MANILA, Philippines – A year after Reynan Dal-Anay won viewers' hearts in The Voice Kids Philippines season 2, the boy from the Manobo tribe of Bukidnon performed onstage once again at president-elect Rodrigo Duterte's thanksgiving party.

Reynan sang two songs at "DU31: One Love, One Nation Thanksgiving Party" in Davao City on July 4.

"Ito po ang kanta para sa inyo at ang ating tatay na si Duterte (This song is for you and for our father, Duterte)," he said, before launching into the first, "Bayan Ko."

Reynan waved the Philippine flag he was holding, thanked his supporters, and invited the crowd to sing along with him.

For his next song, Reynan sang "Tagumpay Nating Lahat," a song also made popular by his coach in The Voice Kids, Lea Salonga.

Reynan made it to the Top 4 of season 2 of the show, but coach Bamboo Manalac's bet, Elha Nympha, won.

The DU31 bash was thrown by Davaoeños for their former mayor Duterte, and his children, incoming Davao City mayor Sara Duterte Carpio and reelected Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte.– Rappler.com

MANILA, Philippines – She's already impressed thousands with her talent as a vocalist, but 13-year-old Antonetthe Tismo, or the "Kakanin Diva," is now about to reach a much wider audience as part of Sharon Cuneta's team on the third season of The Voice Kids Philippines.

In the Sunday, June 5 episode of The Voice Kids, Antonetthe stunned judges with her blind audition, singing "Sayang na Sayang," popularized by Aegis.

All 3 immediately turned for her, but ultimately, she chose to join Sharon's team, saying, "Ikaw po ang napusuan ko." (My heart was drawn to you.)

The eldest of 5 siblings, Antonetthe, who lives with her family under a bridge in Parañaque City, previously appeared in a viral video back in 2014, which earned her the nickname "Kakanin Diva." In the video uploaded by her neighbor, she was asked to sing while she was selling kalamay, a sweet Filipino treat.

Watch her sing below:

The daughter of a construction worker, Antonetthe helps her family repack vegetables, sell street food, and assist cars parking at night. She told host Kim Chiu that her family was her inspiration.

Charice on 'Mega Man' cover, new rock sound

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – In what Mega Man magazine labelled as a "bold and daring" move, Charice Pempengco, a globally-known musician, graced the cover of their June 2016 issue.

It was the second time that the singer-songwriter – simply known as Charice –  appeared in the magazine (the first was in 2013 as one of the Most Powerful LGBTs). But needless to say, landing the cover itself was historic.

"Honestly, dream come true," he told reporters at the press conference, June 3, in a video from Inside Showbiz. "Kasisiyempre, isa 'yan sa mga pangarap ng (of course, it is a dream for) lesbians all over the world – to be on the cover of a men's magazine. To be able to do that, to be on the cover of a men's magazine, it takes a big risk [from] the artist and the company."

The magazine also noted that Charice is more comfortable with a male pronoun, "but isn't selfish enough to push people" to call him as such.

Charice told Oprah in 2014 that his "soul is male," but he is going through more a drastic transformation as a singer and songwriter. On the cover of Mega Man, he is clad in edgy Levi's clothing and armed with a "fresher sound" – beyond hits such as "Pyramid," which made him a global sensation.

He has reinvented his sound from that of a pop sensation to a rocker – as seen in one electrifying rendition he did of Nirvana's grunge standard, "Smells Like Teen Spirit," at one awards show.

Speaking to Rappler last March, Charice was excited to share that he has been working on a new album with tracks he penned himself – along with some help from rock band Mayonnaise. Meanwhile, Mega Man also said that the upcoming record is called Catharsis, which will be released in July.

"It was different, but good different," he told the magazine about how fans received his performances as of late, where he dished out guitar-shredding tracks like Guns N' Roses' "Sweet Child of Mine."

"They were shocked, but towards the end, they were like, 'Oh okay.' It's always like that, people judge first," he continued, assuring that the sound will be unlike the late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain's or anybody else's: "Kasi hindi ko pinilit eh (I didn't force it). I just let it happen."

Last March, Charice was gearing up for international shows, including Myanmar, the Southeast Asian country where he described the fans as "very nice and sweet." He said, "I haven't been to that country. I don't know how my following is there, [so] I was surprised."

