MANILA, Philippines – The 2015 Cool Japan Festival is bringing Japanese culture to fans in Manila, with performances, shows and small shops set up for people to enjoy. Among the lineup: Japanese girl group AKB48 and Filipino cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao.

Team 8, which, according to the festival's website, consists of 12 of the 48 members of AKB48, will be at the event, performing live and talking to audience members. This is the first time that they'll be in the Philippines, too.

AKB48 is short for Akihabara48, after Akihabara in Tokyo, where the group has its own theater. After debuting in 2005, the original 48-member group has expanded to include more than a hundred members, and has sister groups in Japan, China, and Indonesia.

On the other hand, Alodia will be performing a cosplay show with the Japanese group Akishibu Project. She'll also have a talk show after the performance, according to the festival's website.
