MANILA, Philippines – Filipino pageant fans are hoping for a back-to-back win as Philippine bet Chelsea Fernandez continues to deliver a good performance in the Miss Globe 2022 pageant, following her win in the Head to Head Challenge.
“Congratulations are in order to the intelligent and beautiful queens of the Miss Globe beauty pageant 2022. Miss Philippines Chelsea Fernandez – winner [of] ‘Head to Head’ challenge,” the organization announced on Monday, October 10, alongside a photo of the beauty queens during the challenge.
Chelsea was followed in ranking by representatives from UAE, USA, Colombia, and Ghana.
The Head to Head challenge is a segment where the beauty queens talk about their respective advocacies, and the winner of the said challenge will have an advantage in the pageant’s finals night.
Aside from the Head to Head challenge, Chelsea also made it to the finals of the Miss Globe talent competition, where she performed Rihanna’s hit song “Diamonds.” “It was a fun experience performing with an international crowd and sharing with the globe how talented Filipinos are,” she said in an Instagram post.
Chelsea is currently in Albania for the Miss Globe 2022 competition, whose coronation night is set on October 15 (morning of October 16 in the Philippines). Philippines’ Maureen Montagne is set to crown her successor.
If Chelsea wins the title, it’s going to be a back-to-back victory for the Philippines, and she’ll be the third Filipina beauty queen to bring home the Miss Globe crown. – Rappler.com