"For me as an artist, when you perform on stage, you give it your everything eh. So when the audience appreciates it, even if they don't know the song, but you feel their emotion, 'yun yung (that is the) best feeling for me."

As he tours the globe, Charice shared his own thoughts about what a "global Filipino" means, for someone like him who has been recognized abroad and by figures like Oprah Winfrey and hit-maker David Foster, his own mentor. (READ: David Foster on Charice, Filipino talent, and star-studded PH concert)

He told the magazine that it goes more than global recognition: "Para sa akin, ang (for me, the) global Pinoy, kahit saan ka magpunta alam mo sa sarili mo [na] mahal mo ang pagka-Pilipino mo at proud kang dalhin 'yon kahit saan (wherever you go, you know yourself (you know that you love being Filipino and are proud of bringing it anywhere)."

Touring may have been tough for Charice, but he draws "comfort and sanity" from his girlfriend of 3 years, Alyssa Quijano. "When she's there, I'm already awkward. If she's not there, I'm more awkward," he confessed.

Mega Man asked Charice what it admitted to be a "clichéd" question: "What's the secret to your success?"

The pop singer responded with no frills, yet left a sincere nugget of wisdom contextualized by his own experience: "Just be yourself. 'Yan ang pinakamahirap gawin (That's the toughest to do)." – Rappler.com

MANILA, Philippines – Jason Momoa, known as Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones, has been supportive of his Khaleesi's latest ventures in Essos. He's been following the show long he left in season 1, and he has been dishing out his own hilarious commentary on Instagram. (LOOK: Jason Momoa cheers on his 'boo' Khaleesi on 'Game of Thrones')

This time, he shows his love for Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), his Khaleesi – or as he once put it, "boo" – by addressing her dragon, Drogon, the fiery brute named after him.

"Dear DROGON, wish we would have met. I think we have a lot in common," he wrote on Instagram with a screenshot of the dragon's agape jaw from this season's 6th episode, "Blood of My Blood." (READ: This character makes a shocking 'Game of Thrones' return)

"Unfortunately, your mother killed me with a pillow. It's hard to explain. But nevertheless I still love her even though she hangs out with lesser men than me. Watch her back, trust no one, and kill ['em] all for me."

Jason signs his message: "Yours truly, KHAL muthaf*ckin DROGO."

'My New Sassy Girl' Review: A rickety continuation

Jo Geun-shik’s My New Sassy Girl starts off where Kwak Jae-young’s My Sassy Girl ends, but only with the character of Gyun-woo (Cha Tae-hyun) returning.

Jun Ji-hyun, whose indelible turn as the first film’s (2001) frequently drunk, occasionally violent but always charming titular sassy girl, is gone. Her character has broken up with Gyun-woo because she wants to become a nun.

This leaves Jo with no option but to recruit a new character from Gyun-woo’s mostly unexplored childhood to serve as replacement.

{source}<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/WC_ZzqOlQ2k" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>{/source}

It’s all good, except that a lot was invested in romance between Gyun-woo and his initial sassy girl, given that the first film has inspired a lot of fanfare because of its earnest depiction of a lopsided love affair.

It worked because of the efforts of both lovers and the inevitability of fate. That the sequel chose to throw all that behind via a whimsical punchline feels like a punch in the gut for a lot of the original film’s devotees.

It would take a lot for the replacement to get past the convenient shattering of that romantic promise.

Bad news and good news

The bad news here is that Victoria Song, who plays Gyun-woo's childhood sweetheart and eventual love-of-his-life, does not have the same charisma as Jun.

The good news, however, is that My New Sassy Girl, despite not having the same seamless romantic groove as its predecessor, is entertaining enough – with wiggle room for more mature introspection.

Gyun-woo and his new girl first met as kids. The new girl is a transferee from China who gets picked on by her classmates. At one point, Gyun-woo rescues her from her tormentors, leading to a childhood romance that is prematurely terminated when the girl has to return to China.

The two soon-to-be lovers meet again and get hitched after a very quick romance, which plays out like a haphazardly paced version of the original film.

My New Sassy Girl distinguishes itself from its predecessor in depicting the hardships of the early stages of marriage.

Gyun-woo tries his best to be the good husband that his wife expects him to be by taking a job at a telecommunications company. However, his promising job turns out to be a fluke, forcing him to live a double life of being a successful provider at home but a corporate slave at work.

