

"It's a message in a bottle I'm hoping will be picked up by Celine Dion," he said. 

"I think the song fits her repertoire: it talks about passing time, the moments that define our existence, of those that remain."

Dion's last album came out in 2013. In August, she resumed regular concerts she has been giving in Las Vegas since 2011 after taking a year-long hiatus to care for Angelil, 73, who has throat cancer. – Rappler.com

MANILA, Philippines – Rock group Kamikazee will hold their final concert on December 10 at the SMART Araneta Coliseum to culminate 15 colorful years in the industry. 

According to a press release, Kerwin Rosete, the group's manager, said the members want to take time off to concentrate on other matters and their families. It was announced this year that the 5-member group would take an indefinite leave from the music scene. 

"A few months ago, we said we would take a long break at the end of the year and nothing has changed," Kewin said. 

"The band are all still incredibly close to each other but after years of recording and playing live, the time is now right for them to step away from the stage and enjoy other aspects of their lives. And there’s no better way to finish than with a concert alongside many of their best friends, in one of Manila’s greatest arenas and in front of thousands of the best fans in the world."

In the same press release, Kerwin said that the group will work with Spicy Lemon, the people behind the concert to produce a concert the fans will enjoy as the group's way of giving back for the support. 

"As the guys have no plans to play again in the future, the concert on December 10 will be the perfect send-off and a fitting final show for both the band and all their fans," Kerwin said.

MANILA, Philippines – Comedian Willie Revillame is facing arrest over a previous child abuse case after the Court of Appeals (CA) affirmed the order from the Regional Trial Court (RTC) of Quezon City, which found probable cause to issue a warrant of arrest against him.

The CA's 13th Division did not find any abuse of discretion on the part of Quezon City RTC Branch 86 presiding judge Roberto Buenaventura when he issued the warrant of arrest in October 2013. This is according to a decision written by Associate Justice Ma. Luisa Quijano-Padilla.

The CA said that the case was delayed because of Willie's "refusal to submit to the trial court's jurisdiction and his erroneous invocation of the Rules in his favor."

"As there is probable cause for the petitioner's commission of a crime, his arrest and arraignment should now ensue so that this case may properly proceed to trial, where the merits of both parties' evidence and allegations may be weighed," the CA said.

The CA explained that Judge Buenaventura issued the warrant of arrest after his personal evaluation of the factual circumstances in Willie's case. Based on his evaluation, Willie committed a criminal offense, which is probable cause to apprehend him.

On the March 12, 2011 episode of the now-defunct show Willing Willie on TV5, a 6-year-old boy showed his "macho dancing" moves, which Willie asked him to repeat again. Wille later gave him P10,000 for repeating the dance.

This did not sit well with audiences. A complaint was sent to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and the DSWD later filed the case against Willie. The show was suspended for two weeks after the incident. 

Willie reformatted his show to Will Time Big Time but it folded up on January 5, 2013. Almost two weeks later, a new show, Wowowillie was launched. But in February 2013, Willie scolded host Ethel Booba and comedian Ate Gay on air for their behavior. Ethel left the show afterwards. Wowowillie ended in October 2013. 

He now hosts the show Wowowin on the GMA network, which started airing last April. – Rappler.com

Chito also called on voters to go beyond social media and do their research on the candidates.

VIENNA, Austria – Former Miss Austria Ena Kadic is in a critical condition after she fell down a mountain while jogging in her home state of Tyrol, police said Sunday, October 18.

The 26-year-old had been running along the Bergisel mountain when she suddenly fell and plunged off the side on Friday, police spokesman Ernst Kranebitter said.

Two students discovered the severely injured woman near the Drachenfelsen (Dragon rock) panorama platform overlooking the steep ravine of the Sill river.

Shortly after hitting the ground, Kadic managed to call her brother and inform him of the accident before losing consciousness, Kranebitter said.

She was rescued by helicopter and taken to a hospital in the city of Innsbruck, where she has not yet regained consciousness.

The exact circumstances surrounding the accident remain unclear, but police said the 2013 beauty competition winner was an avid runner who knew the area well. – Rappler.com

LOS, ANGELES, USA – Lamar Odom, the two-time NBA champion and reality TV star left fighting for life after a brothel binge, continues to improve in a Las Vegas hospital, US media reported Sunday, October 18. (READ: Lamar Odom regains consciousness after brothel binge – aunt)

The 35-year-old remained in the intensive care unit at Sunrise Hospital with serious medical concerns. But E! News, without citing its source, reported on its website that Odom had shown he could swallow – a sign of neurological function – and had been helped out of bed and into a chair for the first time since he was admitted on Tuesday night, October 13.

Odom regained consciousness on Friday, October 16 and offered his first words since he was found unconscious at the Love Ranch brothel outside Las Vegas on Tuesday. (READ: Ex-NBA champ Lamar Odom reportedly 'fighting for life')

Nye County Sheriff Sharon Wehrly has said officers who responded to an emergency call were told Odom had used cocaine and sexual performance enhancer supplements in a multi-day stay at the brothel.

Amid reports of brain damage or other organ failure, hospital officials have declined to comment on Odom's condition.

There has been an outpouring of support from Odom's former NBA teammates and his estranged wife Khloe Kardashian has been at his side.

Odom won NBA titles with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009 and 2010 and married Kardashian in 2009 in a splashy televised wedding.

