MANILA, Philippines – Sherlock will be back on TV in 2017, and a first look at what's to come premiered at San Diego Comic-Con 2016.
"Something's coming," says Sherlock as the trailer starts. "Maybe it's Moriarty... maybe it's not."
It looks like a lot of action is in store for Sherlock Holmes in this 4th season, with scenes from the trailer showing gunmen dropping down into a room and helicopters flying over a beach.
Fans also get a first look at Toby Jones, who was cast as a villain on season 4 in May. "We're going to have endless fun Mr Holmes, aren't we?" his character asks through an open car window.
"Oh no. No, not endless," answers Sherlock.
Of course, Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular character makes an appearance, as well as Sherlock's brother Mycroft (Mark Gatiss) and Watson (Martin Freeman).
"The roads we walk have demons beneath," says a voice at the end of the trailer, as shots of a scared-looking Sherlock and a hospital flash. "And yours have been waiting for a long time."
