MANILA, Philippines – Following the death of singer Christina Grimmie, her brother Marcus Grimmie took to Facebook to pay tribute to his younger sister.

Marcus posted his message on Sunday, June 12, a day after Christina succumbed to gunshot wounds following a post-concert attack. Marcus had tackled Christina's assailant immediately after the shooting, and then the suspect shot himself.

On Facebook, Marcus wrote: "By now I'm sure many you have heard that Christina has passed away due to gunfire after a show. I really don't have much to say about anything and am just blown away with the prayers and support. I PROMISE I will respond to everyone when I can.

"Christina was more than my sister. She was a partner in life. A superstar. A goofball. Introverted. And a friend to everyone. Genuinely. But above all...she was my baby sister. She loved the Lord and her family and was always there for me and I honestly don't know what I'll do without her."

Marcus then asked those reading the post to send in photos of Christina in the comments section. He ended by saying: "Thank you all so, so much. The support has been crazy and I do feel a peace. I just don't have any words. I love you all."

Christina, who started out on YouTube before rising to fame on The Voice, was shot by a man identified as Kevin James Loibl while she was signing autographs after a concert in Orlando, Florida.

The police said Loibl had two handguns and a hunting knife on him at the time of the attack. (READ: Christina Grimmie alleged killer identified)

Various celebrities including The Voice host Carson Daly, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Christina's mentor Adam Levine, and friends such as Selena Gomez and Sam Tsui paid tribute to her through social media. – Rappler.com

POWERFUL SONNET. 'Hamilton' star Lin-Manuel Miranda recites a sonnet for his wife and the victims of the Orlando shooting at the Tony Awards. Screengrab from YouTube/Hamilton

MANILA, Philippines – Hamilton creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda recited a sonnet on Sunday, June 12, as his acceptance speech at the 2016 Tony Awards, where Hamilton won Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics).

Lin-Manuel's sonnet was dedicated to his wife Vanessa and to the victims of the Orlando shooting, where 50 people died.

Hamilton took home a big number of awards including Best Musical and Best Actor in a Musical for Leslie Odom Jr. (FULL LIST: Winners, Tony Awards 2016)

"I'm not freestyling, I'm too old. I wrote you a sonnet instead," Lin-Manuel began.

Part of his sonnet goes: "We chase the melodies that seem to find us until they’re finished songs and start to play,” Lin-Manuel said. "When senseless acts of tragedy remind us that nothing here is promised, not one day.”

He continued: “This show is proof that history remembers/ We live through times when hate and fear seem stronger/ We rise and fall and light from dying embers remembrance that hope and love last longer."

Lin-Manuel then became emotional as he recited: “Love is love is love is love is love is love is love is love cannot be killed or swept aside.”

Pop-rock band Imago has made its mark on the Filipino music scene over the years, with hits like the mournful "Akap" and the catchy, upbeat "Taralets."

Formed in the late '90s, Imago started out with Aia de Leon on vocals and Michelle Pritchard on violin. Back then, their Celtic-inspired sound was totally different from the music they're known for today.

At present, they're led by Mayumi Gomez on vocals, with Zach Lucero and Tim Cacho on guitars, Mervin Panganiban on drums, and Myrene Academia on bass.

'Game of Thrones' star Kristian Nairn: 18 fun facts about the Hodor actor

MANILA, Philippines – By now, Game of Thrones star Kristian Nairn must've been faced with an endless barrage of questions and comments about that door. You know, the one Bran Stark asked Kristian's character Hodor to "hold" – in the process, making a heroic sacrifice for his crippled friend. (READ: 'Hold the door': 'Game of Thrones' star Kristian Nairn on the latest shocker)

When Kristian faced the press and fans at the 2016 ToyCon Philippines - Pop Life FanXperience (June 10 to 12), he got something that's completely unlikely to happen. He was sitting on the Iron Throne. For an entire weekend, he was King of the Seven Kingdoms – at least for the fans in Manila.

He was thrilled to be in the country – his first time – even when it was humid and raining heavily outside the SMX Convention Center.

"It's really warm. It's really hot," Kristian admitted. "But you guys are really sweet, it's really nice to be here. I've met a lot of really nice people since I came here, so thank you very much."

While his character is capable of only uttering "Hodor," Kristian is the complete opposite: chatty and candid. However, there are similarities between him and Hodor. He is as loveable as his gentle giant character and gracious with the fans – obliging for pictures and hugs if they ask.

We learned some things about what went on behind the scenes on Game of Thrones from him. Beyond the show, we also got to know interesting things about the actor who played the hero who held the door.

1. Hodor is 'way nicer' than Kristian.

When Kristian was asked to compare himself with his character, he replied, "He's way nicer than me."

He also made a cheeky reference to Hodor (previously known as Wylis) being capable of uttering only one word, saying: "I talk too much, probably. I say a lot more things than Hodor does, obviously. He's just a solid good guy."

2. Kristian knew about two huge 'Game of Thrones' secrets this season.

The first one, of course, was the origin of his character's name revealed in the shocking and tragic "Hold the door" scene that broke the Internet.

"I've known I was gonna die for an entire year," Kristian said, also admitting that he has "a really big mouth. I like to tell people things. It was really difficult for me not to tell."

He confessed that he told his mother but no one else, apart from her. "So if you imagine – for a whole year – every day, people are asking me, 'What happens this season?'" he said.

The second secret he knew was something people had also constantly asked him: "Is Jon Snow alive?"

He recounted a particular incident when he was confronted with the question. "One day, I snapped, and someone's [like], 'Is Jon Snow alive?' I just said, 'I don't care!'"

"The next thing, [in] the papers the next day, it was, 'Kristian Nairn hates Kit Harington.' I was like, 'I wouldn't say that!' I like Kit! Kit's amazing. He's a really nice guy."

3. There was actually more than one door.

"There [were] about 10 different versions of the door," Kristian said. "It [the episode] should've really been called 'The Doors.'"

There were about 6 or 7 of what he called "stunt doors."

"When you see me pushing against the door – that's a real door. There was, like, 7 or 8 people behind it 'cause I'm pretty strong. All these stunt guys and also another guy the same size as me – they're trying to push. They couldn't keep me back. I was trying to push."

He revealed that the entire set moved with his own force. "The whole cave moved because I was pushing against it so hard," he said.

4. Isaac Hempstead Wright was the one who shouted 'cut' on Kristian's last day.

Isaac Hempstead Wright, aka Bran Stark, did the honor of a send-off for Kristian on his last day on set: "He was the one who said, 'Cut. You're finished.' So he gave me a big hug. It was really sad." (WATCH: Isaac Hempstead Wright talks Bran Stark's return, 'GoT' deaths)

"Everyone was really nice. Everyone was really sweet," he recounted. "I didn't cry. But it was pretty sad."

