MANILA, Philippines – Kina Grannis bushed up on her Filipino-speaking skills with fellow musician and YouTuber AJ Rafael.
Kina's coming to Manila on September 27 and she got ready to meet her Filipino fans by getting a Filipino lesson from none other than Filipino musician AJ Rafael.
Aside from the standard "Kumusta Pilipinas!" (Hey Philippines!) AJ also taught Kina how to say "Balut (duck embryo, a local delicacy) is good." Watch the video above to hear Kina practice stringing these lines together.
Kina is coming to Manila for her Elements Asia Tour and her Manila concert will be held at the Kia Theater at Araneta Center.

Kina rose to fame after posting videos of her songs on YouTube and then winning the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest in 2008. The contest got her a contract with Interscope Records, and she's been making music since.
Aside from doing covers, collaborating with other YouTube artists, and touring, Kina also released a new album in May.
