MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Bianca Gonzalez Intal took to Twitter to defend herself after posting an opinion about fans' intense dedication to getting a topic trending online.

According to a report from Pep, the conversation started from Bianca's tweet, which read: "The pressure that some fans put on themselves to trend is getting out of hand. I hope they know that’s not what matters most." The tweet currently does not appear on her page.

While she did not mention any names, many fans of the AlDub tandem (or Alden Richards and Maine "Yaya Dub" Mendoza) posted their reactions. Some of them questioned Bianca's post. Bianca said she was just concerned about the priorities of today's teens.

Previously, fans of AlDub also reacted to a tweets about alleged criticism against the tandem. Broadway star and multi-awarded actress Lea Salonga drew strong reaction from the tandem's fans for a tweet about "kababawan" (shallowness), though she did not name anyone in the tweet. She later clarified that she was not pertaining to any love team in particular.

The AlDub tandem was born out of Eat Bulaga's "Juan For All, All For Juan" segment, where the characters Alden and Yaya Dub are in love, but kept apart by Yaya's boss, Lola Nidora.

The show's September 26 episode #ALDUBEBforLove gathered 25 million tweets, making it one of the most buzzed about #AlDub episodes on social media. (READ: #AlDub: 7 Lessons from the success of the 'global phenomenon')  – Rappler.com