On the other hand, he said with a laugh, "I was taking away that really horrible, smelly outfit [for] the last time. I was like, 'Yeah, hmm… I'm not gonna miss this at all.'"

5. Isaac is like a 'little brother' to him.

Hodor and Bran Stark share a lot of screen time. When the cameras are not rolling, Kristian and Isaac are like real-life brothers.

"He's a great kid. We get along really well. He's like a little brother to me, actually," Kristian described Isaac. (WATCH: 'GoT' star Isaac Hempstead Wright shares dream Bran Stark love team, favorite character, and more)

"I get angry with him. I'm always shouting at him," he later said. "He's really annoying sometimes. On purpose, he'd actually annoy me. But yeah, I'm gonna miss him, actually. I miss him a lot. But we're always in touch. We text each other every week, every day."

Kristian said that they're "really close" and "hang out together often." They even went to see the Warcraft movie together.

"People always want to know how heavy Bran is because when I first met Bran, he was like this height," he gestured with his hands to illustrate. "Now he's like 6-foot tall. He's really big and he's really heavy."

Considering that Isaac entered the show as a wee boy, the Hodor actor recounted their early days on the show. He narrated an incident in which young Isaac destroyed his iPhone while playing a Harry Potter spells app – on the "first day" he met him.

"I saw mine flying through the air and smashed into a million bits. The first day I met Bran, he destroyed my iPhone, and then on the last day, he killed me. It's a bit of a one-sided relationship."

6. He's a musician and DJ.

Outside of Westeros, Kristian used to be a guitar player and held a DJ residency in Kremlin, a club popular among the gay community in his native Northern Ireland. He has also been manning the decks in various clubs around the globe, playing a set aptly called "Rave of Thrones."

If given a chance to choose between his acting and DJ career, he said that a choice wasn't necessary. He also noted how the two professions differ.

"Luckily, I think I do a good job of doing both. I have a really, really busy work schedule, but it's so different," he said. "I mean, acting – what you do, you don't get any reaction […] on TV, and then there'd be Twitter. But if you're on a DJ set, you're get a reaction right in the front – from the music crowds – either they hate it or they like it. I like the live reaction."

"I like them both. I don't have to choose, so I'm always gonna do both," Kristian added.

7. He likes'dark' music.

Growing up, Kristian said he liked heavy metal, as he mentioned his guitarist background. His inclination for this sort of sound carried over into genres which he plays in his DJ sets.

He said, "I just try to combine it all together. I like '80s music, I like synthpop, darkwave […] I really like electronic music. I just sort of fuse it all together."

However, in spite of his early liking for heavy metal, he said he doesn't incorporate rock music into his sets.

"I like the darkness – not The Darkness band," he explained these preferences with a tiny joke. "I just like that sort of atmosphere with the music. I'm sort of trying to mix it up."

8. He's an avid Warcraft player.

Warcraft is one of Kristian's favorite video games. "I've played Warcraft since it came out, really," he said as someone in the audience shouted "For the horde!" which he echoes.

"Definitely a Horde player," he said, stating which faction he bats for in the game. "I'm a blood elf hunter. Obviously, I don't look much like a blood elf – more of an orc."

9. His dream role:

On Game of Thrones, he said that it "would have slightly more dialogue" than just different iterations of "Hodor." However, he said that a role on the show is "a dream role in the way that it changed my life. I mean it's changed my life completely, utterly… I'm in the Philippines, like it's changed my life."

He also said that one dream role he'd love to play outside of Game of Thrones would have been in the movie adaptation of Warcraft. "I mean, it's such a big part of my life," he explained.

He added, "I'm really into fantasy, as well. I mean, Lord of the Rings – I might've loved to play a part in Lord of the Rings, but an older Gandalf – that sort of thing. I meant some sort of scary, big, bearded wizard."

10. One 'memorable' and 'scary' moment with a 'fan':

Kristian had a withering plant in front of his house, and he "couldn't be bothered watering it." Then, someone tweeted him one day, telling him to water the plant. "This guy was watching my house, so that was f*cked," he said.

Earlier, however, he described Game of Thrones fans as "usually quite intelligent because you have to be following the show from the start. So they're usually quite sensible. So I really enjoy meeting Game of Thrones fans."

11. If Kristian could play another Game of Thrones role other than Hodor, he would like to be…

"I think Arya," Kristian said. "She's amazing… Who else? All the female characters, actually."

He also considered Catelyn Stark, the deposed matriarch of the Starks who suffered a gruesome fate in season 3's Red Wedding. He called her "a really good character."

12. If he were ruler of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros…

His decree? "Kill everybody!" This sounds like he'd rival Aerys the Mad King

13. He'd want to see Ramsay Bolton get killed off from the show.

Kristian Nairn called Iwan Rheon's character, the sadistic Ramsay Bolton, a "horrible piece of sh*t."

"He's a really good character and a really good actor," he explained. "A really good actor 'cause he's really a nice guy in real life. But yeah, I want him to die horribly."

14. He has two favorite theories about Hodor's name before 'Hold the door' happened.

Kristian said that when he found out about his character's name being rooted in "Hold the door," it was "completely new to me." However, he Googled about it before, and found two favorite "theories" regarding the real deal about Hodor – not only his name but his identity as well.

One: Hodor is the lost Clegane brother: "There's like Sandor, Gregor, Hodor." He immediately struck this down himself, saying: "Obviously, it's not true. No. It might be. Who knows?"

Two: it could be explained by Norse mythology. He said, "Höðr is the god of winter. But [Hodor is] dead. None of these is true, unfortunately."

15. On the finality of Hodor's 'death':

"I can honestly say – categorically – that I know exactly as much as you," Kristian told a reporter who asked him if there was a finality to his character's departure from the show.

However, knowing that showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have brought outrageous surprises to the show, anything is possible on Game of Thrones.

"I know nothing, like Jon Snow. So I think that he's dead," he said. "I imagine that he's not gonna come back from that, but who knows? It's Game of Thrones, and I think it could happen."

If Hodor could return as a wraith or White Walker, Kristian said that it'd be great "from an actor's point of view. I'm like, 'Yay. Another year's work.' Also, I love being a part of Game of Thrones, so yeah, it'll be amazing."

Taking it from the point of view of a character, he said, "I kind of like it the way it is."

