MANILA, Philippines – Singer Sam Concepcion got quite a reaction from the audience when he imitated heartthrob James Reid on Your Face Sounds Familiar, Sunday, November 1.
Sam performed James' hit "Natataranta" onstage. The jurors commended Sam for his great performance.
"You never fail to give whoever is assigned to you your very, very best," Sharon Cuneta told Sam, saying that he has her respect.
Jed said: "It really helped na mag-best friends kayo. Totoo talaga 'yung sinasabi nila na 'pag halos magkasabay kayo lagi, magkasama, nagiging magkamukha kayo 'no. Kanina, nung nandito si James, kumakanta kayo, sumasabay 'yung galaw niyo, parang mirror na magkaharap kayo. Another good job, another great performance."
(It helped that you are best friends in real life. It's really true what they say that when you're always together, you begin to imitate each other. When James was here and both of you were singing, both of you were moving together like you were mirroring each other.)
Gary Valenciano said that the challenge for Sam was his moves to be as close to James' as possible, and he nailed it.
James, who happened to be in the audience, also praised Sam for his performance. The two are good friends in real life.
"Actually, mas magaling pa siya sa akin. Mas gusto ko 'yung James Reid niya," (Actually, he's better than me. I like his James Reid better)," James joked.
