MANILA, Philippines – On Thursday, May 12, Robin Padilla requested the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to determine the identity and whereabouts of Twitter user krizzy_kalerqui (aka Miss Krizzy), who accused him of violating election law. The letter, addressed to Chief and Head Agent of the Cyber Crimes Division of the NBI Ronald Aguto Jr, quoted Miss Krizzy's May 9 tweet: "This is a clear violation of election law! Throw him in jail as well. No one is above the law!"
Miss Krizzy's tweet has since been deleted, but it was accompanied by a photo of Robin's Instagram post of a sample ballot. Robin's post has also been deleted.
The letter said that Miss Krizzy's tweet was made without proper research and with the purpose of defaming Robin, "supposedly because he supported a candidate which Miss Krizzy does not support."
Miss Krizzy has criticized presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte in the past, and is also currently supporting vice presidential candidate Leni Robredo as she is in tight race against Bongbong Marcos in the polls.
Robin, on the other hand, has been a vocal supporter of Duterte, even campaigning for him in the past.
Robin and his lawyers, Rudolf and Leonard Jurado, requested the NBI investigation for proper prosecution for online defamation and use of misleading statements.
Miss Krizzy is a popular Twitter user, with 317,000 followers, as of writing.
"Please note that we are likewise going over all other online posts/tweets/comments attacking/defaming our client regarding the same issue," added the letter, requesting the NBI for their assistance in identifying these other users too, for prosecution.
Miss Krizzy reacts
A few hours after the news of Robin's request broke, Miss Krizzy reacted on Twitter, at first only saying "Miss Krizzy vs Robin Padilla" followed by shocked and laughing emojis.

Sample ballot
Robin did post a photo of a ballot on May 9, but has since clarified that it was a sample ballot that was pre-shaded.
The post has since been deleted, and there is a statement from his lawyer explaining that Robin did not commit any crime, as the photo was not an official ballot, nor was it taken inside a precinct.
Robin was sentenced to 21 years of imprisonment in 1995 due to illegal possession of firearms, but was granted conditional pardon in 1998.
The photo of his lawyer's statement is captioned: "If I did something to this effect, I am calling the Comelec [Commission on Election] to arrest me and put me to jail if proven that I went to a precinct, voted, and took pictures of an official ballot. If proven otherwise then the legal battle should start and make the guilty answer for their actions especially the bullying."

Aside from Robin's statement, his wife Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla and his former management Vidanes Celebrity Marketing also explained on social media that the photo was of a sample ballot.