"It's like a circle. The circle's complete, and it'll be weird to come back. But if they want me back, I'll come back. I'm not gonna fight with them."

He also admitted that he initially wasn't too "keen" on playing the role, but that later changed. "Over the years, I got to love the character," he said. "I'm really gonna miss him, actually. It's gonna be strange not being Hodor anymore. But then again, you'll never know. You never know."

16. If he were able to speak in complete sentences, his last words would be…

"F*ck you," Kristian joked, considering that Bran was somewhat responsible for the entire "Hold the Door" mess in his brain – the situation when he had to sacrifice himself.

He followed it up, saying, "No, I don't think he feels bad. I think he was glad to do his job. He was happy to save his friends, but yeah, probably just like, 'Really? Really?'"

17. On what he thinks makes Game of Thrones popular:

True to his frank manner of speaking, Kristian blurted out "sex," and immediately explains it: "I'm just trying to be realistic here, you know."

He added, however, that the show's fantasy element is one thing to consider: "You know, everyone likes a little bit of fantasy, a little bit of escapism – like, you know, you have to get away from your everyday life."

"But I think Game of Thrones is […] not like the little fairies and unicorns. I like fairies and unicorns, but not on Game of Thrones."

He also said that it could be "very relatable," continuing, "There's, like, politics… Incest… Depends where you're from. It's very relatable to everyday life – slightly. Hopefully, not everyone's everyday life is as brutal as Game of Thrones. But I think that's why. It's not too fantastical – just a little bit."

18. What's next for Kristian Nairn?

Kristian listed a TV show and two movies ("One's being shot in New Jersey at the end of the year") among his projects down the pipeline, but said, "Typical actor response – I can't say much."

On the music side of his career, he has upcoming releases as well as an ongoing DJ tour with his "Rave of Thrones" set.

"Dates keep getting added on. It's never gonna end, which is amazing. It's really busy – really, really busy. I'm really grateful for that, so you haven't seen the last of me," he said. – Rappler.com

The trio was accompanied by piano and joined by other theater stars present during the awards night.

Gyllenhaal started off singing Aladdin's lines, before Hayes jumped in with Princess Jasmine's. Corden sang bits and pieces throughout.

The 2016 Tony Awards was held at the Beacon Theatre in New York and was dedicated to the victims of the Orlando shooting, where 50 people were killed.

The hit Broadway show Hamilton was a big winner that night, bringing home 11 awards out of the 16 they were nominated for.

MANILA, Philippines – This Eraserheads "reunion" isn't their first since they broke up in 2002. But it's always a big deal when Ely Buendia, Buddy Zabala, Marcus Adoro, and Raimund Marasigan get together and perform as the Eraserheads.

On Monday, June 13, the former band reunited to perform for the crowd at "A New Day," a PLDT and Smart event at the Makati Shangri-La. The telecommunications companies unveiled their new logos there.

"We're definitely getting too old for this sh-t," said frontman Ely Buendia at one point, as the crowd asked for one more song.

After more insistence from the crowd, Ely gave in: "Hindi, hindi (no, no), you're not old, we're not old," he said, before playing the first strains of "With a Smile."

The group previously had a one-off, full-length reunion concert in August 2008 at the Bonifacio Global City open field. That was cut short, however, as Ely was rushed to the hospital. The continuation of this previous concert, dubbed "The Final Set," was held in March 2009.

MANILA, Philippines – Adam Levine has offered to help the late Christina Grimmie's family by paying for her funeral expenses and flight.

Christina's brother Marcus confirmed through Facebook on Monday, June 13, that Adam, who mentored Christina in season 6 of The Voice, called his mother to pitch in. He also wrote that he was informed of the status of the GoFundMe crowdfunding page that Brian Teefey, Christina's manager, had set up.

Marcus posted, "I first heard from my sister's manager, Brian Teefey, that he will be making a GoFundMe to help our family move out of our current house and to take care of the funeral, and I figured why not, and I'm not about sharing that kind of stuff and I'm not a fan of handouts at all.

"I found out this morning, that Adam Levine personally called my mother and said he will pay for the funeral and her plane flight, and I was blown away. Now a friend just told me to look at the GoFundMe page and I see it is at [$100 thousand]. Words cannot express... literally, I have no words," he added.

"I promise both my parents and I will read every one of these personalized messages. I'm so blown away by everything right now. But all I can say is thank you. And Christina will be missed and never ever forgotten," he continued.

After posting the link to the GoFundMe page, Marcus asked everyone to leave comments, messages, or pictures of Christina, as well as sign the petition on change.org to have Christina be remembered in an upcoming Legend of Zelda game.

Nintendo's Legend of Zelda is one of Christina's favorite game series and was part of her username on YouTube, where she got started as a musician.

MANILA, Philippines – ToyCon has always been one of Manila's most anticipated events, for the toy and collectible hobbyists, pop culture enthusiasts, cosplayers, and more. This year, June 10 to 12, the annual convention rolled out bigger than before – moving from its previous home in SM Megamall to the cavernous SMX Convention Center.

It also happened that ToyCon was celebrating its 15th year. Partnering with Pop! Life Entertainment, it brought the FanXperience – an "offshoot" of Salt Lake Comic Con – to Manila.

Indeed, what a way to celebrate this milestone with astounding exhibitions and a lineup of international celebrity guests. Beyond just an event, this year's ToyCon highlighted how much it has grown as a community of pop culture fans.

From the cool toys and collectibles to the people we met, let's take a look back – in photos – on what went on at this year's ToyCon.

Celebrity guests not only took time to speak and take questions from the fans but also gamely posed for selfies and signed autographs for them.

Game of Thrones fans were excited to meet Hodor in the flesh: Kristian Nairn. To everyone's delight, the actor was definitely more talkative than his character – addressing that tragic "Hold the door" scene, sharing his love for Warcraft, and talking about his music career. (READ: 'Game of Thrones' star Kristian Nairn: 18 fun facts about the Hodor actor and DJ)

While talking to the press last June 10, Kristian admitted that he found it hot in this tropical nation. However, he also said, "You guys are really sweet, it's really nice to be here. I've met a lot of really nice people since I came here, so thank you very much."

As Kristian is a musician, too, he even took to the decks for a short Rave of Thrones DJ set on Sunday, June 12, which he also did at the Palace Pool Club the night before.

One incarnation of Clark Kent-slash-Superman also flew in: Dean Cain, the star of '90s TV show Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

Dean even confessed that Batman v Superman wasn't very enjoyable. "I enjoyed Deadpool a lot more than I liked Batman v Superman. Ryan Reynolds killed that. He was great. He was amazing. It was witty, and it was fun. That's what that film [Batman v Superman] didn't have. I sort of prefer that."

