American hardcore punk band Converge reminded internet users in the Philippines that they are not an internet service provider, after they received an influx of complaints meant for telecom company of the same name.
On Facebook on January 16, the band posted a screenshot of one such comment, and said, “Hey everyone… still just a hardcore band over here.”
They added, “Covid has not forced us to become an internet provider in the Philippines yet, but we hope everyone over there gets their internet access back.”
Converge the band came together in 1990, and has released 9 studio albums, including their debut Halo in a Haystack, and their most recent record, The Dusk in Us.
Converge the internet provider meanwhile was recently caught in controversy, after actress Liza Soberano tweeted them to complain about their internet service. (READ: Converge gets back online after lengthy downtime) – Rappler.com