His connection to the celebrity Kardashian clan widened his fame, and while she filed for divorce in 2013 the split has reportedly never been finalized. – Rappler.com

MANILA, Philippines – Alden Richards' music video for "Wish I May' has been posted online. The song is the carrier single of Alden's album under GMA Records.

In the video, Alden is shown portraying different type of leading men from the romantic guy up to his segment as a chef in the noontime show Sunday Pinasaya. As a special treat, Alden is shown hugging a pillow with Maine "Yaya Dub " Mendoza's photo.

On Saturday, October 17, Alden became emotional during his album launch at SM North Edsa. He acknowledged his family especially his late mother for all the blessings he's been receiving.

He also gave a a shoutout to the fans especially the supporters of his tandem with Maine "Yaya Dub" Mendoza.

Aside from "Wish I May," Alden's 5-track album includes his version of Bryan White's "God Gave Me You," and a cover of Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud."

MANILA, Philippines – Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano admitted they were both challenged by their roles in the movie Everyday I Love You. (WATCH: Liza, Enrique, Gerald in 'Everyday I love You' official trailer)

During the grand press conference for the movie Sunday, October 18, Enrique said that his role as Ethan required him to be straigthforward and serious, the opposite of his real personality. 

"Ako, nahirapan ako dahil (It was difficult for me because) they wanted to change me [the character]. 

"Yung totally different, sa kung anong nakita nila dati. As in they want me [to play it] straight, seryoso lagi, di nagpapatawa, na parang sumasayaw.

(It was totally different from what they saw before. As in they want me straight, always serious, not making jokes, while dancing.)

"They want me to be in a more mature role po dito... e, di ako ganun, makulit ako't laging (it's not like that, I've always been hyper) energetic," Enrique said.

Enrique added that the movie's director May Cruz-Alviar would even scold him since he was always moving around. 

Meanwhile, Liza said the movie brought everyone out of their comfort zones, herself included because she has not experienced what her character Audrey went through.

"Halos lahat po [were really difficult scenes for me]. It brought us out of our comfort zones. Ako difficult po siya kasi hindi ko pa po masyadong na-eexperience yung mga na experience ni Audrey as a character. I had a hard time balancing the two men, and iyon basta si direk [May] alam niya niya iyon. Sobra niya akong tinulungan. I really couldn’t think of how I would handle it kung nangyari sa akin," Liza said. 

(Almost all the scenes [were difficult for me]. It brought us out of our comfort zones. It was hard for me because I haven't really experienced what Audrey experienced as a character. I had a hard time balancing the two men, and direk May knows that. She really helped me. I really couldn't think of how I would handle it if that happened to me.) 

As for what they had to work on, Enrique said the challenge was shifting to the a different tone from what they've done in the past.

"They want us to be more mature. So it's more of a serious take or serious role, which ako kasi maloko ako, light-light lang. (for me I always kid around, i just want thigns to be light.)  So, they really have to be serious ,something, na they never saw before.

"Yun ang mahirap sa akin, yung (That's what's diificult for me)… serious tone to the story.  And sa situation po ng characters naminbecause here sa start ng movie may boyfriend si  Liza ...very critical ang each scene. 

"Kung may kilig scene man, di puwede ang sobra kasi teka may boyfriend (If there should be some romantic scene, it should not be too much because she has a boyfriend in the film).

"Pero andun si Direk to guide us... And we have great actors here, so ayun," Enrique said.

Liza meanwhile said: "Para sa akin ang kinailangan namin gawin is kung paano gawin differentyung characters namin from the past characters we portrayed. Kasi, we want to give the audience something different, something new, para hindi naman magsawa sila sa amin.

(For me, we needed to make our roles different from the past characters we portrayed. because we want to give the audience something different, something new, so they won't get tired with us.) 

"Baka makita nila kasi na (They might see that)  we haven’t upgraded from our last projects. We have to make it different from Agnes, from Xander (their characters in Forevermore.)," Liza said. 

In Everyday I Love You,  Liza plays Audrey who patiently waits for her boyfriend Tristan (Gerald Anderson) to wake up from his coma. While trying to help pay for Tristan's hospital bills, she meets Ethan (Enrique) who helps her out with her problem. Both later develop feelings for each other, and Audrey finds herself in a difficult situation when Tristan wakes up.

NEW YORK, USA – Rap superstar Kanye West, who has drawn more attention recently for non-musical pursuits from fashion to the presidency, on Monday, October 19 unexpectedly released two songs.

West, without comment, put two tracks on Soundcloud, his first postings on the free sharing website frequently used by little-known bands to promote their work.

One track is a new version of "Say You Will," the opening song on his chart-topping 2008 album 808s & Heartbreak, but the other is a new song, entitled "When I See It."

The new song starts with the same smooth R&B beat of "Tell Your Friends," a track by fast-rising Canadian singer The Weeknd that was co-produced by West.

"When I See It," which the rapper apparently posted two weeks ago before it went live on Monday, features a mellow West singing of his recollections of a drive on a Los Angeles highway.

The Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer not only teases a lot of in-space explosions but also scenes with actress Daisy Ridley as Rey, and Harrison Ford as Han Solo. The trailer also features Kylo Ren, a new villain, speaking as the scene cuts to a shot of Darth Vader's destroyed helmet, saying, "I will finish what you started."