From a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, Daniel Logan, the actor who played the young version of bounty hunter Boba Fett, kept his energy at peak for the fans. He would stand up from his stool to go down the stage and go up close to take questions from the crowd.

Proud of his New Zealander heritage, he even did a Maori haka.

Two members of the wolf pack from the Twilight saga, Kiowa Gordon and Bronson Pelletier– who played Embry Call and Jared Cameron, respectively – also made an appearance.

Thai actor Mario Maurer charmed fans of his work on screen, and at ToyCon, he signed little Funko Pop! toys made in his image. Many of his fans wanted to take a selfie with him, and he gladly obliged.

Two of the lead actors from the popular historical biopic Heneral Luna, Mon Confiado (Emilio Aguinaldo) and John Arcilla himself, showed up in costume to engage with fans at the venue. The actors also sold and signed DVDs of their movie.

Marvel icon Stan Lee spoke to the Manila crowd via Skype last June 11 – amusing, just like his cameo appearances in the movies.

As he explained that the creation of superheroes takes several steps from identifying a superpower to writing the story, he joked, "That's why I look so old because I've been doing that for a long time. I'm still in my 20s…"

There was even a whole exhibit, called the Stan Lee Excelsior Exhibition, set up to showcase items signed by Stan himself and some movie stars: comic books, props from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and more.

There were also several music acts to keep the crowd entertained with a variety of sounds: R&B from Frankie J, indie pop rock from Heffron Drive (which includes Kendall Schmidt, the star of Nickelodeon's Big Time Rush), J-Pop acts Yanakiku and Electric Ribbon.

Of course, what's a ToyCon without the toys for the little kids, the young-at-heart, and collectors?

There are towering ones you can't literally bring home, such as the Voltes V replica that is immediately seen from the gates.

FOR A CAUSE. Baron Geisler says one of the reasons he agreed to the mixed martial arts match against Kiko Matos is to help free political prisoners such as Maricon Montajes. File photo by Paolo Abad/Rappler

MANILA, Philippines – Baron Geisler spoke up about the controversies against him, including his altercation with actor Kiko Matos and a new viral video, where he was shown cursing again.

In an interview on Tonight with Boy Abunda, Monday, June 13, Baron said that he and Kiko would have just wanted to settle it between themselves. (READ: Baron Geisler speaks up on bar fight with Kiko Matos)

"Me and Kiko, we just wanted to settle it sa street fight. Pero pinick-up po ng ABS-CBN, pinick-up po ng URCC – yung MMA. I think it would be better na we'll settle our differences," Baron said.

(Me and Kiko, we just wanted to settle it in a street fight. But ABS-CBN and URCC [Universal Reality Combat Championship], the MMA [mixed martial arts] event, picked it up. It would be better na we will settle our differences.)

According to Baron, he has a purpose in agreeing to the match. It's for a cause that includes freeing political prisoners like Maricon Montajes, a student from the University of the Philippines that was detained in Batangas.

"Everything I do is for a cause. It's not all about me. It's not about you. It's about Him [God] and these other people nanaagrabyado (who were aggrieved)," he said.

Baron said that he and Kiko have already both signed the contract. (READ: Baron Geisler accepts URCC’s invitation to fight Kiko Matos inside MMA cage)

Last June 10, it was announced that Baron and Kiko agreed to settle their issue via a mixed martial arts match organized by the URCC. It is set to happen on June 25,  at Valkyrie at The Palace, Taguig City. (READ: PH MMA community looks forward to Baron Geisler vs Kiko Matos bout)

Baron also clarfied what happened in another viral video that circulated recently. In the video, he was seen cursing at someone after he was reportedly punched from behind.

{source}<iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fwilbert.nbrandon%2Fvideos%2F10208138918182181%2F&show_text=0&width=560" width="560" height="315" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" allowTransparency="true" allowFullScreen="true"></iframe>{/source}

"It's hard for me to go out on the streets because they would think I’m Bruce Lee. Like I would go out, be courteous sa babae, sa mga tao (to ladies, to people) – and biglang (suddenly) [someone] would just hit me sa likod ng ulo ko (at the back my head)."

"That's why may lumabas na viral video na nagwawala ako (there was a viral video of me getting angry that came out)," he said.

"I just went out and I just told this girl, 'You know you’re so beautiful, I'll help you go down the stairs, you're so beautiful,' ganito, ganyan (this and that). Tapos biglang naglalakad na ako pabalik ng hotel, biglang sinutok na lang ako patalikod. (After that, I was just walking back to my hotel, when suddenly someone hit me from behind.)

He later added, "Bilang lalake [...] suntukin mo yung isang lalaki na patalikod (But for a man to do that behind your back) – another sucker punch, that’s like... Especially kay Kiko Matos, what he did to me, 'di ba?"

"I shook his hand, I gave... You know, I was being a gentleman and then he would do that to me," Baron said, referring to the altercation between them.

He also said that after this fight, he vowed to quit smoking and drinking.

"After this fight, I will not smoke and I will not drink. And that's a challenge not kay Kiko Matos, pero sa sarili ko po (but for me) because health is wealth," he said.

In spite of all the controversies hounding him, Baron said that he just wants to be regarded as any other person.

"I'm not your typical actor, not your typical celebrity. I'm just human, I have feelings. And punong-puno ako ng pag-ibig. Marami akong minamahal sa buhay (I'm full of love. I have many loved ones)," he said. – Rappler.com

MANILA, Philippines – Following the death of her good friend and fellow singer Christina Grimmie, Selena Gomez took to her Miami concert stage to pay tribute to her. (READ: Christina Grimmie's brother: 'She was a partner in life')

On June 11 at her Miami concert, a stop on her ongoing Revival Tour, Selena got emotional as she played a cover of Hillsong Worship's "Transfiguration."

Before she sat down at a piano to sing, Selena explained that the two met when Christina was 14 and then she and her parents signed her.

Christina sang backup vocals for Selena Gomez and The Scene's tour in 2011 and opened their North American stops. (READ: Adam Levine offers to pay for Christina Grimmie's funeral)

At the time of her death, Christina's manager was Selena's stepfather, Brian Teefey. Brian has since set up a GoFundMe crowdsourcing page to help support Christina's family.

"One thing about Christina and her family is that she holds her faith so closely to her. And I think it’s not about a religion and it’s not about anything or good deeds, it’s just that she had faith."

And I don't really understand how this really happened, but I would like to dedicate this next song to her," said Selena at her concert.

