MANILA, Philippines – Cesar Montano said that Robin Padilla sent a message to him after finding out he took on the role in the movie Nilalang.
In an interview with the press during the cast part of the movie Nilalang, Monday, October 12, Cesar shared that he got a text from Robin, who was very happy to hear he took on the role after he backed out to take care of his wife, TV host Mariel Rodriguez.
"Actually shinare ko yung text [ni Robin] kay Direk Pedring [Lopez, director]. Sabi niya 'ang ganda naman nung tinext sa iyo ni Robin.' Tuwang-tuwa siya. Nakaiyak yung text niya, sabi niya ‘Bro, I’m so happy na ikaw yung gagawa, I feel honored that ikaw yung gagawa kapatid.' Sabi niya sa akin 'maraming salamat na tinanggap mo iyan.'
(Actually, I shared the text to Direk Pedring. He said 'Robin's text to you is beautiful.' He was really happy. The text message was very emotional, he said 'Bro. I'm so happy that you're the one who will do the film. I feel honored that you will do it brother.' He also said. 'Thank you for accepting the movie.')
"Actually nakakatuwa, matagal ko nang kapatid iyan si Robin. He knows my soul as he knows mine," Cesar said. (Actually, I'm so happy because Robin has long been a brother of mine.)
As for working with Maria Ozawa, Cesar said he was very honored and happy to be working with her. (READ: Maria Ozawa on adult films: 'I quit the industry 100%')
"I feel honored. I feel blessed na maging ka-partner is Maria and tulad nung sinabi ko she’s very professional, madali siyang katrabaho sa set. Wala siyang angal," he said.
(I feel blessed to be Maria's partner and like I said, she's very professional, she's easy to work with on the set. She has no complaints.)
In Nilalang, Maria plays a daughter of a Yakuza member. Cesar is a cop who seeks her help in a series of murders.
Hollywood film
Meanwhile, Cesar said that he is set to leave for the US soon after he was offered a role by Marty Katz, one of the producers of the movie The Great Raid, which he was part of in 2005.

"Meron akong isang Hollywood movie na prineprepare (I have a Hollywood movie that I'm preparing for). [It's the ]same producer, si Marty Katz, yung sa The Great Raid, so he offered me another job... sa US ang shooting," Cesar said.
Cesar said this is also the reason why he had decided not to entertain any offer to run for the elections as pre-production is scheduled next year. (READ: Cesar Montano proud of son Diego Loyzaga, misses daughters with Sunshine Cruz)
"Gusto ko muna mag-focus sa (I want to focus on the) movie, sa career as an actor, as a writer, as a director," he said.
When asked about his co-stars, Cesar said that the producers have yet to make a full announcement about the cast.
When asked if he is open to doing TV dramas, Cesar said: "Though I love to do it, pero baka hindi muna ako makapag-commit from January and the 3 months. Hindi ko kayang mag-commit kasi soon matatamaan nung pre-prod namin (I cannot fully commit because it affects the pre-prod stage) probably shooting days." – Rappler.com
