Five blockbuster hits starring on- and off-screen love team Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla will be adapted in India, following an agreement made between ABS-CBN Film Productions and India’s Global One Studios.
The local films that will be remade by Bollywood are She’s Dating The Gangster (2014), Crazy Beautiful You (2015), Barcelona: A Love Untold (2016), Can’t Help Falling In Love (2017), and The Hows Of Us (2018), which became the Philippines’ top-grossing film at the box office that year.
This is the first time that India, one of the largest film markets in the world, will be localizing Filipino films for Indian audiences. Global One Studios said in a media statement that the five films will be remade with new Bollywood love teams.
KathNiel’s box office hits have garnered the couple several accolades. Both were named Phenomenal Box Office Stars in 2019 for The Hows of Us, Prince and Princess of Philippine Movies in 2018 for Can’t Help Falling In Love and Crazy Beautiful You, and Box Office King and Queen in 2017 for Barcelona: A Love Untold, which was awarded Best Picture at the 65th FAMAS Awards.
The Hows of Us received a Golden Jury award at the 50th Guillermo Box Office Entertainment Awards. – Rappler.com
