Focus Features released the official teaser trailer for upcoming thriller Last Night in Soho on Tuesday, May 25. The film is set for release in theaters in October.
Set as a psychological, time-bending thriller, Last Night in Soho tells the mysterious story about an ambitious young girl named Eloise (Jojo Rabbit’s Thomasin McKenzie) who is passionate in fashion design. Her apparent “sixth sense” allows her to travel back and forth through time in the 1960s where she embodies and encounters her idol, charming wannabe singer Sandy (Anya Taylor-Joy) in London.

Filming began in early 2019 and wrapped up in August 2020 with additional reshoots. Last Night in Soho is directed and co-written by Edgar Wright, who is known for his other works such as Baby Driver and Scott Pilgrim vs The World.
Anya Taylor-Joy stars in this neon noir film, following the success of Academy-nominated Emma and her role as chess genius Elizabeth Harmon in the critically-acclaimed Netflix limited series, The Queen’s Gambit. She will star alongside McKenzie, Matt Smith, Jessie Mei Li, and more.
Diana Rigg and Margaret Nolan are also part of the thriller, making it their last film appearance. Diana died in September 2020 while Margaret died the following month, in October 2020.
The film was originally scheduled to be out in September 2020, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is now set to be finally released on October 22, 2021 in the United States, with distributors yet to announce when it will be out in the Philippines. – with reports from Angelica Burlaza/Rappler.com
