MANILA, Philippines – The movie Heneral Luna has been nominated in 3 categories in the 10th Asian Film Awards to be held at The Venetian Theatre in Macau on March 17.
Heneral Luna star John Arcilla is a nominee in the Best Actor category. He will go up against Donnie Yen (Ip Man 3), Masatoshi Nagase (An), Feng Xiaogang (Mr Six), and Lee Byung-Hun (Inside Men).
The movie also earned nominations for Best Production Design for Carlo Tabije and Benjamin Padero, and Best Costume Design.
Directed by Jerrold Tarog, Heneral Luna follows the career and death of Antonio Luna, an important figure in the Philippine-American war and one of Philippine history's most prominent figures. The movie has received good reviews and was even selected as the Philippines' official entry to the Best Foreign Language Film category of the 2016 Oscars.
