MANILA, Philippines – Taylor Swift won 3 awards at the 2016 Grammys on Tuesday, February 16, and her one speech appeared to throw shade at Kanye West and the lyrics in his one of his new songs.

After receiving the award for Album of the Year, Taylor said, "I wanna say to all the young women out there: there are gonna be people along the way, there are gonna be people who try to undercut your success, or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame.

"But if you just focus on the work and you don't let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you're going, you'll look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you that put you there. And that will be the greatest feeling in the world. Thank you for this moment."

After she Taylor accepted her award, actress Ruby Rose showed her support for her by tweeting that Taylor's speech was "on point."

In Kanye's West's new album The Life of Pablo, one of the lines he raps is "I feel like me and Taylor might have sex / I made that b-tch famous." (READ: Rep for Taylor Swift clarifies rumors she knew about 'Famous' line in new Kanye song)

The lyric made headlines, as Taylor's brother posted a video on Instagram of himself throwing out his Yeezy 350 Boosts. Taylor's friend, Gigi Hadid, was at the album preview and reacted to the lyric, saying she her attendance at the event didn't mean she agreed with what was sung.

Ruby also tweeted, saying that someone had hurt Taylor and many other women, and that if she supported this unnamed person, she could no longer call herself a feminist.

"Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single 'Famous' on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, 'I made that bitch famous,'" said a rep for Taylor via statement issued to Entertainment Weekly.

After the statement from Taylor's rep, Kanye sent out many tweets saying that he did ask for Taylor's permission to use the lyric, and that the line was a Taylor's idea in the first place, as she had once said, "I can’t be mad at Kanye because he made me famous!" (READ: Kanye West on 'Famous' line: 'I did not diss Taylor Swift')

Taylor also won Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Music Video in the 2016 Grammy Awards.– Rappler.com