Not as delightful

Surely, My New Sassy Girl is not as delightful as the first film. This one attempts to retain the frenetic and often ludicrous energy that enveloped My Sassy Girl, but mostly fumbles.

A lot of the scenes that are supposedly hilarious fall flat, with Jo relying on glossy visual effects or derivative gimmicks to maintain the cuteness and the flavor. They just aren’t as spontaneous as they were before.

The scenes feel contrived, which betrays the entire unpredictability that is being sold as part of the romance’s initial charms.

Stable footing

It is only when the film shifts towards drama that it finds a more stable footing.

The draw of My Sassy Girl was not just because it was confident of its anticlimax without worry of being too syrupy or awkward. It was also a rare romantic comedy that had the leading man's emasculation as its primary source of entertainment.

Throughout the film, the audience is treated to stunts where Gyun-woo is physically maltreated or humiliated but still ends up falling for the girl who abused him. The hidden spectacle of My Sassy Girl is the lengths a man would go to abandon his dignity in an earnest effort to prove his love to a girl.

My New Sassy Girl continues with the tradition, but expands the scope of emasculation not only within the borders of a romance but as a given in a society of patriarchies.

The only requirement of Song’s sassy girl for Gyun-woo is to be a good husband, and Gyun-woo – being the stunted man-child that he has always been – obeys it whole-heartedly to the point of allowing himself to be humiliated in a grander and more poignant scope.

In a way, the film has matured like its imperfect hero, touching on societal expectations on men within the limits of a genre that is all about the escapist invention called love.

Surrounded by pink-hued decorations and baked goodies, the couple celebrated the coming birth of their baby girl with guests that include Troy Montero and Will Devaughn.

Guests and photography studio Nice Print photo shared some photos of the event on social media:

NEW YORK, USA – Thousands of fans clogged New York's streets early Monday, June 6, on hopes of a surprise show by rap superstar Kanye West, who appeared in the crowd but ultimately did not play.

West had been due Sunday to headline New York's Governors Ball festival, but the final day was canceled on fears of heavy thunderstorms.

After West wrote vaguely on Twitter about a show at 2:00 am (0700 GMT), a sea of fans converged around Webster Hall, a historic venue in the city's East Village neighborhood and favorite spot for unannounced gigs.

{source}

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Show at 2am SOLD OUT</p>&mdash; KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) <a href="https://twitter.com/kanyewest/status/739683751127568384">June 6, 2016</a></blockquote>

Police were forced for more than an hour to close the area to traffic, with authorities sending out a traffic notice to residents, after thousands swarmed onto the streets including on parked cars, some chanting West's name.

As a black car neared the venue, fans surrounded it and forced the vehicle to slow, with a smiling West appearing out of the sunroof to acknowledge the crowd, footage posted on social media showed.

But West ultimately did not play, likely due to the mayhem.

Webster Hall, whose main floor has a capacity of 1,500, informed that there would be no late surprise show and asked fans to go home.

West's appearance at the Governors Ball festival, which takes place on Randall's Island in the city's East River, would have been one of his first shows since he released his latest album The Life of Pablo in February.

Playboy Mansion sold to Twinkies owner

LOS ANGELES, USA – The Playboy Mansion, the legendary party house where Hollywood's elite cavorted with scantily-clad "bunnies," is being sold to the billionaire Twinkies owner who lives next door, a spokesman said Monday.

Hugh Hefner, the 90-year-old owner of the Holmby Hills estate in southern California and founder of Playboy Magazine, will be permitted to continue living there for the rest of his life.

The buyer is Daren Metropoulos, a 32-year-old business tycoon who lives on the property next door to the mansion, which he bought from Hefner in 2009 for $18 million.

"We can confirm that the Playboy Mansion is in escrow with Daren Metropoulos as the buyer," a Playboy spokesman told AFP.

"Due to confidentiality restrictions, we are not able to comment on any specifics, including what contingencies need to be cleared to close the sale."

Metropoulos is a principal at private-equity firm Metropoulos and Co., which co-owns Hostess Brands, the maker of Twinkies, an iconic American snack.

He intends to connect the two estates into a combined 7.3-acre compound once Hefner dies, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The paper quoted Metropoulos as saying the mansion's heritage "transcends its celebrity" and that "to have the opportunity to serve as its steward would be a true privilege."