Fans also posted videos of Selena getting emotional as she struggled to get through her song, "Nobody."

The official Revival Tour Instagram account posted photos of Selena singing her tribute to Christina that night, as well as the lights from the crowd during her performance.

MANILA, Philippines – After 50 lives were lost in Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, USA – what has been tagged the most deadly shooting in US history – the world was in shock.

"We know enough to say that this was an act of terror and an act of hate," said President Barack Obama.

Entertainment figures, being influential on social media, used their platforms not just to express shock and grief at an attack that had seemed to be targeted at gay people, but also to proclaim messages of empowerment and hope, as well as to shun hatred.

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga appeared onstage at a Los Angeles vigil for the victims of the Orlando shooting.

"As we have now witnessed the largest mass shooting in American history, I can’t help but feel that this level of hatred – like all prejudicial crimes – this is an attack on humanity itself. This is an attack on everyone," she said.

"Tonight, I gather humbly with you, as a human being, in peace, in sincerity, in commitment, in solidarity, to take a real moment and mourn the tragic loss of these innocent, beautiful people."

She also posted an text exchange with her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus (who was tagged in the photo):

Billy Ray first said, "A day that started out as so innocent has now become so tragic. My heart is broken… and I know yours is too. So much hate… Not sure love has a chance anymore."

To this, Miley replied: "Love has a mega chance! Don't give up!"

"You're right. Love has to win… Love wins!" her father replied.

Pia Wurtzbach

Miss Universe 2015 took to Instagram to condemn recent terror events, including the Orlando shooting. In two separate posts on the Miss Universe and her personal account, she highlighted a symbol of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) pride: the rainbow flag. (READ: Pia Wurtzbach stands by LGBT community after Orlando shooting)

On her personal account, she wrote: "I am Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach from a highly conservative Catholic country but I am not afraid. Celebrated but also sometimes criticized. And staying true to my word, the LGBT community is close to my heart. It's 2016, people. There's no room for hate anymore."

James Corden

The Tony Awards, the biggest night in theater, also dedicated this year's awards night, Sunday, June 12, to the victims of the attack.

Its host, James Corden, opened the show: "Our hearts go out to all of those affected by this atrocity. All we can say is that you are not on your own right now. Your tragedy is our tragedy."

"Theater is a place where every race, creed, sexuality and gender is equal, is embraced, and is loved. Hate will never win. Together, we have to make sure of that. Tonight's show stands as a symbol and a celebration of that principle."

Lin-Manuel Miranda

Hamilton creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda won big at the Tony Awards, and when he accepted the award for Best Original Score, he said recited a sonnet he made himself. (WATCH: Lin-Manuel Miranda dedicates sonnet to Orlando victims)

At one point, it goes: "This show is proof that history remembers / We live through times when hate and fear seem stronger / We rise and fall and light from dying embers remembrance that hope and love last longer."

"Love is love is love is love is love is love is love is love cannot be killed or swept aside."

Liza Diño-Seguerra

While promoting their film Traslacion, which tackles the "plight that we LGBTQ [lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer] couples go through," Liza Diño-Seguerra said that she found their premiere at the Soho International Film Festival in New York timely with its message.

She wrote, "Sana hindi lang manatili sa Facebook ang inyong pakikiramay sa nangyari sa mga GAY PEOPLE na walang awang pinagbabaril dahil lang para sa inyo 'iba' sila. STOP HATE CRIME."

(We hope that your sympathy with what happened to the gay people, who were mercilessly shot dead, wouldn't stop with Facebook.)

"Pare-pareho tayong TAO. Lahat tayo may karapatang mamuhay ng totoo sa sarili natin at magmahal ng MALAYA."

MANILA, Philippines – James Corden rocked it out in the car with the Red Hot Chili Peppers for an episode of "Carpool Karaoke" on Monday, June 13.

In the episode, frontman Anthony Kiedis took the passenger seat, while Flea, Chad Smith and Josh Klinghoffer sat in the back, singing some of their all-time fan favorites like "Under the Bridge" and "Californication," as well as their new single, "Dark Necessities."

The show opened with "Can't Stop," immediately followed by a rousing rendition of "Food, Glorious Food" from the musical Oliver! led by Flea.

They then debuted a song they said they wrote years ago: "We were 15 years old, sleeping on a rock out in the woods, smoking large qunatities of marijuana, hiking through the Sierra Nevada mountain range, and we wrote 'Heemi Lheemy,'" recounted Flea.

At one point – in classic Red Hot Chili Peppers style – Anthony and Flea went topless, and James joined them as they sang a few verses of "The Zephyr Song."

Movie reviews: What critics are saying about 'Finding Dory'

MANILA, Philippines – It has been 13 years Finding Nemo hit cinemas. Back then, worrywart clownfish Marlin, together with a forgetful blue tang named Dory, faced a lot of odds to find his son, Nemo. This time, in Finding Dory, the spotlight is on the fish who kept to her "just keep swimming" mantra.

Dory suddenly gets a spark of a memory from her childhood, driving her to embark on a journey to find her family. Along the way, they meet several new characters like Hank the septopus, sea lions Fluke and Rudder, Bailey the beluga whale, Destiny the whale shark, and even a loon named Becky, whom Nemo "trusts" as a friend. (READ: 12 things to know about Pixar's 'Finding Dory,' featuring life after 'Finding Nemo')

Disney Pixar movies often come with great expectations, and the first film has become quite the endearing tale with such memorable characters such as the sharks Bruce, Anchor, and Chum ("Fish are friends, not food"), the sea turtles Squirt and Crush, and more. (READ: Pixar reveals new 'Finding Dory' details)

Comparisons will then be inevitable. Across the ocean, critics have already seen Finding Dory and they've decided whether the new story lives up to its predecessor.

{source}<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/MKJA-VLpiCo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>{/source}

Owen Gleiberman, Variety

Variety's Owen Gleiberman said that Finding Dory does indeed live up to expectations. He wrote, "In a summer of tepid and disappointing sequels, audiences from around the world will be grateful to encounter a sequel to a movie as beloved as Finding Nemo that more than lives up to the first film’s casually magical charms."

While he praised the "even more ravishing" visuals "under the sea," he also thought that the film expanded on the Ellen DeGeneres-voiced character, saying that the film "figured out how to take an already perfect character and deepen her in an exquisitely satisfying way."

Chris Nashawaty, Entertainment Weekly

On the other hand, Finding Dory, as EW's Chris Nashawaty wrote, "would be a triumph for any other animation house. But for Pixar, it’s…fine."

