MANILA, Philippines – Angelina Jolie has released a statement following the news that her estranged husband Brad Pitt was cleared of child abuse allegations.
TMZ reported that the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services has cleared Brad of the allegations, which were over an incident in September between him and his son Maddox.
In a statement to TMZ, Angelina's representative said: "Angelina said from the beginning that she felt she had to take action for the health of the family and is relieved that after their 8-week involvement, the DCFS is now satisfied the safeguards are put in place that will allow the children to heal."
It was reported in September that Brad screamed and "got physical" with Maddox on a private plane, which is believed to be one of the reasons Angelina filed for divorce.
Angelina's rep also confirmed that a legal agreement is in place between the two parties. Angelina currently has primary custody of all the children, while Brad has visitation rights.
It was reported in October that the estranged couple had reached a temporary agreement regarding the custody of their kids, wherein Angelina would have physical custody while Brad would be able to visit under the supervision of a therapist. This agreement ended on October 20.
Brad and Angelina were married for two years, but have been together since 2004. They have 6 kids together, 3 of whom are adopted. – Rappler.com