He declined to disclose the purchase price, although the estate was valued at $200 million when Playboy Enterprises put it up for sale earlier this year.

Built in 1927 and bought by Hefner for $1 million in 1971, the property was emblematic of Hollywood's excess, hosting its infamous pool parties with a lingerie-only dress code for the female guests who cavorted in the caved grotto.

Elvis reportedly slept with eight Playmates at once at the 12-bedroom stately home, while John Lennon once burned a Matisse original with a cigarette.

The sale comes soon after the magazine's recent relaunch as a mainstream publication with no full-frontal nudity, and with the parent company on sale for an estimated $500 million. – Rappler.com

MANILA, Philippines – Sadako and Kayako, the vengeful spirits from The Ring and The Grudge(Ju-On) and the stuff of everyone's nightmares, battled it out on the baseball field just before they face off on the big screen later this June.

These baddies' ceremonial first pitch is meant to be a marketing stunt for the upcoming film Sadako vs Kayako, which pits the two vengeful spirits from huge Japanese horror franchises against each other. They are Sadako Yamamura from The Ring and Kayako Saeki from The Grudge.

The Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters and Tokyo Yakult Swallows game starts with cheerleaders pumping up the crowd, before the whole thing turned bizarre when the stadium's big screen produces static to reveal the video tape recording from The Ring

The cheerleaders run away as the two creepy wraiths take to the field: Sadako, with glove and ball in hand, and Kayako with the bat and ghostly little Toshio by her side.

Sadako pitches, with the ball going at 96 km/h, and bloodied Kayako manages to hit it. Toshio steals all the bases on the latter's behalf, and then the real game commences.

The crossover horror film, Sadako vs Kayako, arrives in Japanese cinemas on June 18. – Rappler.com

Vina said she was on vacation with her current boyfriend, Marc Lambert, when the incident happened. She had been posting photos of her trip to Switzerland and Saint-Tropez since May 10.

“She [Ceana] is only 7 years old and was confused with what happened and a bit traumatized,” Vina added.

She also said that she's done being silent when it comes to fighting for her child: “Ngayon, handa na akong lumaban para sa anak ko. May hangganan din ang pambu-bully niya sa akin at sa pamilya ko.” (Now, I'm ready to fight for my child. There are limits to his bullying me and my family too.)

Cedric, a businessman, and Vina broke up in 2009.

In 2014, Cedric, Deniece Cornejo, and 5 others were charged with serious illegal detention and grave coercion, but they posted bail in September. This, because of Vhong Navarro's allegations that Lee's company beat him up after Deniece accused him of rape.

In July 2015, the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 153 affirmed bail for Cedric Lee, Deniece Cornejo and Simeon “Zimmer” Raz. – Rappler.com

MANILA, Philippines – Ahead of the Tony Awards this coming Sunday, James Corden brought along Lin-Manuel Miranda, the star and playwright behind the musical Hamilton, for a ride in his carpool – this time, down the streets of New York City. After all, James is hosting this year's awards night, and what ensued was a show tune-filled edition of Carpool Karaoke.

James and Lin-Manuel launched into "Alexander Hamilton" from the latter's own musical, which has hauled a record of 16 Tony nominations – the most in Broadway history.

Later, other Broadway stars hopped into the car: Audra McDonald, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Jane Krakowski. Soon after, the whole car launched into "Seasons of Love" from Rent in such great harmony.

In between singing, James would ask for advice as to how he could succeed in hosting this year's awards night.

"They want to have a great time. It's a long evening, so just have fun. That's what they want more than anything. Belt out a few show tunes," says Audra. "Ask them to sing along with you. They will do it."

James and the rest of the car sing "Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You" from Jersey Boys, and finally close with the grandiose "One Day More" from Les Misérables. Lin-Manuel does Jean Valjean's part, while Jesse and Audra do Marius and Cosette, Jane does Eponine, and James nails it as Enjolras.

LOUISVILLE, USA – Actor Will Smith and former boxing world champion Lennox Lewis will serve as pallbearers together with six other people during Muhammad Ali's funeral Friday, a spokesman said.

The charismatic Ali, a dazzling fighter and outspoken civil rights activist who became one of the 20th century's towering figures, died Friday at age 74 after health problems complicated by a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

Smith, who played the title role in Michael Mann's film Ali (2001), became close to the boxing legend after the filming.

