MANILA, Philippines – Another high profile celebrity couple has split: Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid. The singer and model dated for about 7 months.
E! News reports that the reason behind their breakup is unclear; however, the entertainment outfit also said that the relationship has had some "rough patches" for some time now.
Their report cited a source who said that the two quarrelled during her birthday and have "broken up and got back together a few times."
A source for People magazine says however that "it seems like it's not totally over" between them, as if it was just a "break." Another source also told the magazine that the two broke up "a couple of weeks ago."
E! News also said that their source raised the possibility of a reconciliation: "Zayn and Gigi did break up, but they can likely get back together tomorrow. It's all very unclear what's going on between them now. They been having some issues lately that involved communication and getting along."
Their source added, "Gigi is really sad about this, though, and in a way would like to work it out. It's more about that constant contact with Zayn that she misses and they did get very close."
Recently, Gigi posted a cryptic love message on Snapchat: a picture of a t-shirt with a red heart on one of its sleeves with a note below that said, "I know it's obvious, but I love you."
The two made their red carpet debut at this year's Met Gala.
The music video for Zayn's first post-One Direction debut single, "Pillowtalk," also featured Gigi Hadid. – Rappler.com
