MANILA, Philippines – Shaina Magdayao said that she and the family are extra careful with the safety of her niece Ceana, daughter of Shaina's sister Vina Morales, after Ceana was allegedly detained for 9 days by her father Cedric Lee. Cedric has denied the allegations.
"We’re very careful but at the same time, nagtitiwala kami that no one is above the law and nagtitiwala din kami sa mga lawyers namin. Magiging maayos din ito in due time," she told reporters during the press conference for the movie Dukot, Saturday, July 2. Shaina and Enrique Gil lead the cast of the movie, where Shaina plays Enrique's sister.

"Medyo malayo ang agwat. Because we did this movie January, February… I was doing My Candidate so medyo malayo po siya sa nangyari sa amin. Nine days with my pamangkin, naibalik naman sa amin then medyo we wanted to be very careful doon sa mga statements namin na ibibigay now kasi nasa korte pa siya," she said.
(It's quite far. Because we did this movie Janaury, February...I was doing My Candidate so it was very far from what happened to us. Nine days with my niece, she was given back to us and we wanted to be very careful with the statements we come out with since it's already with the court.)
Shaina also said that has she done the movie at the time Ceana was away, it would have been very different.

Cedric meanwhile denied Vina's accusations that he has detained Ceana, saying that his lawyers have been in touch with Vina's lawyer and family regarding his plans to take Ceana out. He also denied the accusations that he has been bullying Vina and her family.
