BULACAN, Philippines – Thousands of AlDub fans filled the Philippine Arena to watch their favorite tandem for Eat Bulaga's huge "Tamang Panahon" event, a major gathering where Alden and Yaya Dub will finally get to be together and meet all their admirers.
Fans have been waiting for the moment that characters Alden (played by Alden Richards) and Yaya Dub (Maine Mendoza) will be allowed to date since the show's segment "Juan for All, All for Juan" started in July. Alden and Yaya Dub have been kept apart by Yaya's gradually softening boss, Lola Nidora, until today.
According to Lola's constant refrain, everything happens at the right time, or "tamang panahon."
On social media, fans have been cheering the tandem on and making it trend everyday. Early in October, Twitter Asia Pacific and Middle East Vice President Rishi Jaitly called AlDub a "global phenomenon," after the hashtag #AlDubEBforLove pulled in 26 million tweets. During the October 24 event, fans got #ALDubEBTamangPanahon trending worldwide hours before the event started. According to the Philippine Arena's Facebook page and Eat Bulaga co-host Tito Sotto, the "Tamang Panahon" event was sold out. According to this Rappler article, the Arena seats 50,000.
