Actor Ejay Falcon is making a bid for vice governor of Oriental Mindoro in the 2022 elections, filing his certificate of candidacy (COC) on Friday, October 1.
He is the running mate of incumbent Oriental Mindoro Governor Humerlito “Bonz” Dolor, who filed his COC alongside Falcon.
In a TV Patrol interview, Falcon said that while he doesn’t have experience in politics, he does have a lot of life experience.
“Kulang man ako sa kaalaman sa larangang ganito, pero pinapangako ko naman na punong-puno ako ng karanasan pagdating sa totoong buhay at sa karanasan ko sa pagtulong, bilang isang Mindorenyo,” he said.
(I may not have much experience in this field, but I promise I have a lot of life experience, and experience in helping others, as a Mindorenyo.)
Falcon, 31, grew up in Pola, Oriental Mindoro, the son of a Filipina mother and an estranged French father.
He rose to fame as the “Promdi Hottie of Oriental Mindoro” on the teen edition of ABS-CBN reality series Pinoy Big Brother, which he won in 2008.
Since then he’s starred in a number of films and shows, including Katorse, Pasion de Amor, Dugong Buhay, Third Eye, and Gandarrapiddo: The Revenger Squad.
He is also a Philippine Air Force reservist, completing his training in 2019. – Rappler.com
