Performing with an orchestra for the first time, Pinoy pop groups SB19 and 4th Impact promised fans and viewers a different but heartfelt show for Forte: A Benefit Pop Orchestra Concert.

We treated this concert as our biggest performance in our lives. It’s a different kind of feel na ibigay sa kanila ‘yung deserve nilang (to give them) world class performance in these trying times. Especially that we have a beautiful orchestra with us,” 4th Impact said during the event’s press conference on Thursday, October 7.

Set on Sunday, October 17, the online benefit concert will feature SB19 and 4th Impact performing alongside soprano Nicole Pugeda and tenor Isaac Iglesias, as well as the Battig Chamber Orchestra and the SSC Chamber Choir.

It is hosted by the Sr. Baptista Battig Music Foundation, and will raise funds for the foundation’s scholars.

‘A good experience’

SB19’s Justin said, “It was hard for us because it’s our first time to perform with an orchestra. Madali siya pakinggan pero noong nag-rehearsals kami, nangapa pa ako. Pero na-enjoy naman namin. (It sounded easy but during the rehearsals, I had a hard time adjusting. But we enjoyed it.) It was a good experience.”

As part of their preparations for this concert, SB19’s Pablo said that they focused more on the emotions for their performances. “It was more on the detail on how we are going to do it with an orchestra and ‘yung feeling din, sinasabayan namin ‘yung flow and arrangement ng music (and the emotions, too. We were timing it with the flow and arrangement of the music).”

He added, “Yung feeling ‘yung dapat nilang abangan kapag narinig nila ‘yung performance onstage. It’s not about how complicated it is. At sana ma-realize ng mga manonood na hindi gaanon kakomplikado ‘yung classical music.”

(It’s the emotions that they should look forward to when they listen and watch the performances onstage. It’s not about how complicated it is. And hopefully they’ll get to realize that classical music isn’t as complicated as what they make it out to be.)

Aside from their latest single “Mapa” and a collaboration with 4th Impact, SB19 teased fans that they’ll also be performing more ballad tracks for the concert.

Wala kaming masyadong dance songs na nilagay for the orchestra kasi ‘yung highlight talaga ng concert na ‘to ay ‘yung beauty na binibigay talaga ng orchestra music,” they said.

(We didn’t put a lot of dance tracks in the lineup for this concert since we want to highlight in this event the beauty of orchestra music.)

‘A different impact’

4th Impact also shared their excitement for the upcoming concert. “It’s our first time to have a full orchestra as a back-up so this will be a really new thing for us,” Irene said.

She added, “That itself talagang na-inspire kami kasi people know us na doing harmonies lang (Being part of this really inspires us since people only know us for our harmonies.) But you will expect a different Impact. Our preparation – from outfits, harmonies, and arrangements. You will really feel the heart and soul for the performances.”

Almira said that through this concert, 4th Impact will send hope to the viewers. “We would like to pay it forward so we can inspire others through our music and the songs we’re performing.”  – Rappler.com
