According to a report from TVLine, Tom will play a character named Julian Dorn, a crime scene investigator at the Central City "who suspects there’s more to Barry Allen than just his good guy reputation."
The English actor himself also confirmed this in an Instagram post, which is captioned: "Aloha from a post office queue. Thank you for all your kind words today. See you in a flash. The Flash."

Tom has acted in other TV series such as Murder in the First.
The upcoming season of The Flash is reported to be tackling DC Comics' Flashpoint story arc, which in a nutshell, has Barry Allen (aka The Flash) waking up to an alternate timeline with very crucial differences.