Lewis, who was born in Britain, is considered one of the greatest boxers of the last 25 years, having won several world titles in the 1990s and 2000s.

The two celebrities will carry Ali's coffin together with six family members and close family friends, family spokesman Bob Gunnell said.

The funeral ceremony is set to take place on Friday in Ali's hometown of Louisville, Kentucky in front of a huge crowd. It will be broadcast around the world.

The funeral will follow a procession through the streets and will be preceded on Thursday by a family funeral and an Islamic prayer service held in the 18,000-seat Freedom Hall.

The Louisville funeral is aimed at sending a universal message of peace and tolerance, according to organizers.

Ali died in Phoenix, Arizona, where he had recently lived. His body was returned to Louisville by private plane on Sunday.

He will be buried at Louisville's Cave Hill Cemetery. – Rappler.com

CEDRIC LEE RESPONDS. Cedric denies allegations by his ex-girlfriend Vina Morales that he detained their daughter forcibly and violated their visitation agreement. Vina Morales photo by Mark Cristino/Rappler, Cedric Lee photo by Rappler

MANILA, Philippines – Cedric Lee denied his ex-girlfriend Vina Morales' allegations that he forcibly detained their daughter Ceana for 9 days. This, after Vina filed a complaint that also stated he broke visitation rights. (READ: Vina Morales says ex Cedric Lee detained their daughter)

In a statement to Pep, Cedric said that his and Vina's custody case has been going on for 3 years, with a signed agreement dating 2013 regarding visitation, holidays, and summer holidays.

Vina herself, he said, violated some of their rules about visiting times, and the court has noted that she owed him 10 days with Ceana.

He added: "During the 8 days I was with Ceana, my lawyers were constantly in touch with her lawyer and family. They knew when I was going to take my daughter home."

Cedric also denied what Vina said about Ceana being traumatized by the time spent with him and his family. Photos on Pep show the father-daughter duo spending time together in public – outdoors, at a mall, and at a kids' play area.

On the 8th day he was with her, Cedric said, Ceana was asked to go to court.

"My daughter is not aware of the court case we have," Cedric told Pep. "This may have traumatized her as she did not know what was going on. I have never bullied Vina and have gone through the right avenue. I believe my child has a right to have both her father and mother in her life."

Cedric also said that he stayed quiet when he couldn't see Ceana for a year, and that the publicity of their current situation "has gotten out of hand." He expressed hope that he and Vina can iron things out soon.

In a statement to the press from his lawyer, J Ricardo Moreño, Cedric intends to answer Vina's allegations against him in court so as not to violate the sub judice rule and to protect Ceana's well-being.

Vina's complaint

Cedric's statement was a reaction to Vina's complaint filed on June 3. A hearing, she said, will be held on Thursday, June 8.

Vina accused Cedric of keeping their daughter Ceana forcibly detained for 9 days and of violating court-approved visitation rights, which state that he can only visit Ceana on Saturdays.

In a previous statement, Vina said that she was through with being silent when it comes to fighting for her child, saying, "May hangganan din ang pambu-bully niya sa akin at sa pamilya ko.” (There are limits to his bullying me and my family.)

Cedric, a businessman, and Vina broke up in 2009.

Seguerra wrote, "It will help our president kung hindi tayo one-sided at marunong tayong magbigay ng respeto sa opinion ng iba (if we aren't one-sided and if we respect other people's opinions) instead of fanning the flames of hatred towards people who don't share the same point of view or opinion."

"Wala naman problema ipagtanggol si Tay Digong. Pero ayusin naman natin. Maging responsable naman tayo dahil dala-dala natin ang pangalan niya," he continued.

(There's no problem in defending Tay Digong, but let's do it properly. Let's be responsible because we carry his name.)

The actor and musician also exhorted his fellow supporters to be more judicious when it comes to news and the information that they encounter.

Seeming to refer to netizens who have tagged the media as "biased" and to social media posts calling for citizen "press volunteers," he said, "Gusto nyong maging media ni Duterte? Then you have to be fair. Nagrereklamo tayo na biased ang media. Eh kayo? Kaya niyo bang hindi maging biased?"