"A lot of people who loved 2003’s Finding Nemo will pay to see this new follow-up and walk out feeling like they got their money’s worth. But it’s not Toy Story or Inside Out or even Nemo."

"Finding Dory adheres to the maxim that if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. It’s basically the same tale told in Nemo with some chairs moved around and a fresh coat of paint," Nashawaty added.

{source}<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/oddWuCHBmzA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>{/source}

Todd McCarthy, The Hollywood Reporter

"Its heroine may suffer from short-term memory loss, but viewers with any memory at all will realize that Finding Dory falls rather short of its wondrous progenitor," wrote Todd McCarthy for The Hollywood Reporter.

For McCarthy, while there was enough comedic fodder to be found in the film – especially in its wacky new characters: "This offspring isn't nearly as imaginative and nimble-minded as the forerunner that spawned it."

Brian Truitt, USA Today

Brian Truitt for USA Today also compared Finding Dory with Nemo: "While the animation is still top-notch and a slew of new waterlogged personalities buoy the story, it doesn’t have nearly the same sense of heart, wonder and awe as Nemo."

"There was a joy in exploring the never-ending ocean and its colorful inhabitants in Finding Nemo, but that's missing in Dory," wrote Truitt, however adding that Ellen DeGeneres "adds a youthful naivete and innocence that at times makes Dory the funniest character in the film."

Scott Mendelson, Forbes

Forbes contributor Scott Mendelson, on the other hand, was concerned with the film's pacing and plotting. "There is a certain redundancy in its various near-misses and almost-triumphs that delay the film’s possible (no spoilers) reunion," he also said.

"The A-to-B-to-C structure resembles a video game, as its main characters try to escape from one enclosed space or outdoor peril to another to get to a potentially arbitrary destination.

Towards the end of his piece, however, he said, "Finding Dory is mostly pretty good. It is sweet, funny, occasionally exciting, and gets better as it goes along. If I’m a little disappointed in the plotting, I won’t deny that it’s never less than entertaining."

{source}<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/mL9hNsNSFTw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>{/source}

David Ehrlich, Indiewire

For David Ehrlich of Indiewire, Finding Dory "doesn’t feel lazy, cynical, or like a rehash. On the contrary, it does what a sequel should — it’s a compelling argument for why we make them in the first place."

He acknowledged that even if the movie explored a familiar world built in the original Nemo film: "What the studio’s latest lacks in originality, it more than makes up for in feeling."

Alonso Duralde, The Wrap

Alonso Duralde from The Wrap highlighted DeGeneres's performance at one point of his review, saying that she "finds the well of loneliness within [her] jokey sidekick character [Dory], and her yearning for the home she forgot she had is palpable." However, he thought that the film "never quite hits that sweet spot of sadness. The film definitely pushes our buttons as it portrays loss and separation, but it never slows down enough to let us ache."

For Duralde: "Finding Dory is rousingly entertaining, with side-jokes and supporting characters that will take their place in the pantheon alongside the 'Mine! Mine!' seagulls and surfer-dude turtles […] from the original."

"In a year full of sequels nobody really wanted, this is one that deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as the first one; for that alone, it just keeps swimming against the current."

The bachelor president: Aquino and the women he met

COMMON DENOMINATOR. (Left to right) Stylist Liz Uy, Valenzuela Representative Shalani Soledad-Romulo, Grace Lee, and Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach share something in common.

MANILA, Philippines – He's known as the Philippines' first bachelor president, the most eligible man in the country since he assumed power in 2010.

While President Benigno Aquino III received attention at home and abroad for the country's unprecedented economic growth and his management of several crises, his status as a single man also turned his love life into a hot topic and the subject of much speculation.

Before he became president, the now 56-year-old Aquino once admitted to the Philippine Starthat his relationships reached "multiples of 4." When he assumed office in 2010 – even with the eyes of the nation constantly on him – several women were linked to him.

Rappler lists down women that Aquino, as President, dated or was in a serious relationship with – addressed by either himself, the women, or sources close to him.

Shalani Soledad

When Aquino was a senator, he was in a relationship with then Valenzuela City Councilor Shalani Soledad.

GMA News reported that Soledad first met Aquino in 2005, when she was still a UNTV reporter and the latter was Tarlac representative. They met again 3 years later when he was a senator, and officially became a couple on September 5, 2008.

According to the same report, their previously low-profile relationship was thrust into the spotlight after Aquino's mother, former president Corazon Aquino, died in August 2009. A month later, Aquino announced his own presidential bid. Soledad actively campaigned for her boyfriend and his team.

Many thought Soledad would become the country's next first lady but the relationship did not last after Aquino assumed the presidency.  In November 2010, quoted Ballsy Aquino-Cruz confirmed that her brother had broken up with Soledad, according to  Bandila.

Soledad married Pasig City Representative Roman Romulo in January 2012. Romulo recently ran for the Senate but lost.

Liz Uy

File photo by Rob Reyes/Rappler

Liz Uy was tapped to be Aquino's stylist after he ascended the presidency in 2010. The President's younger sister, actress and TV host Kris Aquino, is among her clients and friends.

Later in November, Aquino's sister, Ballsy Aquino-Cruz and TV host Boy Abunda confirmed that the two were "getting to know each other," although were not exclusively dating.

In an interview with Philippine media at the sidelines of the 2010 Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Yokohama, Japan, Aquino confirmed they were spending time together whenever their busy schedules would permit. He said of the celebrity stylist: "We had a conversation and I discovered how beautiful a person she was. I am impressed how she could engage in a conversation."

At one point, the two were even rumored to be engaged, which Uy just shrugged off as a "funny story" in a tweet. Aquino also denied this at the 2010 APEC summit when reporters asked.

Uy set the record straight herself about her and Aquino in a 2014 interview on ABS-CBN's Tapatan ni Tunying. She denied that she was ever in a romantic relationship with Aquino."They say my job is my boyfriend. I don’t have enough time to be in a relationship because of my hectic schedule," Uy said.

Len Lopez

Stock broker Len Lopez came under the spotlight in December 2010, when the President brought her to his Cabinet's first Christmas dinner.

Lopez accompanied Aquino to various events in January and February of that year. Ballsy Aquino-Cruz was even quoted as saying that her brother introduced Lopez to the family. "She's very nice," Cruz told reporters at the birthday celebration of Senator Jinggoy Estrada in early 2011, according to an ABS-CBN report.

In April 2011, however, Newsbreak reported in its Inside Track segment that Aquino and his girlfriend, a member of the Lopez clan, had called it quits.

