Film, TV industry mourns death of director Francis Xavier Pasion

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Members of the entertainment industry took to social media to express their sadness over the death of filmmaker Francis Xavier Pasion Sunday, March 6.

Here are just a few of the tributes being shared by his colleagues and friends in the industry, who also shared their admiration for his work and offered their condolences to his family.

Francis was found dead at his Quezon City home on Sunday. According to a report from Umagang Kay Ganda, his brother Michael confirmed he died due to cardiac arrest, based on the autopsy report of the Philippine National Police.

He is known for working on the independent films Jay (2008) and Bwaya, which won Best Film under the New Breed category in the 2014 Cinemalaya Film Festival.

Francis also worked on a number of TV shows for ABS-CBN, including My Binondo Girl, Dyesebel, and the recent JaDine hit show On the Wings of Love. – Rappler.com
