MANILA, Philippines – Britney Spears made a comeback to the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 28, (Monday, August 29, in Manila).
Wearing a sexy yellow outfit, Britney sang her new song, "Make Me," with G-Eazy. She also performed with him "Me, Myself & I."
MTV earlier confirmed that Britney will perform at the show. She also made the announcement on her social media accounts.
Britney has performed many times in the previous VMAs. Most memorably, she sang "I'm a Slave 4 U" in 2001 with a python and stunned the 2003 VMAs by locking lips with Madonna.
Her last VMA performance in 2007 was labeled as one of her career's lowest points – occurring just before her very public meltdown later that year.
Britney was one of the top artists of the late 1990s but her messy personal life contributed to her spectacular career fall.
The "Toxic" singer, on the verge of a career comeback, admitted earlier this week she was nervous to make her return to the VMAs after a much-criticized last appearance in 2007.
The singer had turned heads on the red carpet earlier in the evening in a one-shouldered, figure-hugging LBD with a revealing slit to the hip and black heels.
She has just launched her newest album, Glory, and is also currently the star of her own Las Vegas residency, "Britney: Piece of Me," at Planet Hollywood. – With reports from Agence France-Presse / Rappler.com