Not long after, in May 2011, Aquino was seen on a date at a concert. Photos of the President and Bunny Calica, a teacher, were splashed on the front pages of newspapers, prompting the bachelor to lament, “If ever I get the chance to go out on a date, it seems I invited the entire Filipino people to join me on that date, and I wonder who gave them the right."

Calica too, was a passing fancy.

Grace Lee

File photo by Manman Dejeto/Rappler

A month after he was seen dating Calica, Aquino met Grace Lee, a Korean-born TV and radio personality, at the inauguration of the Korea Electric Power Corporation power plant in Cebu. Lee, donned in a hanbok, the Korean traditional dress, hosted the event.

During his speech, it became clear that Lee had caught Aquino's attention. He said he found Lee and the women of Cebu "guwapa (pretty)."  He also joked that he might end up getting married there. Aquino was apparently unaware, at first, that Lee was a minor celebrity based in Manila.

The two reconnected months later in November 2011 at the state visit of then South Korean President Lee Myung-Bak where she was an interpreter, Ellen Tordesillas said in a VERA Files report.

Later in February 2012, Aquino admitted that they were "seeing each other." It was reported that they had started going out the month before.

Lee was quoted in the VERA Files story that she saw herself marrying Aquino, but  later vehemently denied making such a statement.

They were seen together on various occasions until it was confirmed that they stopped dating sometime in April 2012, according to Newsbreak.

It was only in an interview with Vice Ganda on Gandang Gabi Vice in January 2015 that Aquino confirmed in public that he had a relationship with Lee.

Pia Wurtzbach

Pia Wurtzbach, the reigning Miss Universe, was also linked to the President even before winning the crown at the global pageant – when she was still Miss Universe Philippines.

In a March 2015 interview on Aquino & Abunda Tonight, the beauty queen did not directly respond to Kris Aquino, who asked if she was dating the President. "I know him. I talk to him, yes. He's very fun to talk to," Wurtzbach simply said.

The presidential sister and TV host spoke her mind on why her brother and Wurtzbach didn't work out. "I don’t think she liked Noy," she said in an interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

"I think she entertained him but the thing is, you can tell from her character na single-minded. 'Kinailangan na ito [Miss Universe] ang focus ko muna' (She needed to focus on Miss Universe)." (READ: Pia Wurtzbach meets President Aquino for first time since Miss Universe win)

All 4 Aquino sisters approved of Wurtzbach even when the two were just rumored to be going out, Kris said in an interview with the Inquirer

When Wurtzbach won the prestigious pageant, media and even a senior Cabinet official found another reason to rib the Chief Executive. At the signing of the 2016 national budget on December 22, 2015, Ochoa, who introduced Aquino before the latter gave his keynote address, said, "Isang Miss Universe na umaga sa inyong lahat (A Miss Universe morning to all of you)."

To this, Aquino quipped, "Executive Secretary at kumpare ko pa na nagmula ang relasyon sa ating mga magulang, sinira mo itong araw na ito (Executive Secretary, my friend rooted on the relationship of our parents, you ruined this day)."

'Coke Regular' after Malacañang?

'MYSTERY WOMAN.' In a performance, members of the Malacanang Press Corps give the bachelor president a 'happy ending' – finding love, at last – at his first Christmas party for the MPC in 2010. Photo from Mia Gonzalez/Rappler

As he leaves Malacañang, the question – at least of those who follow the President's love life – remains: will Aquino finally be lucky in love?

Early in his term, the President had joked that his love life mirrored the different types of the Coke drink. Speaking to reporters in 2011, the Aquino declared that his love life had gone from Coke Regular to Coke Light, and then, Coke Zero.

This was followed by an apparent years-long romantic El Niño. Three years later, he couldn't even muster an upgrade to Coke Light.

In 2014, at the inauguration of Coca-Cola’s plant in Canlubang City, Laguna, Aquino volunteered information on the pet issue: “I will preempt the question and say, for the record: yes, my love life is still like Coke Zero. I hope that when I step down from the presidency, it will at least go back to being like Coke Light."

Was he being prescient? He told ABS-CBN News Channel's Tina Monzon-Palma last year that his love life is in fact "not zero," although he said that there is "no single individual" or "regular interaction."

He also said that he's prepared to grow old single. Addressing God, he quipped, "If it’s not [my destiny], can you make me understand why not?"

These statements may come off as jokes but it's obvious that Aquino remains a romantic at heart. He had consistently declined requests to be a wedding ninong (sponsor), because of the superstition that doing so would ruin one's own chance of tying the knot.

In a 2012 media interview, Aquino said that marriage "has been my long-time plan, back when I was still in college. I haven't had much luck."

"Given the burdens of my office, if you have someone you can talk to, if there is someone who will tell you, 'You're still okay,' of course, that is the key to your inspiration," he said then.

Perhaps the bachelor will find that inspiration when his life becomes less public. He often joked with members of the Malacañang Press Corps that he would most likely find love once they stop hounding him.

In an exit interview with Rappler about 3 weeks before the end of his term, Rappler CEO Maria Ressa told Aquino that he will soon have time to go on dates again. "'Yun ang matirirang top secret. Pagkakataon ko na ito (That will remain top secret. This is my chance)," the President replied with a laugh.

This personal matter and how it would eventually turn out for the bachelor may be summed up in his oft-repeated phrase, whenever he's asked about the public's favorite topic: "Hope springs eternal." – Rappler.com

'Stairway to Heaven' plagiarized, court told

LOS ANGELES, USA – Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page and Robert Plant appeared in court on Tuesday, June 14, to deny accusations that they "lifted" the opening bars to iconic rock song "Stairway to Heaven."

The musicians, dressed in black suits, arrived to a throng of reporters at Los Angeles federal court, where a jury of four men and four women was played their anthemic hit.

{source}<iframe width="100%" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/9Q7Vr3yQYWQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>{/source}

Spirit, a psychedelic LA band that enjoyed a niche following but never attained the superstardom of Zeppelin, claims the melancholic guitar that opens "Stairway" was taken from its instrumental track "Taurus."

{source}<iframe width="100%" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/xd8AVbwB_6E" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>{/source}

Spirit's guitarist Randy Wolfe – who went by the nickname Randy California – never took legal action and drowned in Hawaii in 1997, but a lawsuit was filed by his trustee and friend Michael Skidmore, who was in court.

"This case can be summarized in six words: Give credit where credit is due," said Francis Malofiy, Skidmore's attorney.

Malofiy told the jury it could look at the lawsuit "almost like a taste test," asking: "Do these things taste the same? Do these things sound the same?"

The attorney played a recording for the jury of the introduction to "Stairway," describing the arpeggio as a "lifted composition."

