MANILA, Philippines – The 5th and recent season of Game of Thrones ended on such an ambiguous and gory note, so fans continue to mull over several characters’ fates, including Jon Snow.
Infamous for ruthlessly axing crowd-favorite characters, the show had closed its last season in a way that has upset and stunned even fans of the A Song of Ice and Fire books on which the hit HBO series is based, too.
Cast members like Kit Harington, who plays (or played) the abovementioned character, and Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei), who has recently visited Manila for Asia Pop Comic Con, have only dropped vague hints about what’s in store for the 6th season premiering on April 2016.
The show’s darkest and most dreadful moments thus far feature heavily on a new promotional teaser. It seems to taunt even the most loyal fans, as it ends with the image of a bloodied Jon Snow.
“The past is already written. The ink is dry,” a husky voice mutters over the gruesome spectacle, as if trying to quell any hopefulness.
That is, until, Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright), last seen in Season 4, appears with his eyes rolling back as he wargs. A prophetic and ominous voice – seemingly his – declares, “They have no idea what’s going to happen.”
Indeed, like Jon Snow, we know nothing.
