G-Dragon has teased his latest collaboration with Nike – a sneaker called Nike Kwondo1 released under the South Korean rapper’s streetwear line PEACEMINUSONE.
The all-white shoe features Nike’s iconic check logo, with an eyelet pattern reminiscent of Brogue shoes. It has the Nike and PEACEMINUSONE logos embossed on the fold-over tongue and a daisy embroidered on the heel tab.
The name of the sneaker is a mash-up of “Kwon” (G-Dragon’s real surname), and Nike’s motto, “Just Do It,” while also referencing the traditional Korean martial art of Taekwondo.
It is set to drop on Nike’s website on December 3 at 10 am, for P6,595.
G-Dragon is a K-pop icon, first debuting as the leader of the pioneering boy group BIGBANG in 2006. He has since launched a solo music career and gone into other ventures as well.
He launched PEACEMINUSONE in 2016 with his longtime stylist Gee Eun. Since then, the line has collaborated with fashion magazine Vogue for a clothing line and released an earlier collab with Nike in 2020. – Rappler.com
