MANILA, Philippines – Not much has been revealed about the movie spinoff to the Harry Potter series, other than it will follow wizard Newt Scamander as he travels through the world in the pursuit of magical creatures for his book, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
On November 4 though, Entertainment Weekly (EW) gave us a first look at the movie, with a picture of Eddie Redmayne as Newt.

According to EW, Newt is standing at the Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA) in their cover. That MACUSA is the American version of the Ministry of Magic. They also said that the film is set in 1926 in New York.
It's been revealed before that Colin Farrell will also star as the wizard Graves, but EW said that Katherine Waterston and Samantha Morton will star in the film too.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them is known in the Harry Potter series as a comprehensive textbook about magical creatures. Harry Potter author JK Rowling published a book under the same title in 2001, as a companion to the series.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is set for release in 2016.
