MANILA, Philippines – Singer-comedian Blakdyak, best known as the singer behind hit novelty songs in the '90s, was found dead in his condominium unit in Manila on Monday, November 21.
According to a tweet from GMA News, the body of the singer (real name Joseph Formoran Amoto) was found lifeless. ABS-CBN reported that his son found him dead around 6 pm.
No other details about the cause of his death have been released as of posting.
Blakdyak, who hails from Zambales, was well known for a number of songs including "Modelong Charing," "Noon At Ngayon," and "Asin At Paminta." He's also appeared in a few movies.
In 2014, he made headlines when was arrested due to drug allegations. A 2015 report from ABS-CBN said that he had worked to recover after his arrest, planning on an an album with composer Lito Camo. – Rappler.com
