MANILA, Philippines – The trailer for the movie Dukot starring Enrique Gil is now out.
Everything seems to be harmonious in Carlo's (Enrique Gil) family, but beneath, there's a hint of discord.
"I know hindi masaya si Dad sa akin (Dad isn't happy with me) because I never lived up to his expectations," he tells his sister (Shaina Magdayao).
Then, armed men declares a holdup in an establishment where the siblings are. Instead of his sister being taken away, Carlo gives up his own freedom for her.
Carlo's family must now pay the ransom demanded by the kidnappers, or his life will be in danger.
It's not as simple as this, though, as Carlo's mother (Bing Pimentel) confronts her husband (Ricky Davao) where he got the ransom money.
The movie also stars Christopher de Leon, Pen Medina, Ping Medina, Alex Medina, Bangs Garcia and Dino Pastrano. It is directed by Paul Soriano, who directed Kid Kulafu and was a producer behind Lav Diaz's Hele sa Hiwagang Hapis.
Dukot also sees Enrique in a different role from his usual leading man characters such as those in TV series Forevermore and Dolce Amore.
The film is scheduled to be released in cinemas on July 13. – Rappler.com
