ABS-CBN’s long-running Sunday noontime variety show ASAP Natin ‘To will begin airing on TV5 on Sunday, January 24, taking over the timeslot of Sunday Noontime Live (SNL).

SNL, a Brightlight Productions show, launched in October 2020 and ended its run on January 17, with Brightlight saying it would not renew the show for another season. (READ: Why ‘Sunday Noontime Live’ ended early, according to Johnny Manahan)

ASAP Natin ‘To premiered in 1995, and has been one of ABS-CBN’s banner shows. It is headlined by performers including Martin Nievera, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Gary Valenciano, Sarah Geronimo, Erik Santos, Ogie Alcasid, and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid.

Since the shutdown of ABS-CBN’s flagship channel in May 2020, the show has been available online via iWantTFC and Kapamilya Online Live, as well as on cable and satellite TV via the Kapamilya Channel. It returned to free TV in October 2020, via the Zoe Broadcasting Network’s A2Z Channel 11.

Also set to air on TV5 is FPJ: Da King, a movie block featuring the films of the late screen icon Fernando Poe Jr. It will air ever Sunday from 2 pm to 4 pm.

“This collaboration between CIGNAL, TV5, Brightlight Productions, and ABS-CBN marks the start of greater cooperation among our various industry players and begins a new era of partnership,” said Robert P. Galang, president and CEO of Cignal and TV5.

“The airing of ASAP and FPJ’s movies on TV5 showcases the desires of TV5 and ABS-CBN to serve our viewers in the best way possible,” he said. – Rappler.com
