Korean variety show Running Man released on Friday, June 11, some behind-the-scenes photos from the filming of Lee Kwang-soo’s final episode.

The film set featured Running Man cast members Ji Suk-jin, Yoo Jae-suk, Kim Jong-kook, Haha, Song Ji-hyo, Jeon So-min, Yang Se-chan, and Kwang-soo in various activities with their “beloved giraffe” in the center.

“Forever member Lee Kwang-soo’s ‘last race.’ Lee Kwang-soo, who ran with us for 11 years, forever,” they wrote in the caption.

According to a Soompi report, Kwang-soo recorded his last episode for Running Man last May 24.

A preview of the upcoming 559th episode, Kwang-soo’s final appearance as a series regular, also circulated on social media. In the snippet, Kwang-soo was seen tearfully reading his farewell letter to his Running Man family.

Kwang-soo’s agency King Kong by Starship announced on April 27 that the comedian can no longer continue his activities on Running Man because of the injuries he got from a car accident in February 2020.

“We are unfortunately faced with a beautiful goodbye, but we ask the viewers to show warm support and encouragement to Lee Kwang-soo and the members who made a difficult decision,” Running Man’s media company SBS said in a statement.

Running Man is one of the most popular variety shows in South Korea and has a growing fan base in the Philippines. The cast members were supposed to visit the Philippines in February 2020 to celebrate the show’s 10th year, but their trip was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