At issue is whether Led Zeppelin had access to 1967's "Taurus" before recording "Stairway" in London in December 1970 and January 1971.

No recollection

Zeppelin opened for Spirit when the hard British rockers – Plant, Page, John Paul Jones and the since deceased John Bonham – made their US debut on December 26, 1968 in Denver.

But surviving members of Led Zeppelin have submitted testimony that they never had substantive interaction with Spirit or listened to the band's music.

Defense attorney Peter Anderson told jurors that Page, 72, and Plant, 67, were not familiar with Spirit or its output, and that Page had no recollection of ever hearing "Taurus."

Anderson played the first two minutes and 14 seconds of "Stairway" as Page nodded along.

"'Stairway to Heaven' was written by Jimmy Page and Robert Plant and them alone, period," Anderson said.

Skidmore has not specified the damages he is seeking, but various stories in the music press have posited a possible settlement at anywhere between a symbolic $1 plus a writing credit to as much as $40 million.

The lawsuit speaks of Led Zeppelin's "deep-rooted history of lifting composition from blues artists and other songwriters who they have repeatedly failed to credit."

It lists disputes over 16 other Led Zeppelin songs, many of which were settled by giving the complainant a songwriting credit and royalties, including classics "Whole Lotta Love" and "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You."

'Prodigy'

The court heard from California's younger sister, horse trainer and musician Janet Wolfe, who described her brother as a "prodigy."

Wolfe, of Ventura, California, recalled how the family had traveled to New York in 1966, where Randy, then just 15, met and befriended Jimi Hendrix.

The rock legend hired the youngster to play back-up guitar, and gave him the name "Randy California" to distinguish him from another Randy in the band, the court heard.

Wolfe, 62, recalled how California had complained later in life about Led Zeppelin plagiarizing "Taurus," which he had written for a girlfriend.

"It was something that upset him for many, many years," she said.

Multi-instrumentalist Jay Ferguson, 69, who played with Spirit and later wrote music for film and television, described "Taurus" as a "really special number."

"It was a palate cleanser... it was beautiful. It was a different style of music than anything else we played in the shows," he told the court.

Ferguson, who has written music for Arnold Schwarzenegger action movie The Terminator (1984) and comedy series The Office, said Spirit played the song at the majority of their concerts.

He described having a "meet and greet" with Plant at a Spirit gig in Britain in the 1970s, recalling he was "flattered" that the singer had turned up to see the band.

MANILA, Philippines – Actress and singer Vina Morales said that the complaint she filed against her ex-boyfriend Cedric Lee is not about them but about the welfare of their daughter Ceana.

At the press conference for the upcoming teleserye Born For You, Tuesday, June 14, Vina was asked by reporters for her reaction to the PEP report about Cedric planning to file 6 complaints of libel against her.

"Honestly, this is not about me and Cedric. This is about my child’s welfare. Huwag natin ilihis. Ang main issue is about my daughter’s case, okay? Huwag natin kalimutan iyon. Ang akin, laging naka-focus ako ay yung kaso ng anak ko, and that’s my priority. So that’s my main concern right now," Vina said.

(Honestly, this is not about me and Cedric. This is about my child's welfare. Let's not divert attention from the issue. The main issue is about my daughter's case, okay? Let's not forget that. For me, I'm always focused on the case of my daughter, and that's my priority. So that's my main concern right now.)

According to a report from PEP, Vina said that Cedric "forcibly detained" their daughter for 9 days. Vina was on vacation with her boyfriend abroad when the incident happened.  (READ: Vina Morales says ex Cedric Lee detained their daughter

When asked if she's ready to face the complaint against her by Cedric, Vina reiterated: "Ang pinaglalaban ko dito ay tungkol sa anak ko at yun lang. At hindi mangyayari iyon kung walang nangyari na ganung situation."

(What I'm fighting for here is about my daughter and that's it. And that would not happen if there was no such situation.)

"First of all, nangaling na sa korte. Hindi ko po gawa-gawa ito, that he was never issued a copy granting a visiting agreement for 10 days. Wala pong binigay sa kanilang ganun as they claimed. That’s why he was cited [for] contempt [in] court [for] violating [the] visitation agreement."

(First of all, it came from the court. I did not make this up, that he was never issued a copy granting a visiting agreement for 10 days. There was no such order as they claimed. That's why he was cited for contempt in court for violating the visitation agreement.)

"So wala po akong ginagawang storya dito," Vina said. "Lahat po nito galing sa korte. Hindi naman po magsisinungaling ang korte."

(So I'm not making up any stories. All of this came from the court, and the court would never lie.)

About the bullying that she had accused Cedric of, which the latter denied, Vina repeated it was "not the issue," saying that she is just after the welfare of their daughter, and that she has no intentions of destroying his character.

When asked how she is and her daughter after this issue, Vina said that she and her daughter are alright.

"I’m very good. Kilala niyo naman ako (You all know me). I’m a fighter, you know. I’m a survivor.  Laban kung laban and kung meron kang ipaglalaban eh lumaban ka sa tama (If I have to fight, I would, and if I have something to fight for, might as well, fight for what is right)," she said.

"I can really relate to my role.  Kasi ako naman naging aspiring singer din ako," Vina said. "I’ve tried [...] hindi naman talaga ako nag-audition talaga pero pinagpala lang ako nung sumali ako sa singing contest sa Cebu Pop Music Festival, and bigla ako nanalo ng grand prize

"And from there, doon na nag start ang lahat. But I’ve gone through a lot, talagang madami ako pinagdaanan sa buhay pagdating sa music."

(And from there, that's where everything started. But I've gone through a lot, I went through so much in life when it comes to music.)

Speaking about the tandem of Janella and Elmo Magalona, Vina said that a lot of viewers will definitely feel kilig when they see them on screen.

"I’m kilig. Kilig ako sa kanila. Super kilig ako kasi I see chemistry. Mapapanood niyo iyan kapag nag-start na talaga yung kanilang getting to know each other. And I see them together in Born For You, sa Japan na taping na, 'Uy kinikilig silang dalawa.' So kami kinikilig din sa kanilang dalawa."

"We’re really hoping and praying things will just fall into place sa kanilang dalawa," Vina said of the tandem.

(I'm kilig. I really get kilig with them. Super kilig because I see chemistry. You will see it when they start getting to know each other. And I see them together in Born for You, during the Japan taping, like, 'Uy, they're getting kilig.' So all of us feel kilig with them. We're really hoping and praying things will just fall into place for the two of them.)

Born For You will air on Monday, June 20. – Rappler.com
