MANILA, Philippines – EXO’s Kai made his highly-anticipated solo comeback on Tuesday, November 30, with the release of his second mini-album Peaches.
The K-pop idol also released a music video for the album’s title track “Peaches.” Known for his exquisite dancing skills, Kai once again wowed his fans with his trademark sleek movements in the video.
Peaches marks Kai’s second release as a solo artist, following his solo debut album KAI in 2020.
“I showed a heavy and deep image for my past solo release and with EXO. This time, I wanted to show a sweet, friendly, and cute image,” he said in an online press conference, as translated by Soompi.
The 27-year-old singer also shared that making the six-track album wasn’t a “relaxed production process.” “I think that I achieved a balance between something new and what I wanted to do,” he said.
In line with his solo comeback, Kai is also gearing up for an online solo concert on December 12. “It’s really tough to prepare a concert all by yourself. I’m going in with the attitude of learning, since it’s my first solo concert,” he added.
Kai, whose real name is Kim Jong-in, debuted under SM Entertainment as a member of EXO in 2012. The group released their album Don’t Fight The Feeling in June.
Kai is also a member of the K-pop group SuperM. He currently stars in the Netflix reality show New World. – Rappler.com