(You want to become Duterte's media? Then you have to be fair. You're complaining that the media are biased. How about you? Can you manage not to be biased?)

"Yung iba nga sa inyo, ang tindi ninyong mangutya agad-agad dahil lang hindi ninyo nagustuhan ang sinabi," Seguerra continued. "Galit na galit tayo sa binabato kay Tay Digong, eh minsan nauuna pa ang iba sa atin na mambato sa iba ng mas masasama pang salita dahil lamang iba sila ng pananaw. 'Yan ba yung pinagmamalaki ninyong pagbabago?"

(Some of you, you're so quick to riducule just because you don't like what is being said. We're angry at what is being hurled at Tay Digong, yet sometimes, some of you throw are the first to say crueler things just because they don't share the same perspective. Is that the change that you're so proud of?)

"In the same way na sinasabi natin na alamin ang konteksto ng mga statements ni Tay Digong, gawin din natin yon para sa ibang tao. Hindi porke't iba sa opinyon ninyo, aawayin niyo na. The more na nambabastos tayo, lalong nasisira ang pagtingin nila sa mahal nating presidente."

(In the same way that we tell others to know the context of what Tay Digong is saying, let us do this ourselves as well for other people. Not just because your opinion is different, you'll quarrel with them. The more that we're rude, the more that the reputation of our president is harmed.)

Seguerra added that there is always a civil way of "protecting and defending our President" without resorting to mudslinging or rude tactics.

He said, "We cannot be blind followers na bibirahin nalang lahat ng hindi sangayon sa atin (We cannot be blind followers who will just attack anyone who doesn't agree with us)."

"As much as gusto natin na pare-pareho tayong opinion about certain matters, imposible 'yon. At kung mag-aaway tayo at mag babastusan at mag-rereklamo ng walang katapusan at maninira dahil lamang iba tayo ng pananaw, then there can be no peace."

(As much as we want to share our opinions with everyone about certain matters, that’s impossible. And if we're going to fight, act rudely, endlessly complain, and disparage others just for having a different perspective, then there can be no peace.)

Seguerra reminded everyone that Duterte had once appealed for unity: "'Yun ang ang unang-unang sinabi ni Digong nung nanalo siya. He wants us to be united kahit magkakaiba tayo ng opinion, relihiyon, ideology at paniniwala.Hindi lang ang mga political parties, hindi lang ang mga naging kalaban sa eleksyon kundi tayong lahat."

(That is the first thing Digong said when he won. He wants us to be united in spite of differences in opinion, religion, ideology, and belief. Not just political parties, not just his opponents during the elections, but all of us.)

Seguerra ended his post: "Digong needs our help. We all want our COUNTRY to succeed. If we want CHANGE; WE HAVE TO WORK TOGETHER."

After casting his vote last May 9, Duterte said at a press conference in Davao City, "I would like to address myself to my opponents. These past few days have been quite virulent for all of us – the black propaganda and false accusations. Let us begin the healing now."

Since the campaign season, netizens who claim to be supporters of Duterte have launched into virulent tactics over social media: bullying, harassing, and sending death threats to people who have been critical of the incoming president.

After a specific case with a University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) student who was harassed by such netizens, Duterte told reporters in an interview last March: "I’d like to caution them, remember that this is a democracy, the rule is I may disagree with you but I will defend your right to say it. That is the golden rule for everybody here."

However, his then-running mate, Alan Peter Cayetano previously suggested, following his team's investigation, that some of these supporters may actually be "fake" or just posing to smear Duterte's campaign. – Rappler.com

From selling EPs out of her backpack to playing at the upcoming Bandwagon Riverboat festival in Singapore, BP Valenzuela has come a long way.

I first came across BP in college, where she quickly gained popularity on campus for her music and distinct live performance style – creating beats and recording sounds to loop, providing her own backing music to complement her vocals.

In the span of a few months, BP was going door-to-door at student organizations' rooms asking if anyone wanted to buy her EP, starring in her own music video with the help of a common friend of ours, and then transferring to a different school to study music.

Today, BP has released her first full-length album The Neon Hour and plays small gigs and big music festivals like Wanderland 2015 and GoodVybes Fest 2016. She'll be playing at Bandwagon Riverboat in Singapore on June 10, too.

Watch BP live on Rappler to listen to her dreamy sound, ask questions or just to say hi! – Rappler.com
