MANILA, Philippines –  A few more details have been unveiled after police operatives of the Southern Police District (SPD) arrested radio DJ Karen Bordador and boyfriend Emilio Lim. Lim is an alleged big time supplier of party drugs distributed to popular bars in Makati and Bonifacio High Street.

Lim and Bordador were arrested on Saturday, August 13 by the Taguig City Police Station Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operations Task Group, together with the police operatives of Eastern Police District (EPD) and Philippines Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

The groups conducted a buy-bust operation in a condominium in Pasig City, which resulted in the raid of various party drugs such as ecstasy powder, cracked ecstasy, marijuana, and various paraphernalia, amounting to P2.8 million.

The release said that Bordador was in Lim's unit and "helped the suspect to consummate the sale of the ecstasy to a poseur buyer.

"Immediately, the police operatives arrested Lim and Bordador who tried to resist the arrest by closing the door of the condominium unit." (READ: Celebrities on Karen Bordador's arrest)

Lim was discovered to have been an alleged pusher after a Filipino-American named Evan Reanald Baylon was also arrested in a buy-bust operation at the Fort for selling 6 pieces of ecstasy to a buyer.

The two are currently in the custody of the Southern Police District Detention, with the police eyeing charges for the following violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act Of 2002):

  • Section 5 (Sale, trading, administration, dispensation, delivery, distribution, and transportation of dangerous drugs and/or controlled precursors and essential chemicals)
  • Section 11 (Possession of dangerous drugs)
  • Section 12 (Possession of equipment, instrument, apparatus and other paraphernalia for dangerous drugs)
  • Section 26 (Attempt or conspiracy)

In a statement, National Capital Region Police Office Acting Regional Director, PCSupt Oscar Albayalde said: "Our campaign is far from over. Rest assured that the NCRPO will not stop until Metro Manila will become a drug-free region." – Rappler.com
